See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"Vehicle is in great mechanical condition with only 59422 actual miles on the car. Car is 12 years old and as such, the exterior reflects this. The paint is not perfect as there are small chips and a few scuffs on the vehicle. There is also a half dollar sized spot on the passenger side that was touched up by the previous owner. At the time i purchased the car, i had planned on getting this fixed but just never got around to it. I would say that for a 12 year old vehicle, the paint is a 7 out of 10. There is also 3 small spots on the passenger side seat that appear to be small puncture marks. These marks are very small and hard to see unless you know they are there. Factory Monsoon speakers have been replaced but it still has the original Monsoon head unit."

2001 Camaro SS

Up for auction is my 2001 Camaro SS with 59,422 actual miles on it. The car, as far as I know is bone stock with the exception of a K & N air filter. The car is Navy Blue Metallic in color and has an automatic transmission. The car has the optional T-top roof and the seals are very good. One of the previous owners had the factory SS 10 spoke wheels powder coated black and these are still on the vehicle. My opinion is that the wheels look great on the car like this but Ive always liked the factory wheels. I bought this car in May of last year and had intended on keeping it. Due to an unforeseen life event, I am now forced to sell it. I want this to be perfectly clear, I am selling this car because i have to, not because anything is wrong with it.

Pros:
  • The car is in excellent mechanical condition. Everything on the car works as it should from the power seats to the air conditioner.
  • New brake pads put on less than 100o miles ago.
  • The power window motors still work well but are a bit slower than they probably used to be.
  • The leather interior, in my opinion, is in very good condition. There are a few small spots on the passenger side seat that appear to be puncture marks. These marks are very small and hard to notice unless you are looking for them. There is also a bit of wear to the side of the driver seat that is caused by entering and exiting the vehicle. This wear is common on all Camaros I have owned. The wear is only a color change and there are no tears or holes. This wear is seen in one of the pictures.
  • T-tops are in great condition. The seals all around the tops are perfect and do not allow any water to leak in. The tops themselves have no scratches.
  • As stated above, a previous owner had the factory wheels powder coated black, as well as the center caps and lug nut covers.
  • The motor is very strong. As stated, the car only has 59,422 miles on it and it is a beast. If you are looking at this listing, you probably know all of the specs so I wont waste your time boring you with the details. The automatic transmission also shifts very well. Again, I have had zero problems with this car!!!

Cons:
  • Paint- I cant lie, the paint on this car is not perfect. The car is 12 years old and the paint reflects this. Most of the car appears to still be glossy but the hood and front appear faded a bit. I am not sure if the front was repainted by a previous owner or what but the hood has definite swirl marks. You can also see a mark across the front end just under the hood. I am no paint expert so I have no idea what causes this other than age. You can see this mark in the pictures. Also, on the passenger side, near the rear, is a small half dollar sized spot that has been retouched at some point. The car was like this when i bought it and I have just never gotten it fixed. You cant really notice it from a distance but it is noticeable when you are up close. The paint that was used to retouch it is not peeling off. Other than that, there are a few rock chips that have apparently been retouched so you dont really notice them.
  • The tires on the car will need to be replaced soon. They were not great when I bought the car and I have put around 8,000 miles on it since i bought it.
  • The factory Monsoon speakers have been replaced. I didnt know if I should put this in the pros or cons so I put it here. I never liked the Monsoon speakers so to me it was good. The only thing is, whoever replaced the speakers left the Monsoon head unit in the car. I am assuming that they had replaced the unit too but replaced it with the Monsoon unit when they sold the car. The speakers sound OK with the Monsoon unit but I am sure they would sound way better with another unit.
According to the previous owner, the car has an aftermarket SLP exhaust on the car. It definitely sounds different than the last SS I had that did not have this exhaust. The SLP door sticker makes no mention of this exhaust being added so i am not sure if the previous owner added it after the fact or what. The exhaust is louder than the factory one on my last SS but it is not annoyingly loud at all. It is still mild, it just has a very nice rumble to it.

I apologize if I have left anything out or have gone on too much about certain things. t is just that I have bought cars in the past and the owners were not very truthful about their vehicle. I do not want this to be the case. I need to get rid of the car but i would be happy if someone gets it that would truly appreciate it. When I get back on my feet, I would love to get another one as this is still by favorite body style Camaro. Another thing that i want to add is that this car, as seen in the pictures, is presently sitting on a car lot in Russellville Kentucky, where I live. The car lot is called Carz N More and is located at 319 S. Franklin Street. The number there is (270) 726-1533. The owner is Jeff and if anyone wants to look at or test drive the car, you are more than welcome to do so. My name is Greg and my number is (270) 725-7018. NOTE: I do not need help selling my car so dont ask. Also, I dont give a damn about your "I work overseas and am getting this as a gift for someone else" speeches. Not interested!! If you want this car, you will have to come and get it. I WILL NOT ship this car to ANYWHERE!

