Offered up for your consideration is a 69 Caprice with what is believed to be the original numbers matching 427 big block....I have checked the block casting   which ends with 270...I have a hard time trying to read the vin by the oil filter   but all clamps and such look to be all original...I bought this online a few months ago...it came out of a barn in Vancouver Washington where it had been sitting for 20 plus years....My original plan was to pull the motor and tranny for my 69 camaro   and part out the rest of the car......As my luck runs, the car is much nicer than I was originally led to believe..I bought it as a non runner...After some fresh gas and a little tinkering  she now runs and drives....She does smoke a little when first started  and is in desperate need of a tune up...She runs rough and has a miss    but there are no knocks or pings....Since I can't see pulling such a nice car apart   especially a numbers match car...I figured I would just pass it on and find another motor and tranny for my camaro.......IF SHE DOESN'T SELL  I WILL PULL IT APART!!!!!   I will offer the rolling shell  for half of what I have it listed for     if that doesn't work   the it will be parts and pieces.....I would really prefer not to do that to such a nice car though...Now for details
The body is super solid   with just a small hint of rust in the rear wheel wells, the rear seat is stained, the front bench has a small tear, the headliner has some small holes  & the car is a bit musty from sitting so long..The a/c compressor seems to work  but the blower motor doesn't blow..There is some slight surface rust on top of the front hood  but no rot
The cragers have been sold    but I have a really nice set of rally wheels which will go with the car.....If anyone wants to speak to me about it   my cell is 631   949   7770         I will consider partial trades  for items such as   utility / car trailer, chevelle, camaro,  may consider other   NO BIKES!!  let me know

Please note  this vehicle is being sold as is with no warranty written or implied,,all funds must clear before car is released....any questions please call or email

Here's why automakers roll out those Texas-themed pickup trucks

Thu, Sep 29 2016

Every year, automakers with a full-size truck link make a big show of the Texas State Fair, usually involving a reveal of a new model. Sometimes they show a whole new truck, and other times a special edition centered on the Lone Star state. While some people might write this off as a quirk of the industry, others might be wondering, "What's the big deal with Texas?" As it turns out, part of the big deal with Texas is big truck sales. According to Dave Sullivan, product analysis manager at AutoPacific, Texas buys more trucks than any other state in the country. It's not a small margin either. Edmunds.com, one in five trucks sold in the US are sold in Texas. The state also accounts for 15 percent of the country's large truck sales, which is more than twice that of California, the second largest truck market in America. Even when you break down sales only in Texas, trucks are a huge piece of the pie - Sullivan says that a quarter of new vehicle sales in Texas are trucks. One in five trucks sold in the US are sold in Texas. But it's not just sales that make truck builders give attention to Texas. As Sullivan explained, "Pickups are life in Texas." Both he and Hugh Milne, marketing and advertising manager for the Chevy Silverado line, said that trucks are key fixtures in Texas society, as both work trucks and luxury vehicles (or Texas Cadillacs as Milne called them). Milne said Texas is so important in the truck market that if you want to be successful in the rest of the country, "you've got to be successful in Texas." As for the State Fair, it has become a prime location for reveals in part because of the importance of the Texas market and because of how big the fair is. Milne also revealed that the State Fair also hosts its own auto show, so it's an ideal venue for a vehicle introduction. So there you have it. Why do truck builders obsess over Texas? It's because Texas obsesses over trucks. When you have one market that loves your product that much, you give it the attention it deserves. Chevy Bolt, GM's 200-mile EV, could debut in Detroit

Sat, Jan 10 2015

It's not news that General Motors is working on a $30,000 electric vehicle with a 200-mile range. Then-CEO Dan Akerson said as much back in 2013. What we've heard before is that this mystery EV will be based on the Chevrolet Sonic and will will arrive in 2017. So, if that's all correct, then it would make sense that confirmation of this plan would come at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, which is just around the corner. And lookee here... The Wall Street Journal is reporting that GM will unveil a concept Chevy Bolt at the Detroit show on Monday. That name sure makes sense, too, since GM registered that trademark back in August. According to the Journal, the rumored numbers – 200-mile range, $30,000 price – are still what's expected. Some new purported details are that the battery will come from LG Chem, which also makes the Volt's batteries, and that the Bolt will be a crossover that could be sold around the world. This all smacks of a preemptive strike against the Tesla Model 3, which is also due around 2017. Currently, GM sells the Spark EV in limited areas of the US, despite a lot of excitement for wider availability. To sell a 200-mile EV for $30,000 means that GM and LG Chem will likely have drastically reduced the cost of making a big plug-in vehicle battery. What this means for the new Volt and GM's future plans is something we're more than a little excited about to learn more of on Monday, the same day that we get to see the redesigned Chevy Volt for the first time. Well, aside from the CES teaser. Green Chevrolet Crossover Electric 2015 Detroit Auto Show Chevy Bolt bolt

Motor Trend wheels the 2015 Corvette Z06

Tue, Nov 25 2014

The new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is capable of some absolutely wild metrics. Want proof? Carlos Lago from Motor Trend is here to break it all down. 60 miles per hour? 3.2 seconds. 60 to 0? 91 feet. Lateral acceleration? A staggering 1.16g, a figure that is the highest MT has ever recorded for a vehicle that isn't a race car. It's an utterly astonishing piece of work, this Z06, and just when you think it can't possibly get any more impressive, Randy Pobst hustles an auto-equipped Z06 around Road Atlanta in just 1:30. Aside from the eight-speed auto, Pobst's Z06 had the most aggressive aerodynamic package, the so-called Stage III. Take a look at the 650-horsepower Z06 in Motor Trend's latest video.
