This car has a rust-Free body and has been in storage about the last 5 years since my son purchased it from a gentleman in North Carolina!

The Engine is basically a 1970's High Nickel content that was originally a 350 with factory 4 bolt Mains. It was checked for everything necessary to build into a stroker engine to Race with, or be a wild ride driving it on the street! Meaning in the area of 600 Horsepower. A Professional machine Shop that builds engines for Nascar race teams did all the machining work on this block first, before they blueprinted and assembled this piece, and the best of all parts were used to achieve 600 HP on race gas. There has been over $2500 spent on headwork after buying the heads, that are made by AFR which are aluminum and were the best 23 degree heads made at that time, and were made to flow over 320 cfm on the intake ports and over 240 cfm on the exhaust side. This was done by putting in 2.10 int. valves and being ported by AFR'S best man. The exhaust side had port work done to and remain 1.6 inches in their size. That is well over $4500 dollars spent on just the AFR Cylinder Heads, about $ 1000 dollars to do all the block machine work, doing an overbore of .030 thousandths, square decking the block when performing this work to achieve the highest standard possible, to get the most efficient engine possible! The Crankshaft is an Eagle 4340 non twist forged steel 2 piece rear main seal unit and has a set of Wiseco Forged set of Flattop pistons, that are full floating on Eagle 4340 Forged steel H Beam 6 inch rods. The stroke is 3.75 inches with a bore size of 4.030 that makes a 383 cubic inch V-8 and the pistons are even at the deck, with the head gaskets used you get a .039 inch quench and a 12.25 to 1 compression ratio. ARP head studs and Main studs were used and loc-tited to keep this thing bulletproof. A TPIS Miniram intake with a twin 58 MM throttlebody feeds 36 pound injectors and is all controlled by a later made aftermaket computer that Accel produced, so the factory wiring harness is NOT retained as a new one came with the new computer. The car was dynotuned and setup professionally by the Guru Mike Norris, to run on pump gas 93 octane Premium! So the Horsepower is nearer to 500 as it had to be DE-tuned with over 12 to 1 Compression. Fel-Pro made those head gaskets! The camshaft is matched to the Fuel Injection and was TPIS biggest hydraulic Roller at the time part no. ZZX!  So now those heads have 1.6 aluminum roller rockers and the correct dual springs for that cam with a lift of .558 with the 1.6 rockers! BUT also used are 3/8 inch pushrods with retro roller lifters to have a killer super strong valvetrain. And to make it even stronger the AFR Rev kit is also used so this thing could run 7500 rpm all day. You would need to update the distributor and use an ignition box if you want to run 109 octane race gas and get after it. Maybe a better rearend to if you want to kick rear for real, but it ran mid 11's on the 350 before with drag radials. I have bearly broken this engine in too, Call for info on the transmission and exhaust or anything else. Joe at 317 529-6648. No texts please, call or email through Ebay thanks, too. Joe B.

Chevy Spark EV could be coming to Midwest later this year

Tue, Jun 10 2014

Ohio is not known as a hotbed of EV sales – if anything, the state is a bit anti-EV, thanks to a legislative fight against Tesla's direct sales model – but it might be on Chevrolet's short list to expand the market for the Spark EV in the near future. The latest official GM press release on the battery-powered Spark still says the car is "available exclusively in California and Oregon," but Hybrid Cars found four Ohio dealerships that list a Spark EV on their websites, with hints the the car will be coming to the Midwest state by the end of the summer. See, for example, here, here, here and here. But that's probably not going to happen, according to Randy Fox, GM communication's manager for passenger cars. Fox told AutoblogGreen that, "At this point in time, we don't have any official plans to expand the Spark EV beyond California and Oregon." The reason is that California and Oregon have the infrastructure to support EVs, Fox said, and GM wants to be able to support its EV customers. "We are continuing to look at other options," he said. "The selling point for electric cars today is not advertising, it's eyeballs, it's peer exposure" – John O'Dell John O'Dell, a senior editor at Edmunds.com, told AutoblogGreen that, "It makes sense for [GM] to expand sales and it makes sense to do it in a quiet manner, to get these vehicles on the road. The selling point for electric cars today is not advertising, it's eyeballs, it's peer exposure. If someone in my neighborhood has one and he likes it, then maybe I can trust him. So it's important to get these vehicles on the road." Chevy sold 182 Spark EVs last month, a significant increase over the 98 sold in April. That's still small potatoes compared to the 3,000+ Nissan Leaf EVs sold last month, but making the electric Spark available in Ohio, say, or GM's home state of Michigan could boost those numbers. AutoblogGreen called a few dealerships in Michigan to see what they had heard. One salesman said he didn't think GM had started production yet but the inventory manager for another dealership said the Spark EV is scheduled to arrive in the Midwest in "roughly the fourth quarter." What would GM's incentive be to offer the car in markets outside of California where it can gain ZEV credits with each sale?

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

This 93-car Iowa auction is like a Big 3 classic muscle museum

Tue, Aug 27 2019

Bill "Coyote" Johnson has been buying cars since high school and has amassed a collection totaling 113 vehicles, according to NBC 6 News. But time has changed his motivations and priorities, and he's decided to auction 93 of those cars, many of which are classic muscle from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Plymouth and Pontiac. The megasale will take place Sept. 14, 2019, in Red Oak, Iowa, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. A 1969 Plymouth Road Runner infected Coyote with a love for Detroit muscle when he was just a teenager, and his desire quickly turned into an obsession. He's spent the past 40 years finding, buying and working on a variety of makes and models. Unlike some collectors, Coyote didn't discriminate against certain brands and has rides from each of the Big 3 automakers. Included in the auction are Camaros, Satellites, Super Bees, Chargers, Challengers, Barracudas, Coronets, GTOs, Mustangs, Cutlasses and others. Possibly the most intriguing aspect of the auction is that all of these cars will be sold as-is with no reserve. Many of them will need work, depending on quality standards, but this seems like a golden opportunity to find a classic car without leaving a bank account in shambles.  The auctions are open for bidding online now, and the full auction will take place on September 14. Check out the full listings and bid at VanDerBrink Auctions.
