1974 Chevy Caprice Convertible on 2040-cars
Midland City, Alabama, United States
1974 Chevy caprice convertible. I've had the best times of my life in this car. A minor accident damaged the front passenger side. If you want a nice donk this is it. I can sell the engine alone for $7500. It was a 454 but we bored it out to a 468 big block and the sound alone sounds scary. This was a 35k investment. The top works fine. Doesn't have air conditioning but the heat works great. The front frame horns shifted a little during the accident and my body man said it's a simple fix but I can't invest anymore money. The parts are easy to find & I know where they are. The exhaust alone $1000 because it has hooker headers & magna flow exhaust with Chevy bow tow shaped tips. I'm leaving everything in the car as it sits. Music(4000 watt amp, 3 15's woofers, sound DVD deck, db highs & lows, alarm that starts the car, halo hid headlights) this car is like no other trust me. New gas tank and I've chased down all the original trim for this car and it wasn't cheap, that's why this car looks different than others. Also it has 1967 impala seats in it to make it look even more bad ass! The 24inch rims & tires are staying as well. It's so much stuff I can't explain so check out this link... If you message me I'll send you videos so you can hear and see what I'm telling you! Everywhere we take this car people say DAMMIT. What's under that hood! And I forgot, the rear end has been totally rebuild with 3.73 gears and posi rear! The transmission has been rebuild as well with a 2500 stall converter! Trust me I'm losing a ton of money by selling this car and it hurts! Also this is not a regular paint job as you can see. It's called outrageous grey and it's from England. Google it. Whenever the Sun hits a certain panel on this car it's radiant. Tell you what just inbox me and I got tons of picks to show you. I have videos as well. That you tube video is before the motor rebuild & exhaust ....http://youtu.be/AZa6vWeM-_A .......http://youtu.be/p_BUk3-ibvg.... http://youtu.be/X9Cwi1-RCQI |

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1
Thu, 28 Feb 2013During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra debut all-new designs, three new engines
Thu, 13 Dec 2012General Motors has finally dropped the curtain on the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra. Both trucks have undergone substantial revisions with updated versions of the company's 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 engines. In a shot across the bows of both Ford and Chrysler, GM says it won't use a V6 engine adapted from passenger car applications. Instead, it developed the 4.3-liter engine based on its proven truck-duty architecture.
All three mills will boast direct injection fuel systems as well as a new cylinder head design. Combined with a revised piston, the new engines feature a smaller combustion chamber with a compression ratio of 11:1 or higher depending on the application. Cylinder deactivation and continuously variable valve timing are all part of the recipe, and each engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with auto grade breaking. So far, no fuel economy or horsepower figures have been released, though GM says the new engines will best their predecessors in both areas.
Outside, the trucks feature a number of enhancements to reduce drag and wind noise, and GM claims both the Silverado and Sierra will offer buyers some of the quietest cabins in the class. Extended cab models now feature front-hinged rear doors to allow easier access to the back passenger area, and Crew Cab buyers can now select between a five-foot, eight-inch bed or a six-foot, six-inch bed. Buyers with a mind toward going off road will also rejoice in the return of the Z71 package, complete with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and additional under-body protection.
Opel's version of the Chevy Bolt will confuse people at Paris Motor Show
Fri, Aug 26 2016Two things are now official. First, Opel will reveal the Ampera-e, or the European version of the Chevrolet Bolt, at the Paris Motor Show in October. Second, General Motors has outdone itself in brand confusion, topping the Bolt/Volt ridiculousness. Opel isn't giving a single-charge range for the Ampera-e but the company is promising a "significantly longer range" than other electric vehicles. The Bolt is estimated to have a 200-mile range on the EPA scale, so whatever the Opel achieves on the European cycle will be done with the same batteries and motor as the Chevy. Opel is also looking to appeal to the auto enthusiasts with other factoids, which are basically just Bolt stats translated into metric. For instance, the Ampera-e will be able to go 0 to 50 kilometers per hour (which is 31 miles per hour to us Americans, but we're talking Europe here) in just 3.2 seconds. And for those looking to stay connected, as many as seven mobile devices can attached to the car's wireless hot spot. GM said in February that the European of the Bolt would be available across the pond next year, so the most recent bit of news isn't shocking. Still, General Motors continues to create confusion between all-electric Bolt and the extended-range plug-in Volt. It's already been reported that the Korean symbol and pronunciation of what is "B" in English is identical to the English "V," meaning that there is no difference between "Bolt" and "Volt" in that country (though there are no plans to sell the Bolt in South Korea as of yet). Now, in Europe, they're taking the name they used to use for the European of the Volt — Ampera — and merely adding an "-e" at the end of it. For those looking to be less confused, take a look at Opel's press release here.