There is a lien on the car as of now. I will tell you that I have been pre approved for any amount over what I get in the auction. That being said, I can't let it go for a stupid amount. Because of the paint condition of the vehicle and the fact it needs new tires, i will reflect this in my reserve price. This is an excellent chance to get an awesome vehicle for cheap. Good luck!!!

2016 Chevy Colorado grabs Motor Trend Truck of the Year award

Tue, Nov 17 2015

It's not an easy feat to win Motor Trend Truck of the Year twice in a row, but the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado managed to do just that. Thanks to the introduction of the 2.8-liter Duramax four-cylinder diesel, the magazine decided to bring the pickup back to defend the title. In more good news for the Bowtie brand, the 2016 Camaro earned the magazine's Car of the Year award. The Colorado beat a tough group of finalists to earn the nod this year, including its GMC Canyon sibling. The Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra also made this year's list. The Nissan Titan XD and latest Toyota Tacoma rounded out the challengers. A model had to shine in six criteria to earn the title: advancement in design, engineering excellence, safety, efficiency, value, and performance of intended function. Like it did with the Camaro, Motor Trend posted a story online that explained the rationale for picking the Colorado again. They praised the diesel profusely and lauded the whole platform as quite a capable hauler. This year's Motor Trend SUV of the Year honor went to the Volvo XC90. The Swedish 'ute had to win against an initial group of 16 candidates that the magazine eventually whittled down to finalists that consisted of the Honda Pilot, Lincoln MKX, the combined Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class and GLE Coupe, and Nissan Murano. "Seven-passenger people movers aren't supposed to drive like this," senior features editor Jonny Lieberman said about the Volvo in the announcement of the champions. The Honda CR-V won last year. In the explanation online, the judges applauded the XC90's new modular platform, and they loved both the T6 twin-charged engine and T8 hybrid version. The SUV's key enamored the writers, too. Before Chevrolet's Redline, there was the Saturn Red Line

Thu, Feb 9 2017

While Chevy rolls out Redline special editions across more of the lineup at this year's Chicago Auto Show, we've been eating some 'member berries and started thinking about the last time GM used the term. Back in 2004, Saturn rolled out Red Line (two words) editions of the Ion and Vue. The lineup was joined by the Sky Red Line in 2007, and the second-generation Vue kept the tradition going in 2008. This was in the heady days of the mid-2000s, before the financial crisis and GM's bankruptcy reorganization that saw the end of Saturn. The press release headline for the 2008 Sky is now cringe-worthy: "Hot-selling Sky helps drive Saturn product renaissance." Performance lineups were the hot new thing, as automakers attempted to cash in on the tuner trend popularized by The Fast and the Furious. Chevy had SS models, Pontiac had GXP, and Saturn had Red Line. Across the Detroit Metro area, Dodge had a slew of SRT models, and Ford's Special Vehicle Team brought us the SVT Lightning pickup, the SVT Focus, and a smattering of hopped-up Mustangs. The performance cred of Red Line models varied from car to car. The Ion Red Line shared the same engine as the original Chevy Cobalt SS, a 205-horsepower supercharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, 65 hp more than stock. Car and Driver tested one with a 0-to-60-mph time of 6.1 seconds and said the Ion "tears down the wall that has separated enthusiasts from the Saturn brand for so long." The Vue Red Line, meanwhile, came with the same optional Honda-sourced 3.5-liter V6 you could get in the regular Vue, and added a stiffer, lower suspension, bigger wheels with more aggressive rubber, and recalibrated steering assist. When the Vue was redesigned for the 2008 model year, the Vue Red Line was a similar proposition. The engine was now from GM, and up 7 horsepower to 257, but you could get it in both Red Line and XE trim. Aside from the tire and suspension upgrades, Red Line models now came with a unique front fascia and rear exhaust cutouts. The most exciting Red Line, of course, was the high-performance version of the Sky roadster, which shared underpinnings with its Pontiac Solstice twin. This model came with GM's hot 2.0-liter Ecotec Turbo, good for 260 horsepower. The extra power was crucial in covering up the Sky's unfortunate manual gearbox ratios, which left the non-turbo model aching for torque in lower gears. As we all know, Saturn was taken by the grim reaper in 2009 after an attempt to sell the brand to the Penske Group.

Race Recap: 2013 Indianapolis 500 better than Bollywood; all the emotion, none of the music [spoilers]

Mon, 27 May 2013

If the 2013 Indy 500 were a movie it would be the one expected to win all the little statues come awards season, and if it were an athlete it would have made spectators watch in awe as it broke record after record. And this kind of talk comes after last year's race was considered one of the best ever - the last lap hijinks in 2012 and Takuma Sato's crash leading to a podium ceremony straight out of a Golden Globes tearjerker.
But this year's race delivered more than anyone expected, from the 250,000 fans to the commentators to the IndyCar series itself and, finally, to the guy who hopped through a two-mile window on Lap 197 to take the lead and keep it until the end.
