For Sale and at absolutely no reserve starting at ONE PENNY and selling to the highest bidder in a 5 day auction. An 1981 Chevy Camaro CONVERTIBLE!!!  You may be saying to yourself, "They didn't make a convertible in 1981." You are CORRECT. BUT, a coach conversion company (possibly NCE/National Coach Engineering in Michigan) bought these cars from the factory.

According to the VIN, this car started out life as a 3.8L V6 Coupe. It was converted to a Z28 clone convertible along with an engine switch to a 350 V8 with a four barrel carburetor and functioning ram air hood. Raised white letter tires with matching painted wheels. Single exhaust into one then back out to duals. I removed the muffler and put in a piece of pipe. it has a nice rumble to it but nothing obnoxious as there is still a catalytic converter on it. It has an automatic transmission, (350 Turbo) and a B&M Quick Silver shifter. It has a gray tweed interior that is in good condition.  Comes equipped with A/C but no guarantees. I'm not going to tell you, "All it needs is a recharge." (We've all heard that one before!)  The car runs very well and I get thumbs up wherever I go. I replaced the yellowed and cracked back plastic window. Now it is nice and clear and flexible! Looks super. The roof (non power) is serviceable/useable and I have shown the areas that have been patched in the pictures. I always get the super sized photos and you can magnify each one for greater detail. I highlighted the nicks and paint issues where possible to show the accurate condition of the car.

I have had the top down for a few weeks covered with the boot so the pics show the top as a bit wrinkled. I put it back down after pics. The car is and has been in a garage. The hood is a little more red than the fenders so there must have been a repaint in the past. Bumpers and nose piece are a bit faded. The detail really did a lot for the look of the car and it really shines!

As this is a 5 day auction, if you would like to talk about the car, send me a message through this auction along with your phone number and I'll call. The car should make it on a longer trip, but if you need help in getting it to you, I have a car hauler and will deliver up to 500 miles for $1.00 per loaded mile. Any further and we'll need to talk. Good luck in the auction and feel free to email and talk.

AMC Trans Am Javelin SST, an ultra-rare underdog, is up for auction

Sat, Sep 9 2023

Among the rarest of the American muscle cars that went racing in the early Seventies — cars including the Camaro Z/28 and the Boss 302 Mustang — the 1970 AMC Trans Am Javelin SST may be the most hard to find, and among the most valuable. Only 100 units of this unique Javelin were produced, and one of them is up for auction at the Mecum event in Dallas on September 20. The Trans Am Javelin was fashioned in a patriotic livery of tricolor paint — red, white and blue — and arrived after the American Motors Corporation had decided in 1968 to compete in the Trans Am racing series against Ford and General Motors. The company's chief driver, Mark Donohue, would dominate the 1971 season, taking seven wins in his Javelin AMX and that yearÂ’s SCCA Trans-Am Championship. AMC took the trophy with 82 points, well ahead of Ford's 61, Chevrolet's 17 and Pontiac's paltry 7. The example listed for auction came equipped with a 390-cubic-inch V-8 engine with 325 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 420 pound-feet of torque, power steering and brakes, dual exhaust, BorgWarner four-speed manual transmission and Hurst competition shifter. Its “ram induction system” sealed a chamber around the air filter so that cool air from the functional hood scoop would be funneled into the intake. This JavÂ’s factory price was $3,995 — a mere $32,000 or so in today's money, though it was expensive by the standards of the time. The 100 Trans Ams were among 19,714 Javelin units built in 1970, so they started out rare, and today the surviving examples are highly collectible, if and when they come up for sale. No bid estimate is available yet. Related Video: Motorsports Chevrolet Ford Pontiac Auctions Automotive History Racing Vehicles Classics

Supercharged 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 takes the C7 beyond the ZR1

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

The Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.
After a bright-yellow false start, here is the real thing: the fourth-generation, 2015 Corvette Z06. If Chevrolet makes a ZR1 version of the C7 Corvette, it's going to be absolutely mega, because the Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.

New Bright creating exclusive 1:8 scale radio-controlled C7 Corvette

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

If you want a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette but can't quite save up enough pennies for the monthly payment, we have good news for you. Toymaker New Bright has pulled the covers off of its 1:8 scale remote-controlled version of the American sports car. Complete with a very detailed interior and LED headlights, this large-scale R/C is as close as most of us will ever come to having one of the menacing Chevrolet models to call our very own. New Bright still hasn't released pricing or availability, but word has it the coupe should hit the market soon.
Right now, it appears as if the C7 will hit shelves in Torch Red, though we don't know if other colors are planned as well. The good news is that New Bright isn't exactly turning its back on the old C6 - representatives say the company will continue to make its popular C6R racecar for those who prefer round taillights.
