YOU ARE BIDDING TO PURCHASE A 1997 CHEVROLET CAVALIER LS CONVERTIBLE THAT HAS BEEN DRIVEN ON AVERAGE LESS THAN 3,000 MILES PER YEAR,FAR LESS THAN 15,000 THE INDUSTRY AVERAGE.THESE MILES ARE CERTIFIED THRU CAR FAX.AUTO CHECK,THE PRIOR OWNER AND WITHOUT QUESTION THE VERY NICE CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE.THESE ARE THE TYPE OF MILES YOU WOULD NORMALLY FIND ON VERY PRICEY 2012 AND 2011 MODELS BUT HARDLEY EVER ON A 1997.

                                        ****************************

In these difficult economic times and with the price of fuel slated to go even higher we feel the fairest way to sell this vehicle is to let you the buyer set the price, yes you! Isn't that the best way to buy,you price it?

                                                        *********************************

The Chevrolet Cavalier is a compact automobile produced from 1982 thru 2005 by General Motors spanning 3 generations. With over 3 million sold over the years and with 85% still on the road today they are a well proven money saving economy car with generous fuel economy averaging 23  miles per gallon that fits almost any budget with a touch of style and class, hands down.

                                                        ********************************

We fid this little LS convertible clean from front to rear with absolute minimal cosmetic imperfections (EG: dings, dimples, scuffs ect.).We see no corrosion on the doors, fenders or udecarage. The original factory finish still has that ''new car'' luster.Obviously this little beauty has spent much of its time garaged. All lenses, trim and moldings are clean and straight. There are a very fresh looking set of all season steel belted radials riding on the original factory alloys that show no curb or road rash. The unused spare and all jacking hardware are present and stowed properly. The convertible top is free of rips, tears and holes and shows little to no sun fade. We see no evidence that this top has ever leaked. The original windshield is clear and clean showing no stone bruises, cracks or wiper mar.The interior is as close to pristine condition as you are ever likely to find on any vehicle of this vintage. It is quite evident this vehicle has never been smoked in or used to carry pets,so rare and so refreshing.

                                                     *********************************

Mechanically there will be no surprises here. The well proven 2.4 L  4 cylinder engine fires to life with the click of the key coming to idle at specs. We see no oil smoke or leaks around the block or from the exhaust. On the drive the acceleration is responsive, the front end is tight and pleasing with no errant axle noises as is somtimes the case with front wheel drive vehicles. The automatic transmission shifts on point thru the gears. The brakes stop the car confidently with no pull or shudder. The air conditioner works quietly while producing excellent cooling. We see no issues with the power windows, power door locks, cruise control, power convertible top, heat, defrost, original soud system or safety features. In our opinion this vehicle has been very well looked after and if continued by the next fortunate owners they can expect many miles and many years of trouble fee service.

                                                       *****************************

Whether you are looking for a great little economical daily commuter or a great first car for that new driver in the family this little ''lassie'' would be a very wise choice. Please keep in mind vehicles of this vintage in this condition with these kind of miles are few and far between and are very rarely found on a ''NO RESERVE'' auction but are normally passed down by a senior family member. Some one out there will be awarded this ''NEEDLE IN THE HYSTACK'' find for a very reasonable price, why not you???You have found an exceptional little car.Do not let it slip away as we doudt you will ever see another like it on this web site or even the world wide web.Bid confidently, bid early and bid often and above all BID TO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THEY DON'T COME ANY CLEANER OR LOWER MILEAGE THAN THIS!!!

The USPS needs 180,000 new delivery vehicles, automakers gearing up to bid

Wed, Feb 18 2015

Winning the New York City Taxi of Tomorrow tender was a huge prize for Nissan, even though the company is still working through the process of claiming its prize. The United States Postal Service has begun the process to take bids for a new delivery vehicle to replace the all-too-familiar Grumman Long Life Vehicle, and that will be a much larger plum for the automaker who wins it, perhaps worth more than six billion dollars. The Grumman LLV is an aluminum body covering a Chevrolet S-10 pickup chassis and General Motors' Iron Duke four-cylinder engine. The USPS bought them from 1987 to 1994, and the 163,000 of them still in service are a monumental drain on postal resources: they get roughly ten miles to the gallon instead of the quoted 16 mpg, drink up more than $530 million in fuel each year, and their constant repair needs like the balky sliding door and leaky windshields have led the service to increase the annual maintenance budget from $100 million to $500 million. A seat belt is about as modern as it gets for safety technology, and the USPS says that assuming things stay the same, it can't afford to run them beyond 2017. Last year it put out two triage requests for proposals seeking 10,000 new chassis and drivetrains for the Grumman and 10,000 new vehicles. The LLV is also too small for the modern mail system in which package delivery is growing and letter delivery is declining. The service says it doesn't have a fixed idea of the ideal "next-generation delivery vehicles," but it listed a number of requirements in its initial request and is open to any proposal. Carriers have some suggestions, though, saying they want better cupholders, sun visors that they can stuff letters behind, a driver's compartment free of slits that can swallow mail, and a backup camera. The request for information sent to automakers pegs the tender at 180,000 vehicles that would cost between $25,000 and $35,000 apiece, and it will hold a conference on February 18 to answer questions about the contract. GM is the only domestic maker to avow an interest, while Ford and Fiat-Chrysler have remained cagey. Yet with a possible $6.3 billion up for grabs and some new vans for sale that would be advertised on every block in the country, we have a feeling everyone will be listening closely come February 18. We also have a feeling the LeMons series is going to be flooded with Grummans come 2017. News Source: Wall Street Journal, Automotive News - sub.

