In this auction you are bidding on :

..... 1984 CHEVY Z28 IROC CAMARO  ....

I don’t want to sell this car but I need the money and it just came out of storage from the past 4 years and it needs mostly minor repairs from sitting.

The Car is a 1984 Chevy Camaro Z28 Iroc.

Has the following equipment:

-         305 cubic inch high output engine with a 4 barrel carburetor.

-         5 speed Manual Transmission.

-         Glass T-Tops.

-         Flow Master Muffler. Sounds amazing.

-         Power Windows and Locks.

-         Power Steering.

-         Air Conditioning.

-         Power Seats.

The Body is just about rust free. On the front right fender is a small dimple. There are also a couple of scratches. There is also a section on the roof and down the side where the paint is sun burned. Also the under carriage has no rust or rot.

All of the Glass is good.

From sitting in a garage for the past 4 years it does need some repairs, mostly minor.

-         The AC does not work. (it never did and I never tried to fix it)

-         It is going to need a clutch in the future. It works fine now but some time it will grind when putting it in a certain gear.

-         Needs a head liner. Also needs the rubber weather stripping for the T-Tops.

-         The drivers door lock assembly is loose, I think the clip that holds the lock came off.

-         The power release switch for the tail gate does not work.

-         The Power Seats do not work. (they never did and I never tried to fix it).

-         Valve cover gaskets are leaking oil.

-         Speedometer stopped working.

There may be a couple of other minor things that might need attention, but for now this is all that I can recall.

The Car is a Good Solid Car that needs some repairs that would make an excellent car to restore. Or it can be driven like it is.

Corvette Stolen In Detroit Returned To Owner After 33 Years

Wed, Jun 25 2014

A Detroit man had his stolen Corvette returned 33 years after it disappeared while parked on one of Detroit's main drags, according to ABC 7. The last time George Talley saw his 1979 Corvette was on a July day in 1981, when it disappeared from its parking spot on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit. He had given up hope of ever seeing his car again, until a phone call from AAA brought his sporty ride home. Authorities had come across a Corvette with a questionable VIN in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. When they ran the number Talley's stolen car report came up. The car is still in pretty good shape and only has 47,000 miles on the odometer. Talley wasn't sure how he could get the car back home, but General Motors stepped in and agreed to cover the cost of bringing the 'Vette home. Talley has always had a passion for Detroit-made muscle cars. "I've always liked Corvettes. It was attractive. The ladies like 'em," Talley told ABC 7.

GM Halts Sale Of Most Chevy Cruze Models

Fri, Mar 28 2014

General Motors has told dealers to stop selling some 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Cruze compact cars. But the company won't say why. Dealers say stop-sale orders are routine and almost always made to fix a safety problem. They received the order in an e-mail Thursday, but no reason was given. The move comes as GM deals with fallout from a delayed recall of 1.6 million older small cars to fix an ignition switch problem. The company says the switches can slip out of the run position and shut down the engine. That causes loss of power steering and brakes and disables air bags. GM says the problem has been linked to 31 crashes and at least a dozen deaths. Spokesman Greg Martin says he has no details on the Cruze. Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
