1987 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 on 2040-cars
Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States
Up for sale is a very amazing Camaro with tons of great history. I have the pleasure of being the third owner and recently just acquired this car due to a sad passing of a great friend. The Camaro was owned by a true car guy who pored tons of love into taking great care of this classic Camaro. My friend was in poor health for years and hadn't been able to even drive or enjoy his "hot rod" for some time, last records shown he hadn't had it out on the streets since 2011. When I say records I'm not kidding since he purchased the car from its first owner in 1989 he has kept records of when he drove it, where he went, how much fuel was added, and what repairs he made along the way. This Camaro has been driven and does have 100k miles now but I will tell you this from his records its never seen snow and rarely seen rain. His records said 2009 it got caught in a light rain and sat until the roads were dry enough to come home. It's not an easy task to sell this car but I've always told my good friend that one day I'd find a great place for his car to continue being loved and taken well care of. I would love to see this car purchased for the intent of being added to someone's collection of just purchased by a true Camaro Lover who will take over where my friend left off just a few short months ago. I have been lucky enough to have help from some local friends in the high end car business getting the car cleaned up and pictures taken to show the overall quality of this car. Serious bidders and collectors only

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works
Fri, 22 Mar 2013When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.

2016 Chevy Volt will not need premium gas
Wed, Oct 29 2014Buried in the new technical details of the 2016 Chevy Volt released yesterday was a throwaway line about a small but important change that's due to the new 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. The first-gen Volt has always required premium gas but the new powerplant will be happy burning plain old regular. The Volt's chief engineer, Andrew Farah, told AutoblogGreen that the change was due to today's Volt owners explaining they were not happy paying for top-shelf petroleum. "The ability to use regular unleaded was based directly on customer feedback," he said. "Since the range extender is an all-new engine, it was optimized to use regular unleaded at the outset. Using regular fuel will not have effect on vehicle acceleration or other performance factors." As Larry Nitz, GM's executive director of vehicle electrification, told AutoblogGreen yesterday, the new engine is more powerful and quieter than the outgoing 1.4-liter engine that's used in the current Volt. Fuel economy and EV range specs for the next-gen Volt are not expected until the full car is revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
