This is an excellent opportunity for vintage Camaro collectors. 1972 Z28, four speed, with some rare factory
options. Same owner since 2002. Originally an Oklahoma car. Still has 1978 Oklahoma inspection sticker affixed to
original windshield. Runs and drives as well as it looks. Impeccable repaint of the original Cranberry Red finish
with Black stripes. All original glass, chrome, stainless, and interior. Undercarriage is primarily original.
Odometer reads 50,942. There is no documentation, but the owner history and condition of car indicates this is the
original mileage. Less than 800 miles logged since 2002. Since the repaint, only driven to exercise the mechanical
components and driven to a few shows and cruises. Otherwise, stored in a secure garage. One of less than 1,000 four
speed Z28’s manufactured in 1972. These don’t come up for sale often, as the extremely low production numbers
classify them as rare examples. This is one of the nicest 1972 Z28’s you will find for sale that have only
undergone partial restorations and maintained most original components in unmolested form.

EXTERIOR:
As stated above, dry Oklahoma car most of it’s life. All original body panels are laser straight. This was a
frame up restoration, due to the excellent condition of the car. Body was disassembled, all panels were massaged
and prepped, and refinished in the original factory code 75 Cranberry Red with code YF8 Black stripes. The quality
of paint would be accurately described as excellent. The finish is uniform. No irregularities. No blotches or
uneven shades or hues. Buffed to a mirror gloss. Hours were dedicated to aligning and fitting all body panels.
Please look at the file of photos. Fits and gapment are precise and excellent. Bumpers are original and in
excellent condition. Remaining original chrome, stainless, emblems, and brightwork also in excellent condition. D80
front and rear spoiler. Original tinted glass is in excellent condition. Dual color keyed sport mirrors. First year
for the course grille mesh, and grille is in great shape. Z28 five spoke sport wheels have been refinished, with
trim rings and center caps. BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires, P235/60R15. Z21 exterior style package- Body colored door
handle inserts, bright accented parking lights, headlights, and backup lights. Bright accented window, body, sill,
and hood moldings.
ENGINE AND DRIVE TRAIN:
The heart of this beautiful Z28 is the 350 Cu. In. LT1 engine built to LT1 specs. Correct 3970010 casting number,
but not the original block. Casting date is L58, indicating a four bolt main block built for 1969 production..
The remaining components of the build are the correct OEM LT1 parts. Correct Holley four barrel carburetor-
List#6239- GM#3999263. 780 CFM. Carb functions perfectly. Automatic choke works well. Correct Z28 aluminum hi rise
intake manifold. Correct 2.02”/1.60” heads. 76.18cc combustion chambers. 9:1 compression. Solid lifters,
.458” intake and .484” exhaust. Forged crank. Flat top pistons. Single point distributor with vacuum. Dual
snorkel air cleaner. Stock exhaust manifolds have been replaced with Hooker Competition Series headers. Full
aluminized dual exhaust with transverse muffler. New heavy duty radiator.
This engine was rated back in 1972 at 255 HP. Keep in mind, due to more stringent insurance and government
regulations, GM started publishing net horsepower ratings, taken at the rear wheels with all accessories installed.
Previous years used gross horsepower, taken at the flywheel with no accessories installed. Therefore, even though
the HP did fall off a little bit on paper (also due to reducing compression from 11:1 to 9:1), the Z28 still had
plenty of power. For comparison, the 1972 396 was rated at 240 HP.
Eleven inch heavy duty clutch. Muncie M21 four speed transmission. Ten bolt rear differential with optional 4.10
gear with posi traction. Aftermarket bolt on adjustable traction bars have been installed. Original F41 suspension
with heavy duty shocks and springs. Rear stabilizer bar. One inch front stabilizer bar. Power disc brakes on the
front, drum on the rear. Manual steering. Undercarriage still displayed the original factory undercoating. At the
time of the repaint, the restoration shop put the car on the rack, cleaned and touched up the undercoating. The
idea was to adhere as closely to factory appearance as possible.
INTERIOR:
Complete interior is original, with the exception of the carpet and sill plates. When the car was repainted, all
the seals, weatherstripping, and jam seals were replaced. The quality of paint in the door jams and inner doors is
the same as the exterior of the car. Also, look at the photos of the bottom of the doors. Seats, door panels,
headliner and package shelf in excellent shape. Dash and dash pad also in excellent condition. Remote driver
mirror. Factory AM 8 track stereo. 6,500 RPM redline tachometer. 130 MPH speedometer. Fuel, amps, water temp
gauges. Clock. Stewart Warner oil pressure gauge installed under the dash. Hurst shifter. Remote trunk release
located in glove box. Factory sport wheel.
TRUNK:
Trunk is untouched original, with original splatter paint. Solid as a rock. New spare is mounted on the original
wheel. Original jack is present. Even the original jack cover is still in place.
