1989 Chevrolet Camaro Iroc-z on 2040-cars
Somerset, New Jersey, United States
***PERFECT PROJECT CAR, SUMMER IS COMING!!! (Please read full description)***
1989 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z with a ZZ4 crate motor and Vortech Supercharger. ZZ4 is a 5.7L / 350ci V8 rated at 355hp / 405tq. Engine is blown, most likely a cracked piston. You can either rebuild it or just swap in a different motor, maybe a crate motor or an LS1. Upgraded Tuned Port Injection (TPI) with 52mm throttle body (TB), Accel Super Ram intake manifold and SLP TPI runners. SLP stainless steel 1 5/8 jet coated headers with 3'' catco cat into 3'' Hooker Aerochamber cat back going into stainless steel 4th generation Camaro Z28 exhaust tips. 6 speed manual (T56 out of a '95 Trans Am) with 3.73 posi rear end. 17x8 SLP ZR1 style 5 star aluminum wheels. Spohn subframe connectors. Car is white, was repainted in 2003. Front bumper has cracked paint that needs fixing, rest of paint needs some brightening: a good professional detail with buffing and polishing. Another option would be to Plasti Dip the whole car. Interior is mostly converted to black, it was originally red out of the factor. Seats are out of a '95 Trans Am, were reupholstered with new black leather in 2004. New black carpets, headliner, door panels, etc. There are a few pieces that are still red like some of the plastic molding and seat belts, I have a huge box of black pieces to the winning bidder with the car so converting from red to black can be completed. I really do not want to sell this car but I don't have the time or a place to keep it at this point. If I could keep it, I'd swap in a new crate motor or an LS1/LS2, get the paint fixed on the front bumper, get the car professionally detailed (buffed and polished) and it will be a sweet ride again. Would also consider Plasti Dipping the whole car instead of painting. Car puts out tons of power when it is running with this setup and handles great! Will be very sorry to see it go. |

2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray order guide hits the web
Mon, 15 Apr 2013The official debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is only part of the excitement for fans of Chevy's virtuoso sportscar. Although we got to see the car and some of its preliminary specs in Detroit and Geneva, there is still no word on pricing and some of the juicier data points we've been waiting for - such as confirmed power output, EPA estimated mileage figures and performance numbers. Until then, CorvetteBlogger has gotten its hands on the order guide for the coupe version of the car - in both base and Z51 iterations - revealing tidbits like standard and optional features and available color combinations.
Some other new details made it onto the order guide, such as our first interior specs for the coupe including slightly less hip room and headroom, more shoulder room and the same amount of legroom. To see the full order guide, head on over to CorvetteBlogger. From what we can gather, it sounds like more information will be revealed on April 25 during a party at the Corvette Museum, and for those sun worshipers patiently waiting for a convertible, it would appear you've got another model year to wait through.
GM Halts Sale Of Most Chevy Cruze Models
Fri, Mar 28 2014General Motors has told dealers to stop selling some 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Cruze compact cars. But the company won't say why. Dealers say stop-sale orders are routine and almost always made to fix a safety problem. They received the order in an e-mail Thursday, but no reason was given. The move comes as GM deals with fallout from a delayed recall of 1.6 million older small cars to fix an ignition switch problem. The company says the switches can slip out of the run position and shut down the engine. That causes loss of power steering and brakes and disables air bags. GM says the problem has been linked to 31 crashes and at least a dozen deaths. Spokesman Greg Martin says he has no details on the Cruze. GM will make Chevy Volt production announcement tomorrow
Mon, Apr 7 2014Thing are apparently happening to get the next-generation Chevy Volt ready for public consumption. The most obvious proof is in a preview of an announcement (possibly coming tomorrow) that the two main places where General Motors gets the Volt ready -the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant and the Brownstown Township battery assembly facility - will be getting big money upgrades and lots of new positions. The Hamtramck plant builds the Volt and its fancier cousin, the Cadillac ELR, as well as the global versions of the Volt. The Detroit News reports that GM will add 1,400 jobs and spend roughly $450 million at the two locations in order to build the redesigned Volt. What's less clear is exactly what the updates will bring us. We've heard that the new volt will be a 2016 model and come on a new chassis. Speculation in The Detroit News about tomorrow's announcement runs the gamut from a new compact PHEV with less electric range and a lower price (which makes sense) to an updated Volt with more electric range (heard it before) to a new all-electric vehicle (the moon shot). If there's any hints to be gleaned in the international Volts, there are also reports coming in that the Opel brand will get an all-electric vehicle that is cheaper than the Ampera. Read into that what you will. We pestered GM's Kevin Kelly on the new Volt (again) and he said (again) that he couldn't give out any more detail other than what's been reported. He just told AutoblogGreen that there will be an announcement tomorrow and that it will be about the Hamtramck and Brownstown facilities and involve the Volt. So, stay tuned.
