BLUE RIDGE HOT RODS
1968 Camaro "Copperhead"

You are bidding on a "just completed" Custom 1968 Camaro, this was a two year project involving thousands of man hours as well as the best parts available in the custom car market today.
We began by totally replacing all sheet metal, including the floor, doors, quarter panels, hood, trunk, fenders, valances, inner fenders etc, this was done to ensure a quality build that was not littered with body filler.

Next we installed a Pro-Touring front chassis from Heidts which included tubular upper and lower control arms, a power rack and pinion conversion, polished aluminum coil-over shocks, and a set of Wilwood 14" six piston brakes that are cross drilled and slotted with polished calipers!
Moving to the rear we added an all new nine inch rear housing from Currie which includes 33 spline axles and a Detroit Locker that holds Richmond 3.42 gears, stopping power comes from Wilwood cross drilled and slotted discs with polished calipers, all of this is secured under the car a with Heidts "Pro-G" four link setup with polished aluminum coil-overs, all of which is tied in with Heidts subframe connectors.

Once the chassis was complete, we had Boze make a set of custom forged wheels that measure 20x12 in the rear and 19x9 up front, they were then ceramic coated with well placed polished accents..

Power comes from a brand new GM 480HP LS3 Corvette engine, we dressed it up with polished aluminum drive accessories and bracketry as well as ceramic coated headers and custom coil covers.

The engine compartment is also home to dual Optima batteries, a custom polished aluminum cross-flow radiator, polished aluminum recovery tank, billet transmission cooler with braided lines, hi- flow electric fan with relay, custom fabricated wiper motor cover etc...
Harnessing the LS3 is the job of a brand new GM 6L80 six speed automatic transmission with tap-shift and rev-match programmed in.

Hundreds of hours were spent modifying the sheet metal to tastefully make the Camaro stand out in a crowd, changes include shaved door handles, shaved mirrors, shaved parking lamps, handmade front and rear fascias, handmade quarter panel and fender extensions, custom hood, handmade firewall, and probably the least noticed yet coolest body mod, we shrunk the front and rear glass openings and raised the glass so that it is flush mounted like the modern Camaro so we could ditch the bulky moldings..

Once the body was complete, we applied a custom mixed BASF Copper Pearl base, then added five coats of Hi-Solid BASF clear coat, once it baked it was wet sanded and hand buffed to a show car finish
On to the interior, we added custom power bucket seats up front, buckets seats in the rear, "all covered in black leather & black suede with nickel plated grommets", a custom water fall console that runs the entire length of the floor which holds power window switches, a GM shifter with tap-shift, LED lit cupholders, in-dash Navigation, custom billet A/C controller etc...

Other notables, all new wiring using 'Painless Products", all new wiper system from "Rain Gear", all new fuel lines, brake lines, glass, trim etc..
The list literally goes on and on, true car guys will know what they are looking at when they see it, it's ready to get in and drive cross country or to your favorite cruise night, hassle free and in style!

This is essentially an all new 1968 Camaro that was built using all of the modern drivetrain and creature comforts that make modern vehicles safe and fun to drive..
I will answer any and all questions..

How Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra will take on the Ford F-150 profit machine

Fri, Aug 10 2018

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — When General Motors engineers were developing the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks, some of them joined public tours of Ford's Dearborn, Mich., factory to watch aluminum-bodied F-Series trucks go down the assembly line. The redesign of the Ford F-Series trucks, launched in 2014, set a new standard for fuel economy and lightweight vehicle construction. But armed with stopwatches and trained eyes, the GM engineers believed they saw problems. "They had a real hard time getting those doors to fit," Tim Herrick, the executive chief engineer for GM truck programs, told Reuters. His team did more intelligence gathering. They bought and tore apart Ford F-Series doors sold as repair parts. Their conclusion: GM could cut weight in its trucks for a lower cost using doors made of a combination of aluminum and high-strength steel that could be thinner than standard steel, shaving off kilograms in the process. These pounds-and-pennies decisions will have major implications in the highest-stakes game going in Detroit: dominance in the world's most profitable vehicle market, the gasoline-fueled large pickup segment. What's more, GM is banking on strong sales of overhauled 2019 Silverados and GMC Sierras to fund its push into automated and electric vehicles — a business many investors see as the auto industry's long-term future. The risks are high given the hits automakers have taken from U.S. President Donald Trump's trade policies. Rising aluminum prices spurred by Trump's tariffs are driving up costs on the Ford's F-Series, while rising steel and aluminum prices likewise drag on GM results. GM also has a significant risk should the United States, Mexico and Canada fail to agree on a new NAFTA trade deal, given GM trucks built at its Silao, Mexico, factory could face a 25 percent tariff if NAFTA collapses. Major profit per truck Interviews with GM executives and a tour at its factory here in northwest Indiana provide a detailed look inside GM's plan for the most important vehicles in its global lineup. These big pickups are everything Tesla's Model 3 or Chevy's Bolt electric car is not. The mostly steel body is bolted to the truck's steel frame, rather than the one-piece body and frame electric vehicles. The majority of trucks will have a V-8 gasoline engine powering the rear wheels — like the classic GM cars of the 1950s. Some Silverados will have new four-cylinder engines, but there is no electric or hybrid offering as of now.

