 1989 Chevy Camaro IROC Z28
V8 5.7L TPI 350ci
51453 miles

Up for sale is my 1989 Chevy Camaro IROC Z28.  I am the second owner of this car.  I bought it 4 years ago from the original owner who bought it new in 1989.

The car had 50000 miles when I purchased it and I have only driven it a few times during the spring and summer months each of the 4 years I have owned it.  The car has been garage kept since I have owned it (as well as by the original owner I was told).

The paint and body is all original.  Since I have owned the car I have had added a Flowmaster muffler, new battery, new alternator and tires.  The only other modification is the previous owner installed a HyperTech chip (128922) which is still installed today.  Other than that the car is factory original.

The interior is in very good condition, there are no rips or tears in the seats which are not worn.  Floor mats are also original and in good condition.  The only rip in the interior is a small tear in the rear speaker cover.  There are no cracks in the dash, nor arm rests.

The car still has its original paint job, there is no body damage and the car has not been in any accidents.  It also has T-Tops which is a great add for this model car.

Mechanically the car runs great and still has full power, it is extremely fun to drive.

I regret having to part with the car but with family and work commitments I do not have the time to devote to it.  I have taken great care of the car since I have owned it.  My loss is your gain for this quality of a car.  Many of these IROC's were beat, destroyed or wrecked but this one is a true survivor for someone to enjoy.

Please email me with any questions, I would be glad to answer them.

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.

Chevy Sonic shreds like a skateboard

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London.
In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around.
If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.
