I have a 1995 Caprice 9C1 Interceptor with only 36018 original miles on it .

That's right 36018 miles on a 18 year old police car . The car was acquired in September 1995 by a small police department in Southeastern PA. It was used by the police department until August 2008 . At that time it had 32084 miles and was remarked for the fire department and became the fire chiefs car .It was used in that capacity until being retired this past fall .

I have been buying , selling and enjoying driving retired police units since 1985 , and this is the lowest mile police unit I have ever owned . That being said this car does show the antennae holes, dings and scratches[many from the remarking] that come with being used in the line of duty for 18 years , it also has some minor surface rust also [see pictures , ask questions].

This car starts cold with no noises or smoke , and idles smooth . When put in gear there is no drivetrain slop and the idle remains silky smooth. Driving the car you experience smooth acceleration with crisp shifts and perfect torque convertor performance .It steers and drives the way a car with under 40K miles should , tight , sound and with no clunks or rattles . The air conditioning works well as does the heat . The seats are firm and solid  ,fronts cloth and the rear vinyl , it has a rubber carpet .The tires are in fair shape with the rear being snow tires ,even with the tires its a great driving car . The gauges work as does the AM/FM radio.

If your reading this post you probably know what these cars are , but I must say that the Caprice 9C1 was the premier law enforcement sedan [the only police car ever remanufactured for reuse  ever ].....[But Chevy is back Caprice PPV with the 6.2 LS motor and a host of 21'st century improvements is here].The Dodge Charger Police Package [introduced in 2006] is the first 4 door interceptor that was comparable to the original LT1 , 9C1 . Check my sales for Chargers being listed soon .

These 9C1 Caprices will give 25+ MPG highway and run circles around many so called performance sedans. They ride great , have a huge trunk and will seat 5 FULL size people comfortably on a trip ,returning great fuel mileage and a superior ride.

I am starting the car at a low opening bid and it will sell if a bid is made on it , I won't play the car is for sale elsewhere game , the car is for sale as is-where is and I would be happy to show it to any interested parties or their agent . It is always best to see a car in person and I hope if you are interested you can do so , but if that's not possible I will be happy to answer any questions you have about the car and walk around it while talking to you to make sure your questions are answered in the best possible way.

I can arrange a transit tag for the buyer .

It's time consuming and expensive to list a car on EBAY  >>>>

It's a shame that these things have to be said but there are a few jerks ruining it for all the good folks.

Balance due at pickup in cash or cash or CASH  before car is delivered .

Thanks for looking and have a great day !

On May-28-13 at 10:54:07 PDT, seller added the following information:

It has been brought to my attention the EBAY automated listing system show the car has Cruise Control and Power Seats .

IT DOES NOT HAVE EITHER !

I'm very sorry for any inconvenience to any bidders .

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.

Why the Corvette's Performance Data Recorder can be illegal in some states

Fri, 26 Sep 2014

The Performance Data Recorder with Valet Mode available on the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray seems like a fantastic tool for many owners. Whether they are taking 720p video while lapping the track in their new 'Vette, or just want to protect their purchase from inconsiderate joyriders, the system offers a lot of functionality in one package. However, one of the PDR's features might get buyers in trouble with the law, and it has nothing to do with recording some illicit high-speed driving on a favorite back road. The problem hinges on the various state laws concerning a person's right to privacy.
According to a letter posted by Jalopnik, Chevy dealers are asking 2015 Corvette owners not to use the Valet Mode portion of the PDR because it records audio in the cabin, in addition to performance specs. That's a problem because privacy laws vary from state to state with some requiring just one side's consent to tape sound and others requiring all parties to agree. According Jalopnik, 15 states mandate everyone's permission beforehand, but it's not clear whether these numbers are up to date. (Actually, the report varies, saying 13 states in some places and 15 in a list.)
According to the letter, Chevy is already working on a software update for the near future to rectify the issue. It's possible that simply adding a warning to drivers and the ability to turn off the audio recording function in Valet Mode might solve the problem. Obviously, this doesn't preclude Corvette drivers from using the performance aspect of the PDR, and owners are free tape lap after lap at the track.

Consumer Reports no longer recommends Honda Civic

Mon, Oct 24 2016

Consumer Reports annual Car Reliability Survey is out, and yes, there are some big surprises. First and foremost? The venerable publication no longer recommends the Honda Civic. In fact, aside from the walking-dead CR-Z and limited-release Clarity fuel-cell car, the Civic is the only Honda to miss out on CR's prestigious nod. At the opposite end there's a surprise as well – Toyota and Lexus remain the most reliable brands on the market, but Buick cracked the top three. That's up from seventh last year, and the first time for an American brand to stand on the Consumer Reports podium. Mazda's entire lineup earned Recommended checks as well. Consumer Reports dinged the Civic for its "infuriating" touch-screen radio, lack of driver lumbar adjustability, the limited selection of cars on dealer lots fitted with Honda's popular Sensing system, and the company's decision to offer LaneWatch instead of a full-tilt blind-spot monitoring system. Its score? A lowly 58. The Civic isn't the only surprise drop from CR's Recommended ranks. The Audi A3, Ford F-150, Subaru WRX/STI, and Volkswagen Jetta, GTI, and Passat all lost the Consumer Reports' checkmark. On the flipside, a number of popular vehicles graduated to the Recommended ranks, including the BMW X5, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cruze, Hyundai Santa Fe, Porsche Macan, and Tesla Model S. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hilariously recall-prone Ford Escape getting a Recommended check – considering the popularity of Ford's small crossover, this is likely a coup for the brand, as it puts the Escape on a level playing field with the Recommended Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue. While Ford is probably happy to see CR promote the Escape, the list wasn't as kind for every brand. For example, of the entire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles catalog, the ancient Chrysler 300 was the only car to score a check – there wasn't a single Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, or Ram on the list. That hurts. FCA isn't alone at the low end, either. GMC, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, and Mitsubishi don't have a vehicle on CR's list between them, while brands like Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Nissan, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Cadillac only have a few models each. You can check out Consumer Reports entire reliability roundup, even without a subscription, here.