Recharge Wrap-up: Chevy Volt class action suit proposed, Tesla stock could outperform in 2015

Sat, Dec 27 2014

A class action suit has been proposed against General Motors for a steering problem in the Chevrolet Volt. The plaintiffs claim that a defect can cause the steering to freeze intermittently, and that General Motors either knows or should have known about the problem. The case, filed in New Jersey, also claims that defective parts are replaced with the same or similar parts, which are also defective. The plaintiffs say that claims for the 100-plus-member class exceed $5 million. Read more at Law360 or at BigClassAction. Tesla Motors stock (TSLA) has risen after weeks of losses. It gained 5.4 percent during the week ending December 19, when it closed at $219.29 per share. Since then, it rose slightly more, closing at $222.26 on December 24. Morgan Stanley lowered its target price on Tesla stock from $320 to $290, predicting lower sales on the upcoming Model III than expected before, but still called Tesla a good long-term investment. Analysts at CNBC predicted Tesla to be the best performing stock of 2015. Read more at ETF Daily News. Oslo- and New York-based architecture firm Snohetta has designed a zero-emissions house that also charges an electric car. The ZEB Pilot House, built in Larvik, Norway, uses a solar panel on the roof to power the house, which also provides enough excess energy to charge an EV. To make the most of energy most efficiently, the house uses smart technology to use as much energy as it can once it's harvested. This means one can turn on appliances like the washing machine remotely while the sun is at the optimum angle in the sky - perhaps during mid-day when the residents are at work. The house also uses organic materials and is designed to save as much energy as possible. Read more at Wired.

Mark Reuss: GM can't afford product 'misses,' has 'thought about' CT6 V-Series

Thu, Apr 9 2015

Mark Reuss is a busy man. He oversees General Motors' global product portfolio, an all-encompassing task for a company that sold more than 9.9 million cars and trucks last year. When GM launches a well-received product, like the road-going rocket ship that is the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – he gets credit. When the company stumbles with the slow-selling Chevy Malibu or grapples with fallout from the decade-old Saturn Ion and its flawed ignition switch, he gets blamed. GM owners, the press and sometimes the federal government, demand answers. Bob Lutz famously held the job before Reuss. So did Mary Barra, who's now GM's chief executive. There's a New GM, but the lineage is connected to a long history. When he's not thinking product, Reuss, an executive vice president, also runs the purchasing and supply chain for the company, which is still one of the largest industrial empires in the world. We caught up with Reuss on the floor of the New York Auto Show, where GM had just rolled out two crucial new products: the 2016 Cadillac CT6 and the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. Speaking with a small group of reporters, Reuss delved into a variety of subjects, including the new Malibu, Cadillac's future (he thinks the ATS-V is going to "flame the M3 and M4"), and other topics. On fixing the Malibu: "We can't miss. We can't have those kinds of misses [like the previous generation] on our cars and crossovers and trucks. We can't do that. If we do that, we give a reason for someone to go buy something else. It's that simple. "On a car like the Malibu we have a chance to really fix all of that, which we have, and then lead. Then you've got a real opportunity there. So that's what we've really been focused on here – to fix those things." He later added: "We need that car here to transform Chevrolet desperately because it's the heart of the market. And when you think of Chevrolet, people will come back and think about what we did with the [new] Malibu and the Cruze... It's hugely important to us." On Cadillac: "If we go out and try and out-German the Germans, it's probably not going to work. We've got an opportunity here generationally where there's a lot of people younger than me that have parents that drove BMWs and Mercedes, and I think there's an opportunity there for those people to drive something different than what their parents did, and I think that's always been an opportunity in the auto industry if you look at the history of it.
