AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!!! NEVER BEFORE OFFERED FOR SALE!!!! According to Callaway records only 4 Camaro Supernatural C-8 Areobody convertibles were built. (2 in 1995 and 2 in 1996). This C8 Callaway Camaro was ordered by the late Otis Chandler, former owner and publisher of the Los Angeles Times. The original re-invoiced price was over $60,000. Options include aerobody modifications, 383 blueprinted Supernatural engine modifications, Brembo front brakes, Cat-back exhaust, OZ wheels and Hurst shifter. The Callaway conversion options cost over $32,000. This was the only Old Lyme Green Callaway Camaro built. Otis Chandler wanted the Camaro to match his Callaway Corvette speedster. The Camaro spent 5 years in his world class auto museum before being sold to his curator, who is the current owner. The Camaro was on display at the LA Auto Show, featured in Playboy magazine and several other publications. This Camaro is extremely rare and would make a great addition to any modern muscle car collection. Usually I will describe the vehicle condition broken down in catagories by body, interior, trunk, underside, engine, top and trunk, giving a detailed description of each. Since these are all in new condition and completely original on this very rare collector Callaway nothing else need be said. The pictures speak for themselves. The current odometer reading is just over 6163 miles and may vary a little at the time of sale. The Callaway was listed for sale in early August 2013. To the surprise of the current owner Auto Check and Car Fax listed an accident report filed 6/22/10. The Camaro has never been in an accident or had any issue in the past or present. I am still working on resolving this. This is a 2 owner car and has spent most of her life in a show room setting. I have spent countless hours trying to get to the bottom of how this is even popping up. Auto Check told me the current registered owner will need to have them subpoena them in order to obtain any information they have reported on his car. Unbelievable! We have learned through our research that this is not uncommon to have erroneous information filed on a vehicle through Auto Check and Car Fax. The paperwork goes all the way back to the original window sticker on the Camaro Convertible before it went to Callaway for the conversion. Recharge Wrap-up: NEDC's NOx problems, autonomous Chevy Volts
Mon, Dec 7 2015The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) found a significant difference in NOx emissions in Euro 6 diesel cars in NEDC and WLTC testing. While 88 percent of the cars tested met emissions standards for NEDC, NOx emissions averaged five times higher under WLTC, with only 27 percent of vehicles under the limit. WLTC is considered to be a more realistic driving cycle, using hot starts and factoring a higher top speed as well as harder and more frequent accelerations than the NEDC. Read more at Green Car Congress.GM Canada will build a fleet of autonomous 2017 Chevrolet Volts. The self-driving Volts will be deployed for testing at GM's Warren, Michigan Technical Center. Employees will be able to use a carsharing app to reserve a car, which will then drive itself to the set destination. The project will allow GM to collect important data and experience to help the company more quickly develop autonomous driving technology. Circular economy at work with electric vehicles When, over time, the batteries of a Renault electric vehicle fall the performance threshold specified for their initial automotive power duty (around 75% of initial capacity), they can still provide valuable service in "second-life" applications before end-of-life disposal at a recycling centre. Fri, 31 May 2013The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, having stared at the Impala across the showroom floor for a year, gets nips and tucks all over inspired by its larger brother. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder in the base car will get a stop-start system and 23 city miles per gallon, 35 highway, each number representing a one-mpg improvement over the 2013 car. Output is 196 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.
Opt for the 2.0-liter turbo and, while power holds steady at 259 hp, torque goes up by 14 percent to a striking 295 lb-ft (a figure Chevy calls best in the class). The final details include newly programmed transmission shift points and faster shifts, for better engaging and enjoying the added power.
Looks-wise, the grille's been reshaped to be more in line with the new Chevrolet look, a narrower upper grille hovering over a larger lower grille.