This beautiful Z28 would be a valued addition to any Camaro enthusiast’s collection. Search the internet. Very
few 1972 examples are offered for sale, due to rarity and low production numbers. Don’t miss this opportunity.

Mary Barra reportedly confirms GM's electric pickup truck plans
Tue, Apr 30 2019According to Motor Authority, CEO Mary Barra confirmed General Motors' intentions to build an electric pickup truck this week. Whether or not it would be an all-new vehicle is unknown. The news comes not even a week after Ford announced a $500 million investment in electric-vehicle startup Rivian. First, electric powertrains were integrated into cars. Then came the crossovers and the SUVs. Naturally, then, the next wave will be pickup trucks. Ford is set to produce an electric F-150, Rivian has the R1T, and now General Motors has reportedly confirmed its plans to introduce a competitor into the field. The article says the topic was brought up in a recent investor call as part of a brief overview of the automaker's electrification strategy. That's where the details end, however, as there is no indication of a timeline, what GM brand would carry the truck, or whether it would be an entirely new product or an adaptation of a current model. The latter seems most likely, which points to the Chevrolet Silverado or the GMC Sierra as possibilities. Chevrolet has been GM's electrification leader this decade with the Bolt and Volt, so an electric Silverado would align well with that messaging and branding. However, an electric pickup would likely be a pricier premium product, which could align it better with GMC. Autoblog has reached out to GM for comment and will update this space when we get a response. Volvo and GM team with Amazon for in-car deliveries
Tue, Apr 24 2018Volvo and GM are the first automakers to pair their vehicles with a new service from Amazon that lets owners have their packages delivered inside their cars, without them having to be there. The service will initially be rolled out in 37 U.S. cities at no extra charge to Amazon Prime members with a Volvo On Call or OnStar account, and it works with same-day, two-day and standard shipping. It's intended as an alternative for people who don't want to risk having their package stolen from their front porch or receive deliveries at their workplace, and both automakers say it's an example of how they're embracing innovation as a way to make their customers' lives easier. Volvo released a video (above) showing how the service works. Users download the Amazon Key App (or " Ama-zin," as the narrator pronounces it) and link their Amazon Prime account with their Volvo On Call account — or OnStar, in the case of GM-branded vehicles. Once they register their delivery location in a publicly accessible location, users can select the "In-Car" option at checkout. They get a notification when the delivery is en route and once it's completed and the car is relocked. Volvo has been offering in-car delivery in certain European countries since 2015 through its Volvo On Call platform, which enables services like the ability to send calendar-based navigation destinations directly to the vehicle, find nearby gas stations and help locate the vehicle when you forget where you parked it. Volvo says the platform is now available in roughly 50 countries and covers more than 90 percent of its global sales. The service is compatible with 2015 or newer Volvo, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC vehicles. Volvo says it's available to the majority of Volvo owners, while GM says more than 7 million vehicle owners can qualify. The service is expected to roll out to more cities later. Junkyard Gem: 1987 Chevrolet Turbo Sprint
Sun, Feb 6 2022Fifteen years ago, I wrote my first-ever automotive article under the name Murilee Martin, and it didn't take me long to start writing about one of my favorite automotive subjects: the junkyard. Before I'd refined my system for documenting discarded vehicles, however, I shot a lot of boneyard photos that never got used. For today's Junkyard Gem, I have four shots from early 2007 of one of the rarest turbocharged machines of the 1980s: the Chevrolet Turbo Sprint. The Chevrolet Sprint was really a rebadged Suzuki Cultus, from the pre-Geo era when General Motors sold the Isuzu Gemini as the Chevrolet Spectrum, the Daewoo LeMans as the Pontiac LeMans and the Toyota Corolla as the Chevrolet Nova (soon enough, the Spectrum became a Geo, and the Nova became the Prizm). The second-generation Cultus appeared in 1988, becoming the Geo Metro on our shores the following year. The Turbo Sprint was available for just the last two years of the Sprint's 1985-1988 American sales run, and it appears that just a couple of thousand were sold; if I'd known at the time just how rare they were, I'd have shot more photos of this one at the now-defunct Hayward Pick Your Part. The turbocharged 993cc three-cylinder produced 70 horsepower, 22 better than the naturally-aspirated version. Since the Turbo Sprint weighed just 1,620 pounds (that's about 500 pounds lighter than a barely more powerful '22 Mitsusbishi Mirage), it was plenty of fun to drive. For 1988, the regular Sprint hatchback cost $6,380 while the Turbo Sprint listed at $8,240 (that's about $15,375 and $19,855 today, respectively). Believe it or not, a Turbo Sprint actually raced in the 24 Hours of Lemons 10 years ago, though it didn't end well. This ad is for the regular Cultus, not the Cultus Turbo, but the screaming guitars sound reasonably turbocharged. For the most part, Chevy Sprint marketing was all about cheap purchase price and stingy fuel economy… at a time when gasoline prices were cratering. Related Video:
