More infos regarding my cat at: adriannesquibb@juno.com . My 1969 Camaro Z11 Indy Pace Car. This is a numbers matching vehicle.
This one is a bit unique in that it is from the factory with convertible - manual trans – A/C, a rare
combination. It has 350/300Hp, front disk brakes, manual steering, manual windows, manual top. It runs and sounds
great. Obviously, it is a major head-tuner when it’s out on the road. It’s definitely a fun car to own.
I don’t know a lot about its history. I purchased it from the Volo Car Museum in Volo, IL in Aug of 2002 for
$29,995. It had broken suspension, worn interior and rusted up engine compartment.
I had the car fully vetted and inspected by Duffy’s Classic Cars immediately after purchase. They verified
authenticity and numbers matching. A previous owner riveted in a trunk floor and from underneath you can see the
original trunk floor is rusted through under the well for the convertible top. Rest of the car is sound. The body
sheet metal is great. Doors hang properly. The paint is not great. It appears to have been repainted at some
point. That paint, although it looks great from 15’ away, is chipping and spider web cracking in areas.
During my ownership, I have spent thousands of dollars upgrading or restoring primarily the suspension, interior
and engine compartment. I have put only a few thousand miles on the car, and it has seen only sunny weather.
I’ve probably washed it twice. No idea how old(or safe) the Goodyear tires are at this point.
Primary work performed: engine rebuilt by local muscle car shop in late 2011, new suspension, new interior, engine
compartment completely renovated (except firewall paint). As a result of this work, I have hundreds of new and
original parts left over – far too many to list, but they include all AC components/hoses, steering wheel,
partial cowl induction parts, extra carb(not correct), original dash fuel gauge, brake booster, alternator, and on
and on. I have receipts for over $14,000 invested.
I know this is going to be hard to believe, but the headlight doors are working properly!! As of this writing.
Can’t guarantee that for the future.
The interior is completely new. For the purposes of this ad, “New” means I installed it. It could have
happened in 2004 or 2007, so technically it’s not new(2015), but it also has sat virtually unused since
installed. I upgraded to the rosewood steering wheel. I rebuilt the seats down to replacing worn or broken
springs, as needed. The clock shows correct time twice a day. The sending unit in the fuel tank needs to be
replaced.
Engine was completely rebuilt by a local muscle car shop in 2011, has less than 300 miles on the rebuild.
I have added stainless brake lines, new fuel lines, new suspension, new exhaust, new clutch/pressure
plate/through-out bearing, all new AC components, all new ignition components, wire harnesses, washer system, cowl
induction system, brake booster and components, voltage regulator and similar electrical components, radiator
recently re-cored, vacuum lines, headlight door rebuild, new decals, and so on.

GM follows up Lambda CUV stop-sale with tire recall

Mon, Feb 9 2015

In late January, General Motors announced a stop-sale for about 6,281 examples of the 2015 Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave because of the possibility for the treads cracking on their 18-inch Goodyear Fortera HL tires. At the time, GM said that this would also eventually lead to a safety campaign to repair the problem, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has just published those details. GM's recall covers 5,876 of the three Lambda platform crossovers to replace their tires. According to NHTSA, if the treads crack, there could be a loss of pressure and possible failure. Goodyear already announced its own recall of the tires after internal testing found small tread cracks. The company did not believe this was safety issue, but the problem did put the rubber out of compliance with federal laws. The business's safety campaign covered an estimated 48,512 tires. Of those, around 32,000 were reportedly made for GM to either be fitted to vehicles or sold as replacements. The remainder went to the aftermarket. Goodyear's portion of the recall is expected to begin around February 20. RECALL Subject : Tire Tread Cracking/FMVSS 110 Report Receipt Date: JAN 28, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V044000 Component(s): TIRES Potential Number of Units Affected: 5,876 All Products Associated with this Recall Vehicle Make Model Model Year(s) BUICK ENCLAVE 2015 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE 2015 GMC ACADIA 2015 Details Manufacturer: General Motors LLC SUMMARY: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Buick Enclave vehicles manufactured December 9, 2014, to January 14, 2015, 2015 Chevrolet Traverse vehicles manufactured December 9, 2014, to January 20, 2015, and 2015 GMC Acadia vehicles manufactured December 9, 2014, to January 16, 2015, and all equipped with Goodyear P255/65R18 Fortera HL tires. These vehicles are equipped with tires that may experience tread cracking. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims and Motor Home/Recreation Vehicle Trailer Load Carrying Capacity Information for Motor Vehicles with a GVWR of 4,536 kilograms (10,000 pounds) or Less." CONSEQUENCE: If the tire treads crack, a loss of tire pressure and possible tire failure may result, increasing the risk of a crash. REMEDY: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires that were manufactured within a specific date range, free of charge.

GM Recalling Another 2.7 Million Vehicles In Five Separate Campaigns

Thu, May 15 2014

The recalls keep rolling in from General Motors, evidently keen to avoid repeating the mistakes of the ignition-switch debacle and clean house. This time they're all coming at once, with five separate recalls announced together covering approximately 2.7 million vehicles. The largest of the five actions involves over 2.4 million units of the previous-generation Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx, Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura in order to fix brake light wiring harness, which have been found to be susceptible to corrosion. The recall is separate from the 56k Aura sedans which GM recently recalled over faulty shift cables, not to mention the previous massive recall of 1.3 million vehicles – some of them the same models – but appears to have resulted from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation that started with the G6 almost a year ago. The second-largest campaign involves the 2014 Chevy Malibu, specifically those fitted with GM's 2.5-liter engine and stop/start system, approximately 140,000 examples of which has been found to have problematic brakes. The issue does not appear to be connected to the recall of 8k Malibu and Buick LaCrosse sedans (also involving brake woes) which we reported upon last week. Four crashes have been reported in such models, but GM admits it's not yet clear if the problem was a contributing factor in the accidents. A further 112k Corvette models from the 2005-2007 model years are being called in for problems with their low-beam headlamps resulting from a flexing relay control circuit wire that's not meant to bend. GM says it is "aware of several hundred complaints" about this issue, but notes that there have been no reports of related accidents. In addition, over 19k examples of Cadillac CTS from the 2013 and 2014 model years are being recalled over windshield wipers that might not work after a jump start. Finally, GM is also bringing in 477 examples of its 2014 Chevy Silverado, Tahoe and GMC Sierra (though not the Yukon) to fix a problem with a tie rod in its steering rack. As ever, all recall repairs will be performed free of charge, and GM is now estimating that recall-related actions this quarter will result in an estimated $200-million charge against its second-quarter earnings. Corvette Stolen In Detroit Returned To Owner After 33 Years

Wed, Jun 25 2014

A Detroit man had his stolen Corvette returned 33 years after it disappeared while parked on one of Detroit's main drags, according to ABC 7. The last time George Talley saw his 1979 Corvette was on a July day in 1981, when it disappeared from its parking spot on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit. He had given up hope of ever seeing his car again, until a phone call from AAA brought his sporty ride home. Authorities had come across a Corvette with a questionable VIN in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. When they ran the number Talley's stolen car report came up. The car is still in pretty good shape and only has 47,000 miles on the odometer. Talley wasn't sure how he could get the car back home, but General Motors stepped in and agreed to cover the cost of bringing the 'Vette home. Talley has always had a passion for Detroit-made muscle cars. "I've always liked Corvettes. It was attractive. The ladies like 'em," Talley told ABC 7.