These are the five most ridiculous attacks on the Chevy Volt [w/videos]

Thu, Aug 7 2014

It's been a long, strange trip for the Chevy Volt from the time when the now-odd-looking concept version (above) was introduced at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show to today. And now, General Motors announced that the second-generation Chevy Volt will make an appearance at the 2015 Detroit show in January. This debut represents a victory for GM with what has easily become the most politicized car of the 21st Century. There are plenty of reasons for someone to criticize the Volt, but what's amazing is just how much anti-Volt energy has been spent not on things like the styling or how the EREV setup is not as efficient as a pure-EV powertrain. As we wait for more official information on the new Volt, we thought it would be fun to go back and look at some of the most wildly incorrect reporting and strangest attacks on the Volt from the archives. There is so much good stuff out there, it was hard to pare the list down, but these are our five favorites. Amazingly, they're not all clips from Fox News. Check 'em out below. 5. GM Is Going To Stop Making The Chevy Volt In The US Do you remember when GM was about to move Volt production to China? Well, yeah, this was reported back in early 2012 when a GM executive mentioned that the automaker would get benefits of building the Volt in the places where it sells them. This was spun into a story of GM taking Obama bailout money and then running to China. The Blaze was not happy: "Given the fact that Federal government helped itself to millions and millions of taxpayer dollars under the pretense that it was going to combat high unemployment by creating 'green jobs,' it would seem that moving research and development (and possibly manufacturing) overseas is slightly, well, counterproductive." Well, of course, that never happened. There's no way to say that GM will never build a version of the Volt in China, but the news we hear rumors of these days is that GM is going to move production of more Volt parts (specifically, the motors) to Michigan from overseas. 4. The Chevy Volt Is A Fire Trap There has never been a Volt that just spontaneously lit up while driving down the road. Yes, there were Volts that caught on fire. Yes, that's a scary thing. But there has never been a Volt that just spontaneously lit up while driving down the road. These were crashed test vehicles with destroyed batteries and plugged-in vehicles that were not the cause.

Burt Reynolds' movie re-creations fetch $379,500 in Vegas

Wed, Oct 3 2018

The recent death of Hollywood legend and automotive enthusiast Burt Reynolds helped drive up the value of four of his former cars from the 1970s and '80s, which sold last weekend at Barrett-Jackson's Las Vegas auction for a combined $379,500. Reynolds, who died Sept. 6 at age 82, had offered three Pontiac Trans Ams — two of them re-creations of the cars he drove in "Smokey and the Bandit" and "Hooper" and the third from 1984 used to promote his United States Football League team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth was a 1978 Chevrolet R30 pickup truck, styled like the one featured in "Cannonball Run." The "Bandit" re-creation, a 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am that Reynolds ordered to be as "movie-correct" as possible but featuring a custom-built 200-4R automatic transmission, sold for $192,500. The car features a freshly built Pontiac 400 cubic-inch V8 mated to a four-speed automatic and featuring all-new Butler Performance parts and air-conditioning components. Reynolds reportedly said this was his favorite car from his films, and it even came with an authentic movie-correct CB radio and CB antenna. The red retro-rocket "Hooper" '78 Firebird, with a 403 cubic-inch V8 and a three-speed automatic, hammered for $88,000. By comparison, a gold 1978 Trans Am also offered at the Las Vegas auction but not connected to Reynolds fetched $27,500. The 1987 Chevy R30 pickup was a re-creation of the Indy Hauler pace truck seen jumping over a moving freight train in "Cannonball Run." It hammered for $49,500. The fourth car never appeared in any of Reynolds' films but is instead the only surviving example of two Trans Ams used to promote the Tampa Bay Bandits of the now-defunct USFL, having been driven out onto the field by Reynolds and his late friend and co-star, Jerry Reed, during opening day one season. It also sold for $49,500. At the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction in 2016, Reynolds accompanied a 1977 Trans Am used to promote "Bandit" onto the auction block. That car sold for $550,000.
