I am listing my 1969 Chevrolet Camaro for sale after many years of ownership. This is a clean upper-end driver that my family and I have enjoyed for many years. The vehicle has been trouble free with regular maintaince being performed. The car is inspected and registered annually. The car has been driven to numerous car shows in several states over the years with absolutely no issues.

Visit youtube.com and search oldride 1969 for a video of the car on the Poconos Raceway.

EXTERIOR: The car is blue with white Z-28 stripes. The paint is 15 plus years old and is in great shape and shiney with minor imperfections. There is no rust on the vehicle. All panels are straight and the reveals are as they should be. There is no sag in the door hinges. All doors, hoods and lids close as designed. All chrome and emblems are in place with no pitting. All glass is original and in good condition. The floor boards and trunk are solid. The car rides on 15 inch rally wheels with tall caps and new tires.

ENGINE/TRANSMISSION: The 350 cu in motor is bored .30 over and is a strong runner. The car comes with an Edelbrock intake and a Quadra-Jet carb. I had the 350 turbo transmission rebuilt 4 years ago. The car runs, drives and shifts smooth. It has been driven but has not been beat. This car is a real blast to drive!

INTERIOR: This is the standard black interior with bucket seats, center console and horseshoe shifter. There are no rips or tears in the seats. The rear seat was refurbished with the original cushioning being replaced due to age. The original seat covers were put back on.  The carpet is in good condition as the original was replaced about 5 years ago due to wear. The headliner is original and in good condition. There are no cracks in the dash pad. There are no leaks in the front or rear glass. I had the front and rear glass professionally reset 3 years ago and was able to inspect the window channels which were clean and free from any rust issues.

NEW: All new front wiring harness complete, new grill, front and rear glass reset, new factory dual exhaust, transmission rebuilt, interior seat padding (rear), 15" tires.

NEEDS: The rear quarter glass needs rollers. The dome light needs replaced. The plastic instrument carrier has a crack in it. I do however have one in the box (used) that will go with the car. The center console chrome trim/wood grain shift plate could use an upgrade.

OTHER: This car was stored covered during the off-season in a clean, dry building. I have described this vehicle, its positives and imperfections to the best of my ability and as I see them. There is no warranty expressed, it is purchased as-is, where-is and I encourage you to ask questions and if you choose, view the car before purchase. I reserve the right to end this listing early as the car is for sale locally. Mileage is what shows on the odometer. Thanks for viewing my ad and happy bidding

Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why

Sun, 27 Jan 2013

Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?
