For sale is a beautiful 1989 Chevy Camaro that has been restored and upgraded better than original.

History:  This car was purchased in 2004.  Restoration began with full tear down, repaint, motor and transmission upgrade which took the next 4 years to complete.

Final outcome was a restored 1989 Camaro with L98 Chevy 350 TPI fuel injection, Fourth Gen T-56 manual 6 –Speed manual transmission, modified suspension with 17 inch aluminum wheels.  Infinity G35 Laser Red was used to highlight the body with new front sheet metal, 2 inch cowl hood, and 5 inch rear spoiler.  Interior has been updated to 1991 specifications with gauges, new fabric all around, Kenwood radio with dual 12 inch subwoofers in rear cargo area surrounded by carbon fiber enclosure.  T-Tops have been painted and received new seals and rest is the original GM rear cargo storage bag on those nice days.

Only 3,500 miles have been clocked on this Restoration which never saw any winter driving.  Also comes with a custom red and black cover designed to fit vehicle.

I am at a different point in my life now than several years ago and want to see it go to someone who will enjoy it as well.  The motor has plenty of power and the 6 speed really gives you the drop in rpms on the highway.  It’s truly a cruiser that glides down the road and has the control and handling of a modern day super car.  It’s rides firm and tight like off the show room floor.

Camaro was the iconic muscle car of the 1980’s and this is definitely one that will keep its heritage for future generations.  It has the same drive train as a Corvette with a slightly heavier body.  Has all of modern day comforts such as power steering, power brakes, power windows, power door locks, cruise control, rear defogger, intermittent wipers, air conditioning, even factory Air Bags.  It was designed to be driven and have fun doing so.

There are plenty of items that were probably forgotten or not listed, (such as spark plugs).

A collection of parts that will also be included.  Such as service manual, box of parts and sensors, and anything else in my possession that corresponds to a Third Gen Camaro.

The known issues are the following:

-          Airbag Clocking Spring located inside the Steering column.  This connects the airbag to the wire harness under the dash and allows the steering wheel to turn without losing connection.  A new computer and sensor were purchased prior to diagnosing the problem with a scan tool.  It is a simple fix by removing the steering wheel and then the clock spring.

-          The dash pad had a crack repaired but is still visible.  Dash pad covers are now available for purchase on the internet.

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 [w/videos]

Wed, Jan 7 2015

I think I was supposed to be back hours ago. Driving northwest on State Road 190 with a final destination deep in the heart of the Death Valley National Park, it occurs to me that I might have agreed to return after an hour or so, instead of the four I'll end up stealing, solo, in the new Z06. Somewhere in the combination of mountain vistas, arching, speed-hungry desert roads, and the sound of this titanic engine on a constant run up the rev ladder, I forgot everything I'd promised back at home base. The generous, civilized part of me worries for a moment that absconding with the new-best Corvette might have left one of my fellow journalists without a car. But the selfish part of me – the part largely in control of the rocket-launcher of a throttle under my right foot ΒΒ– says "screw it." I spent two days with the 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06, a monster of a sports car that will soon be dominating track days everywhere, and I never once was inclined to share it. Hurtling through the shattered stillness of the desert and pulling big Gs at Spring Mountain circuit, I never felt overly disposed to give up my seat. This Corvette, more than any I've yet driven, was deep enough to hold my attention; for two days, for two years, probably. With this Z06, the Corvette steps over the amazing-for-the-price category, and solidly into the best-cars-in-the-world zone. There are peripheral elements that remind me of its blue collar, Bowtie heritage, sure, but there's more that simply begs me to carry on driving... faster. Most casual car observers will be able to pick the 2015 Z06 out from its less aggressive Stingray brothers. Subtler hints include a new, more open grille, larger extractor on the taller hood and rather discreet badges on the flanks of the car. More outrageous is the finned spoiler on the rear trunk lid, and the widebody look offered from flared fenders Β– an extra 1.57 inches (40 millimeters) at their beefiest point. Even driving around performance-car-laden Pahrump, NV Β– loaded thanks to the very active community at the Spring Mountain racing resort Β– members of the local populace were turning heads, waving and generally noting the Z06 with approval when I drove through town. In Torch Red over black painted aluminum wheels, staggered at 19-inches in front and 20 at the back, the amped-up Z06 hits a new level of road presence for the C7.

NHTSA closes 4-year GM investigation, issues common sense advisory [w/video]

Thu, Apr 9 2015

Since January 2011, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been investigating a possible problem with corroding brake lines in General Motors' GMT800-platform models, like the Chevrolet Silverado and Suburban and GMC Sierra, in states with salt on their roads in the winter. However, as opposed to launching a full recall of millions of vehicles, the government is issuing a common-sense safety advisory to all drivers in snowy states to keep their vehicle's undercarriage clean. It even has a video explaining things. "Older-model vehicles, often driven in harsh conditions, are subject to corrosion over long periods of time, and we need owners to be vigilant about ensuring they, their passengers, and others on the roads are safe," said NHTSA Administrator Mark Rosekind in the announcement of the end of the investigation. The agency was clear in its report that "brake line corrosion seen in the GM vehicles was not unique," and the government "has not identified a defect that would initiate a recall order." Instead NHTSA is advising drivers, especially those of vehicles from before 2007, to wash their vehicle's undercarriage in the winter and spring to remove salt or other de-icing chemicals. It also recommends regular checks by a mechanic to make sure everything is in proper order. According to the investigation documents, for just the GMT800 platform models, NHTSA found 3,645 complaints of brake line corrosion, which included allegations of 107 crashes and 40 injuries. The issue was found to be more common in vehicles over 10 years old. GM has released a statement (embedded below) that the company "supports the consumer advisory from NHTSA urging regular maintenance and care of brake lines on older vehicles." NHTSA Closes Investigation into Brake-Line Failures NHTSA 13-15 Thursday, April 9, 2015 Agency issues safety advisory on preventing undercarriage corrosion WASHINGTON – The Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) today issued a Safety Advisory and consumer video encouraging owners of model year 2007 and older trucks, SUVs and passenger cars to inspect brake lines and thoroughly wash the underside of their vehicles to remove corrosive salt after the long winter in order to prevent brake-line failures that increase the risk of a crash.
