Car Description: 1979 Camaro, believed to be Berlinetta model in addition to Z28 but unable to verify. We purchased this year after going to Several Car shows and deciding we wanted a classic car to restore as a show car. Problem is, we weren't ready for such a task. This car was purchased from the second owner of the car from Hagerstown, MD. He purchased to form into a drag car but was unable to complete so was selling it. They rebuilt the original matching numbered engine from "bottom up." During this time they removed A/C and heater and did not replace. Otherwise, the car frame is solid, transmission is smooth, and it rides and drives great. I had our mechanic, who loves the older model cars, check it over. He had to replace the power steering line because of a leak and the parts supplied did not exactly fit after trying several different auto parts stores but now just has small, not noticeable, drip from power steering. Otherwise, he checked out everything and engine was solid, he thinks they have a "mild Cam" (i know little about engines and cars, hence selling it, but apparently this gives the engine even more power. The transmission and frame were also solid. We have had it several months and have Antique tags on it. My 13 year old son loves it, so him an I go for Sunday drives or pick up ice cream or pizza sometimes and it starts every time and drives beautifully. IT IS FAST and if you give it some gas, their is no delay in moving down the road quickly. The exterior paint job is not perfect but not bad either, close up, you can find some flaws but just driving down the street, we get comments all the time on how "cool" the car is. The interior isn't bad either, the dash and front seats need the most work, the rear seats are just about mint and carpet is newly replaced. for the most part, it appears to be all original except for new carpet, stereo that doesn't work, and the seat covers on the front seats (however bucket seats themselves, are original). If you have ever wanted a good looking camaro, corvette, nova, firebird, GTO, etc, this is a decent muscle car to look at and drive!

General Motors shaking up its marketing... again
Wed, 13 Mar 2013One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")
Texas sues GM, saying it tricked customers into sharing driving data sold to insurers
Wed, Aug 14 2024Texas filed a lawsuit Tuesday against GM over years of alleged abuse of customers' data and trust. New car owners were presented with a "confusing and highly misleading" process that was implied to be for their safety, but "was no more than a deceptively designed sales flow" that surrendered their data for GM to sell. The suit contends that at no point was selling driving data ever even suggested as a possibility, putting GM in violation of the state's consumer protection laws. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is seeking a jury trial and at least $10,000 per offense (every GM car sold in the state since 2015) and a hefty add-on of $250,000 in cases where the victim was over 65. Texas seems to be flying high after a recent $1.4 billion settlement from Meta over other privacy concerns. This may well be a way to solve any pending budgetary issues in the Lone Star State.
