1986 Chevrolet Caprice Classic 4-door 5.0l Parts Car on 2040-cars
Lancaster, California, United States
Purchased new by my father in 1986, is now mine through trust. 90,060 original miles. Great Parts Car. Accident 2009 and has been sitting for the last 4 1/2 years. We know it's a v-8 but not positive if 305 or 307. Engine restarted and ran after the accident and was driven to the side of the road. Looks like engine compartment was unscathed and there is no visible/known damage to the engine from the accident, but we did nothing to verify damage to anything inside or outside. Some wires and possibly hoses are damaged and/or missing from sitting. Front right panel, left side, front and rear of the car look straight (buyer to verify) The inside is very dusty. Before the accident all power items in the car for the windows and seats were working. Heater/AC worked. My father only drove locally and maintained it regularly. The tires were good and are now weathered so I don't know if they are usable any more. This is a California car and there is no rust that we can see. If someone is looking for parts for a 1986 caprice there are lots of great pieces. I prefer paypal but will take cash, or money orders also with a $400 deposit. For local pickup only. This vehicle may be viewed on the west side of Lancaster with notice as it's in a secure/locked yard. Sale is as-is, no warranties so please be sure to check it out. If there are any questions, please ask.

MotorWeek looks back at 1995 Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon
Sat, Jun 20 2015MotorWeek's Retro Review series gives us a nostalgic look back at some of the best sports cars and luxury sedans available in the 1980s and '90s. For its latest clip, the show shifts gears to remember the 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Similar to the success of crossovers today, SUVs were tallying big sales and making big money for automakers in the mid-'90s. The Tahoe and Yukon filled slots in the market as steps down from the larger Suburban. These twins weren't wanting for space, though, with plenty of room to haul around a family. MotorWeek came away generally impressed too, and called the models some "of the better riding sport utilities we've ever experienced." This review comes with some jazzy, electric guitar licks to enjoy in the background.
GM investing $167m in Spring Hill for new midsize vehicles
Tue, 06 Aug 2013General Motors has announced a large investment in its Spring Hill, Tennessee facility. The former home of Saturn production will be getting a $167 million addition to a previously announced $183 million, to cover a pair of new midsize vehicles. The investment is expected to create 1,800 jobs at the factory.
That $350 million is being divvied up for a pair of programs at Spring Hill. The first will take the bulk of the money ($223 million) and create 1,000 of the 1,800 jobs, while the other will take the remaining $127 million and generate the leftover 800 positions. But GM says the investment will cover "midsize vehicle programs." So what could they be?
The leading candidate in our minds is a new crossover for Buick, called the Anthem, that will slot between the Encore and Enclave, but will be slightly smaller than the Equinox and Terrain. As we've explained, the new model will likely be the first product to sport GM's new D2UX platform, which will eventually replace both the Delta and Theta platforms. Spring Hill is already building the Equinox, so there could be some credence to this theory.
Chevy SS prototype spotted wearing Pontiac G8 clothes
Tue, 28 Aug 2012
Do not adjust your computer screen, you are not seeing the rebirth of the Pontiac brand. General Motors has chosen to use a G8 to disguise a test mule for the latest prototype of the forthcoming Chevrolet SS. The G8 was closely related to the Holden Commodore and Vauxhall VXR, the platform upon which the new Chevrolet performance model will be based. It should come as little surprise, then, that GM has opted to use the cladding from the former G8.
Thought the front clip of this mule is pure Pontiac, note the vents immediately behind the front wheel. That is a distinctive design hallmark of the Vauxhall VXR. Also note that this vehicle is right-hand drive, as the Holden and its Chevy counterpart will be very closely related. That likely includes potential drivetrains. The spy photos of this mule also reveal very wide rear tires, and rear wheels that do not match the fronts.
