I am selling my '69 Hugger Orange Camaro (SS Badging) VIN Number: 123379N567413
I bought the car in October 2011 from a friend of mine who got the car out of Pennsylvania and had it shipped here to Pensacola. I drove it for a few months w/the built 350 it had in it then around mid December the motor and tranny were out and the LS1 swap got underway. I've put around 3,500 miles on her after the swap. The car has PS, PB (front disc, rear drum), LS1 w/ 4L60E, Vintage Air Gen IV, 10 Bolt Rear w/ Eaton POSI and 3.36 Richmond gear (Gear and POSI were installed 10/2012 along with new bearings, seals, cover gasket, and gear oil), and American Racing 17x8 TT2's all the way around. Tires have good tread on them. Were put on right before I bought the car. Battery is newer. This car drives great and gets good gas mileage. I drove it to NC and TN for Run Thru The Hills in September 2012 and the car did great! Cruised the whole way there and back at 75-80mph w/AC on and music playing. 26 mpg. I'm selling because I have enjoyed the car and want to invest in another house.
Motor/Drivetrain: The motor is an LS1 out of a 2002 SS Camaro that had 89,000 miles on it when we removed it and the 4L60E from the car. I took all accessories of the motor and did a thorough cleaning and degreasing (See pics). I then painted the block, water pump, etc. Cast Coat Iron. The pulleys, coil packs, and upper intake are Semi Flat Black. The tranny is Cast Coat Iron as well. It all looks really clean and people comment on it when you open the hood. The oil pan is the Holley LS pan. I used Dirty Dingo sliders for adjustibility. Aluminum radiator and dual electric fans. New water pump. Taylor Wires. Lokar throttle cable and pedals. K&N filter. I added a Z06 cam and springs and Dynatech longtube headers. Off road H-pipe and Flowmaster mufflers complete the exhaust. The car has been tuned and totally remapped. The motor runs great, starts up as it should, idles perfectly, shifts perfectly, and it's a pretty peppy car. I've had some high horsepower cars and this car is as fun to drive as any of them.
Suspension: The car was pretty stock when I bought it. I added Hotckis front coil springs and rear leaf springs (1.5" drop), Hotckis front sway bar, and new front shocks. It sits awesome and handles so much better. These few upgrades totally changed the feel and look of the car.
Interior: I just installed a brand new carpet in the car in January. The seats and console are out of a 2002 SS Camaro and the driver is power. With the console there are two AC power jacks and 4 cup holders. The dash pad is new. I installed a JVC cd player w/ Ipod hookup. I installed Kenwood dash speakers and Pioneer rear deck speakers. Installed a Grant steering wheel, Autometer Phantom gauges, and 3-way seat belts. All original side and rear glass. Some scratches. The interior is very clean and simple. *The lid on console needs to be replaced. I have just dealt w/ it. It opens and closes but the mounting bracket is messed up. It's loose and doesn't latch shut. Junkyard/U-Pull-It might be the place to look.
Paint/Body: This is a great looking DRIVER car! It's not a show car. I just waxed her last weekend. She gets a lot of comments, thumbs ups, smiles everywhere I go. The paint looks killer from 8-10ft away, but if you inspect the car up real close there are some rust spots in the typical places; ie bottom of doors, rear deck cover?? (Between rear glass and trunk), and one on the piece in front of the hood above grill area (See pics of imperfections below). When we were removing the front passenger fender I nicked the edge of door ..... It has been touched up so it's less noticeable. I'm not a Camaro scholar, this is my first old car. I'm trying to be as up front as possible. I'm anal about my cars and these are things some people wouldn't care about. Not me though. I recently noticed after I washed the car that the truck had a little water in it. After talking to a few people this is not uncommon. I haven't had the time to investigate further.. I never drive it if it's raining because I don't have to so it's not to big of an issue for me.
Type of Acceptable Payment: Bank Wire, Cash, or Cashiers Check from Bank that's in my area. I would prefer a Wire transfer.
Deposit: $500 Paypal deposit within 24 hours of sale
Pickup: Call me to schedule pickup after the auction is completed. I would like to close the deal within 10 days of auction close but will work with the buyer as much as possible. The car is in my garage and will stay there until it's picked up.
