1988 Iroc-z 383 Stroker on 2040-cars
Peoria, Illinois, United States
I have had this Camaro for about 9 years. I bought it off of e-bay then from a guy in Wisconsin. I was told that it was repainted about 3 years before I bought it. I took the original 350 engine and the 700R4 out. Repainted the engine bay and underneath of the car. It has a ZZ383 stroker engine from GM. A TCI 700R4 automatic transmission with a built in shift kit. I had the transmission bracket, torque arm, and motor mounts powdercoated silver. I had the original TPI intake hand polished to a chrome finish, and a new lower intake manifold powdercoated chrome to match. It has a brand new aluminum radiator with a set of new fans. It has chrome water pump, alternator, and valve covers. Has headers with a 3 inch magna flow exhaust with 3.5 inch tips. It has bigger fuel injectors, polished 58x2 throttle body, and an adjustable MAF sensor. Almost all of the bolts are hex head stainless steel. Car does run and drive, but needs some more tuning before it will be street worthy. A/C and emissions have been taken out. This is still a project that needs to be finished. My loss is your gain. I have almost all receipts for the parts I have bought and any work that I have had done. On Apr-25-14 at 10:02:18 PDT, seller added the following information: I did mess up on the posting title. This is a 1988 not a 1998. |

GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics
Mon, 20 Aug 2012After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.

Just the right Camaro can change your life
Thu, Jan 22 2015Not many people can say that their car directly motivated them into a career, but that's exactly the case for Adam Martin and his 1968 Chevrolet Camaro that he calls Lucy. Martin bought the pony car in primer when he was just 16, and it helped foster his profession in restoring classic cars. Beyond just being a very cool ride for a teenager, every change to Lucy was an opportunity to hone a new automotive skill for Martin. Whether figuring out how to paint a car or building the 454-cubic-inch (7.4-liter) big block V8, the Camaro offered a platform for experimentation. This latest episode of Petrolicious gets personal about the bond between man and machine for this 18-year ongoing project. And even if the story doesn't immediately grab you, Lucy has a great voice and can do a mean burnout. 2014 Chevrolet SS makes its live debut
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Chevrolet showed off the new 2014 SS in an airport hangar last night, its first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan in the US since the Impala SS from 1997. We'll have more to say about the SS later today, but this is the sedan that Chevrolet sees as the final piece in restoring its performance credentials. For those of you looking for a manual transmission, however, that wish will go unfulfilled - at least for now: the only two options buyers will have are the color and whether or not they want a sunroof.
We'll work on getting some more angles (in better light) today at Daytona International Speedway, but with fans seeing the car for the first time, we don't hold out much luck of getting a clear shot. So for now, enjoy the high-res gallery above.
