1969 Chevrolet Camaro Resto-mod on 2040-cars
Union Springs, Alabama, United States
It's a beautifully restored 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. The previous owner did a full frame off restoration and its
beautiful. It was solid silver when I bought it and just recently I had the rally stripes painted on the car. So
most everything on the top of the car was painted about 3 months ago and there are very few, if any flaws. I'd rate
the paint probably an 8 out of 10... maybe a little higher
The engine runs great and the 4-speed muncie M22 was just rebuilt and pulls hard. I will list a few highlights
below.
*Chevy 355 with mild 350hp , Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake, mild cam and Edelbrock carb
*Muncie M22 4-speed recently rebuilt with documentation
*TKO shifter
*3.73 gears in a 10 bolt rear end
*SSBC 4 Wheel Disc Brake conversion
*Push button start hidden under dash
*Flowmaster Super 44 with H-pipe (Sounds amazing)
*All rubber bushings replaced with Polyurethane (frame, body, control arms, engine mounts)
*March Pulleys and serpentine belt
*Heater box completely rebuilt
*Flaming River tilt steering column
*Flaming River one piece machined steering wheel ( Steering wheel is removable)
*Covans Carbon Fiber gauge cluster
*Auto Meter Ultra Light gauges
*H4 Headlight conversion
*All new sounds deadening through-out on build
*All new window/door seals/rubber, new glass and new upper and lower door hinges
*Billet Specialties billet black anodized hood hinges, trunk hinges, and fender braces
*Fesler billet black anodized 3D taillights
*Digitails rear LED taillight conversion
*Black A4 race seats with slide and recline adjustment
*Sparco 4 point harness
*All new OE wiring front to back including new factory fuse box
*Hotchks lowering springs and lowering leafs and new KYB shocks
* Billet Specialties Laguna wheels 18x8 front and 19x10 Almost brand new! Less than 500 miles
* Bridgestone Pole position tires 225/25/18 front 275/35/19 rear Less than 500 miles
* Body was media blasted, epoxy primed and then a 2 stage PPG base/clear
*New Optima yellow top battery
*2 Diamond 6x9 rears, two Diamond 6x9 stock front locations
*Eclipse XA5000 5 channel amp
*Alpine single 10" enclosure
The car is in excellent shape and pictures won't do this thing justice i'm sure. It has always been garage kept and
babied. The previous owner rarely drove the car, but i've definitely driven it and enjoyed it and wouldn't be
afraid to take it anywhere.

GM recalls trucks and SUVs for brake pedal problem
Thu, Feb 11 2016The Basics: General Motors will recall over 473,000 North American examples of the 2015-2016 Chevrolet Silverado HD, GMC Sierra HD, and police pursuit versions of the Chevy Tahoe. These include 426,573 vehicles in the US and 46,837 in Canada, according to Reuters. The Problem: The brake pivot nut can loosen over time, which can render the pedal inoperative. This would be a danger to drivers trying to stop the vehicles. In some cases, the "Service Engine Soon" light might come on. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The Fix: Dealers will inspect the pivot bolt, and if necessary they will apply adhesive to it and reinstall the part with increased torque. If You Own One: "We expect to start customer notifications shortly," GM spokesperson Tom Wilkinson told Autoblog. Related Video: Transport Canada Recall # 2016053 Recall Date 2016/02/04 Notification Type Safety Mfr System Brakes Manufacturer Recall Number 20760 Units Affected The number of vehicles or components affected by the recall. 46,837 Category Light Truck & Van, SUV Recall Details On certain Heavy Duty and Police Pursuit vehicles, the brake pedal pivot nut may become loose, causing the brake pedal to be loose or inoperative. If the brake pedal becomes loose or inoperative, it could interfere with the accelerator pedal, and/or the driver may be unable to safely stop the vehicle through application of the brake pedal, potentially affecting stopping distances and increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the pivot bolt installation to determine whether the vehicle has already received the production remedy. If not, the dealer will add adhesive to the nut, and reinstall the nut at an increased torque. Note: This condition may result in the "Service Engine Soon" light illuminating, and brake lights may stay on longer than expected. New Corvette Feature Keeps An Eye On Valets
Wed, Aug 20 2014Face it. If you own a luxury or sports car, whenever you hand the keys to a valet, you imagine the car going on a high-speed joyride like the Ferrari in the 1980s cult movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." Now, General Motors has an option on the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette that takes those worries away. The latest version of the sports car, due out in September, has a feature that records where the car goes with a camera mounted in the windshield trim. It also captures audio in the cabin as well as speed, engine revolutions per minute, gear position and G-force. That all helps the car tattle on any valet who doesn't take a slow, direct route to a parking space. GM says it's the most extensive attempt by an automaker to thwart valet joyriders, although it's not the first. The automotive website Edmunds.com says Hyundai and Mercedes offer "geofencing," a feature that sets a perimeter and then notifies the owner's smart phone if a car goes beyond it. Chrysler has a valet mode that caps engine speed and horsepower, while Audi lets owners limit engine speed for valets. With the Corvette, once the owner activates the feature with a four-digit code, the touch screen tells the driver it's in Valet Mode. But it doesn't warn the valet that he's being recorded. The feature also locks the glove box and a storage compartment in the dashboard and shuts down the infotainment system. Valet Mode started off as a performance data recorder for those who take their Corvettes on the racetrack. GM engineers quickly figured out that it had more uses. "Think of it as a baby monitor for your car," Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles said in a statement. "Anyone who has felt apprehension about handing over their keys will appreciate the peace of mind of knowing exactly what happened while their baby was out of sight." Data and video from the valet mode can be viewed instantly by the owner on the car's 8-inch color screen when the car is parked, or it can be downloaded to a computer. The system could go into more mainstream models if feedback is good on the Corvette, GM spokesman Monte Doran said. The feature is paired with a navigation system and costs $1,795. A 2015 Corvette starts at just under $54,000. Chevrolet Technology Gadgets
Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia
Sun, 03 Feb 2013It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours as to what we're looking at here, so let us know in the comments what you think this could be.
