This Big Block 69 Super Sport Camaro would make a nice daily driver.
When I bought it 30 years ago it was Daytona Yellow with a Black Top.
It has a .030 over, 1972 454 cubic inch rat motor in it and it runs great.
It has a recently rebuilt Muncie 4 Speed in it, with an OE Hurst shifter.
The 12 bolt rearend has 3:08 gears, and an OEM Eaton 3 series Posi.
This is a Van Nuys California car with a clear California Pink Slip/Title.
The engine in the car runs excellent, on straight low octane pump gas.
The 396 pinged on pump gas, due to the 10:25 to 1 compression ratio.
This Camaro was built the first week of February 1969 at the Van Nuys plant, the 396 in the pictures came with the car when I bought it and it is dated January 29th 1969 or A 29, 1969.
The engine runs and still has 50 pounds oil pressure at an idle. It has never been torn down before and is standard bore with the OE steel shim head gaskets and nylon/aluminum gear.
This Camaro had factory air conditioning, power steering and a factory AM/FM radio when I purchased it over 30 years ago. Unfortunately I sold the radio to a guy in Canada years ago.
As you can see in the pictures the inside of both rear wheel well openings were cut/modified.
That is all of the bad news, the good news is that all of the sheet metal with the exception of the 2 front fenders is the original sheet metal installed by Fisher in 1969. The 2 front fenders sustained some damage in 1975 and were replaced with what we now call NOS fenders by the local Chevrolet dealer in Monterey/Seaside. There is absolutely NO rust in the floor pan, rocker panels, shock towers, quarter panels, roof, trunk, doors etc. It is a California Camaro.
The 396 is included and it's 99.9 percent complete as built in the TowandaNY plant in 1969. When I bought the car we wire wheeled the underside and painted it with black Imron paint.
This is a nice solid car and I have some spare parts for it, including the original shock mount plates and a spare set of OEM leaf springs if you would like to go back to the smooth factory ride it originally had without the "slapper bars" on it. The Muncie shifts like it did new in 1969.
Make me a reasonable offer and I'll setup a "Buy it Now" for this auction and sell you the car.

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
Do you guys like trucks?
Wed, Jan 17 2018Do you guys like trucks? If the answer is yes, boy do we have the show for you! The 2018 North American International Auto Show is lousy with 'em. Yeah, we saw the new Ram 1500, Chevy Silverado and Ford Ranger, but that's just scratching the surface. There are big trucks, little trucks, clean trucks, dirty trucks, old trucks, new trucks, red trucks, blue trucks. It's like a Dr. Seuss book. Anyway, we made a little video for you truck nuts (see what I did there?). Check it out above, and if you're looking for more serious coverage of the Detroit Auto Show, we've got it, along with a ton of images and other videos from the show floor. Enjoy! The best Super Bowl car commercials from the last 5 years
Wed, Jan 28 2015If you've been dipping into the Autoblog feed over the past days and weeks, you wouldn't even have to be a sports fan to know the Super Bowl is coming up. Automakers have been teasing their spots for the big game, dropping them days early, fully-formed onto the Internet and otherwise trying to amp up the multi-million-dollar outlays that they've made for air time on the biggest advertising day of the year. And, we're into it. The lead up to the Super Bowl is almost akin to a mini auto show around these parts; with automakers being amongst the most prolific advertisers on these special Sundays. The crop of ads from 2015 looks as strong as ever, but we thought we'd take a quick look back at some of our favorite spots from the last five years. Take a look at our picks – created from a very informal polling of Autoblog editors and presented in no particular order – and then tell us about your recent faves, in Comments. Chrysler, Imported From Detroit Chrysler, Eminem and a lingering pan shot of "The Fist" – it doesn't get much more Motown than 2011's Imported From Detroit. With the weight of our staffers hailing from in and around The D, it's no wonder that our memories still favor this epic Super Bowl commercial (even though the car it was shilling was crap). Imported really set the tone for later Chrysler ads, too, repeated the formula: celebrity endorsement + dramatic copy + dash of jingoism = pulled car-guy heartstrings. Mercedes-Benz, Soul teaser with Kate Upton One of our favorite Super Bowl commercials (and yours, based on the insane number of views you logged) didn't even technically air during the game. Mercedes-Benz teased its eventual spot Soul with 90-seconds worth of Kate Upton threatening to do her best Joy Harmon impression. (Teaser indeed.) It doesn't win points for cleverness, use of music, acting, or any compelling carness, but it proved that Mercedes' advertisers knew how to make a splash in the Internet Age. And, hey, it's still classier than every GoDaddy commercial. Kia, A Dream Car. For Real Life Like the Mercedes video above, the initial draw here is a pretty lady; in this case the always stunning Adriana Lima. But this Kia commercial really delivers the extra effort we expect while scarfing crabby snacks and homemades, too. First of all, Motley Crue. Second, a cowboy on a bucking rhino. Enjoy yet again.