The car is for sale locally and will be driven occasionally. Ask me any questions and I will give you an honest and forthright answer. I can also take more pictures if needed. Thanks for looking!

2019 Toyota Avalon vs. full-size sedans: How they compare on paper
Mon, Apr 23 2018Full-size sedans aren't exactly in great demand at the moment, and at least one of the vehicles in this comparison has been rumored to be on the endangered species list. Yet, we've just had our first drive in the 2019 Toyota Avalon, and if anything has a chance of rejuvenating the segment a bit, it's an all-new version of what has long been the segment's benchmark. To see how the new Avalon compares, we've put together the below spreadsheet featuring the Avalon's primary apples-to-apples rivals, the Buick LaCrosse and Chevy Impala. We also included the Nissan Maxima, which is comparable in price, sales and non-luxury badge, and which offers the sort of increased driver engagement promised by the new Avalon XSE and Touring trim levels. We also included the outgoing Avalon for reference as well as that car's luxury cousin, the Lexus ES, which can definitely be cross-shopped with the luxuriously trimmed Avalon Limited. You can use our Compare Cars tool to create your own comparison, such as one featuring the rear-wheel-drive Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger or even Kia Stinger. Alright, enough chit chat. On to the spreadsheet. Performance and fuel economy The GM sedans may come standard with four cylinders, including a mild hybrid system in the LaCrosse, but puh-lease. The V6 is the name of the game in this segment, with outputs now surpassing the 300-horsepower mark. The LaCrosse is the horsepower and torque champ, though it also weighs a bit more than the new 2019 Avalon, so acceleration is likely to be comparable. The Impala weighs a lot more and has only a six-speed automatic, so despite having a wee bit more power, one should expect it to be pokier (not a good sign for a car rumored to be on the chopping block). One would expect the Maxima's 300 hp and lowest curb weight to result in the quickest acceleration, but then it's also strapped to a CVT, which despite being better than ever, is still a CVT. Things get worse for Chevy when you consider the Impala's base four-cylinder gets the same 25 mpg combined as the Avalon's V6 — once again a segment best. Now, should you really prioritize fuel economy, the 2019 Toyota Avalon Hybrid really stands out with a 43 mpg rating (or 44 with the base XLE trim) that bests the outgoing Avalon Hybrid. Honestly, after driving this new Hybrid, it actually seems like it would be the best bet for most buyers. There's sufficient power, and it only costs $1,000 more than the comparable V6 version.
What we know, and think we know, about the 2016 Chevy Volt
Wed, Aug 13 2014With the next-gen Chevy Volt due to make an appearance at the Detroit Auto Show early next year, bits and pieces about the new car are making their way into the press. Perhaps most importantly, the new Volt is going to have better "fuel economy and efficiency," according to GM executive vice president Mark Reuss. The current Volt gets 98 MPGe and 37 miles per gallon on premium fuel. It also has a 38-mile electric-only range. We don't know how GM will improve the efficiency or to what degree, but the logical options include making the car lighter, giving it better aerodynamics and/or improving the powertrain. To that end, one of the big things we don't know for sure includes information on the new gas-powered engine. Forbes says it will be a downsized 1.0-liter, three-cylinder mill instead of the 1.4-liter, four-cylinder used in the current model, which could certainly help the car be more efficient. The new Volt is also going to have more technology, which shouldn't surprise anyone. GM is now openly talking about how it will change the way it markets the Volt, shifting away from the mass-market mentality to focus on the regions where the car is already popular. "There's a Northeast and West Coast market for Volt, and there's nothing wrong with that," Chevy chief marketing officer Tim Mahoney told Forbes. There are rumors that the new Volt will have seating for five by adding a seat in the back. This is something a lot of current Volt owners would love, but we've heard nothing official hinting that this would be the case. We expect the battery to be the new 17.1-kWh version, or maybe even have a capacity increase, so GM would have to seriously repackage the pack to eliminate the ridge that runs from between the front seats and then back to the rear two seats. If you've heard anything official, do let us know.
