For sale is our 1985 Z-28 TPI Iroc Camaro. Car is being driven everyday currently and needs nothing to drive. It has what I believe to be every option available incl. the rare Lear Siegler Conteur interior. Car has the TPI 305ci 5.0L V-8 Engine and automatic trans. Car has T-tops, Power locks, mirrors, windows, cruise, tilt wheel, AC and again the Lear Siegler Conteur interior wich was only available from 1982-1986 in the Camaro. The driver's seat of this interior has adjustable lower and upper bolsters as well as an adjustable leg rest and head rest. Combined with a power seat track, the driver seat has 18 different adjustments and was only available on z28s or Irocs (1985). When I acquired the car the owner assured me the 35k miles was original and I don't doubt it based on the condition of the car. This car is in great shape. The interior is near perfect, the dash pad looks virtually new as well as all the carpet, and the seats are great as well (the driver's seat has one spot on the side bolster where it is separated; really the only flaw inside. The exterior of the car is really sharp and shows no rust and the newer paint shines all around. All the glass is great, the wheels all around are virtually perfect, the underside is what really stands out to me as it has no rust underneath...hardware brake lines etc. included. The last picture was taken of the inside bottom drivers door and shows it's really like new. The motor runs strong and sounds good, the transmission performs perfect and the fluid looks great. Car is very original other than newer custom exhaust, Grant steering wheel, and chrome flywheel inspection cover. Car has good four wheel disc brakes all around, new engine belts, fuel filter, good battery and new spark plugs. Car has the factory GM T-top storage bag, both the hood, and the rear hatch shocks are strong and not leaking, all the lights work as they should, as well as power locks, power seat, wipers, and radio. The car again is a very strong runner and ready to drive anywhere with no rust and unique options. The motor is very tight and clean with only a slow front main leak otherwise the car is totally dry, the engine has perfect compression of 159-168psi in all cylinders, but does puff a little smoke visible at slow speeds; not enough to tell that it is using oil but I suspect it could use valve seals likely leaking from age. The gas gauge always reads full, the tires have decent tread but also some weathering, car is missing the headliner, the air pump is frozen, the AC is complete other than the evaporator, the drivers power mirror doesn't work, the trip set, horn or the cruise, and at slow speeds the suspension with original bushings and all can be heard. I have a clear title in my name and two sets of keys. Nathan (517) 917-1934 Please ask any and all questions.  I have tried to spell out everything in detail and include good pictures but do remember this is a daily driver and 28 years old.

Mark Reuss: GM can't afford product 'misses,' has 'thought about' CT6 V-Series

Thu, Apr 9 2015

Mark Reuss is a busy man. He oversees General Motors' global product portfolio, an all-encompassing task for a company that sold more than 9.9 million cars and trucks last year. When GM launches a well-received product, like the road-going rocket ship that is the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – he gets credit. When the company stumbles with the slow-selling Chevy Malibu or grapples with fallout from the decade-old Saturn Ion and its flawed ignition switch, he gets blamed. GM owners, the press and sometimes the federal government, demand answers. Bob Lutz famously held the job before Reuss. So did Mary Barra, who's now GM's chief executive. There's a New GM, but the lineage is connected to a long history. When he's not thinking product, Reuss, an executive vice president, also runs the purchasing and supply chain for the company, which is still one of the largest industrial empires in the world. We caught up with Reuss on the floor of the New York Auto Show, where GM had just rolled out two crucial new products: the 2016 Cadillac CT6 and the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. Speaking with a small group of reporters, Reuss delved into a variety of subjects, including the new Malibu, Cadillac's future (he thinks the ATS-V is going to "flame the M3 and M4"), and other topics. On fixing the Malibu: "We can't miss. We can't have those kinds of misses [like the previous generation] on our cars and crossovers and trucks. We can't do that. If we do that, we give a reason for someone to go buy something else. It's that simple. "On a car like the Malibu we have a chance to really fix all of that, which we have, and then lead. Then you've got a real opportunity there. So that's what we've really been focused on here – to fix those things." He later added: "We need that car here to transform Chevrolet desperately because it's the heart of the market. And when you think of Chevrolet, people will come back and think about what we did with the [new] Malibu and the Cruze... It's hugely important to us." On Cadillac: "If we go out and try and out-German the Germans, it's probably not going to work. We've got an opportunity here generationally where there's a lot of people younger than me that have parents that drove BMWs and Mercedes, and I think there's an opportunity there for those people to drive something different than what their parents did, and I think that's always been an opportunity in the auto industry if you look at the history of it.

Chevrolet Malibu gets across-the-board price cuts, hopes to dig out of slump

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

To say that things aren't going well for the newly redesigned 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is a pretty sizable understatement. Reports have been swirling about the Malibu getting an emergency design refresh, less than a year after its introduction, as well as having its production at the Fairfax Assembly Plant halted twice already this year for excessive inventory. Now, Motor Trend is reporting that the midsize sedan will be receiving price drops across the board ranging from $300 on a number of models up to $770 on the 1LT trim; offsetting some of MSRP drop, though, the destination charge has increased from $760 to $810.
Without destination, the entry-level Malibu LS now starts at $21,995, which is still about $300 more than a Honda Accord and about $300 less than the segment's top-selling Toyota Camry. This new pricing also drops the price of the Eco, 2LT and 3LT trims by $300. The LTZ trim has dropped by $415, meaning that the Malibu's top dog now starts at just under $30,000, excluding destination.
Here are the new starting prices for all eight of the Malibu trim levels compared to the previous prices for the 2013 model year (including destination):

Opel CEO talks new EV, will likely be fresh face for Chevy, too

Wed, Jul 23 2014

The rumored demise of the Opel Ampera has been confirmed, but there's good news, too. Opel CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann has been busy Tweeting information about the brand's next plug-in vehicle, admitting that the Ampera is on the way out but that plug-in vehicles are here to stay. His Tweets, in full, read: After the eventual run-out of the current generation Ampera, we'll introduce a successor product in the electric vehicle segment. Our next electric vehicle will be part of our massive product offensive – with 27 new vehicles in the 2014-2018 time frame. We see eMobility as important part of the mobility of tomorrow and we will continue to drive down costs & deliver affordability. As we learned earlier this week, the Ampera will not be refreshed when the current Chevy Volt is updated, most likely because of slow sales. Opel sold just 332 Amperas in the first five months of 2014. For now, General Motors is still building Amperas in Michigan for export to Europe. So, what might this new EV mean for the General Motors plug-in fleet? Official spokespeople are being quiet, but we think it's safe to say the new EV Neumann is talking about is not simply a rebadged Chevy Spark EV. This is the first official word about an entirely new EV, and we expect it will come to both the Chevrolet and Opel brands.
