CHEVY CAMARO

Up for sale is my 1968 Chevy Camaro with a "Clean California Title".  This is a ready to go vehicle. THIS IS NOT A PROJECT CAR. This vehicle comes with a beautiful silver metallic paint.  I would rate the paint job 8 out of 10 and definitely a solid daily driver.   It comes equipped with the original straight 6 engine and automatic transmission that were rebuilt by the previous owner about 2 years ago.  The interior is black and in great overall condition.  I would rate the interior 8 out of 10 as well.  All panels on the vehicle including the trunk are solid.  This vehicle is a California car and has spent all it's life here.  The car was painted about 3 years and is in great condition overall, but again it's not a trailer queen.  I have spent a lot of time and money on this vehicle over the last 4 months.  This is some of the work that has gone into the last few months:

-Full tune up
-Engine Flush
-Added Power Steering ($1800)
-4 Wheel Disc Brakes ($2200)
-Brand new 17" American Racing Anthartice Torq Thrust Wheels (17x7 in the front and 17x8 in the rear) $1100
-Brand new BF Goodrich tires ($800)
-Clarion system (head unit and speakers)
-New front doors and quarter windows weatherstripping ($200)

Too much too list all the other stuff that I have added on the vehicle.  I have plenty of receipts from Classic Industries for this vehicle.  I need to part with my 68 Camaro, because I have 2 other 69 Camaro's that I'm restoring and require my attention.  This vehicle starts right up and needs practically nothing. It has solid undercarriage and very reliable.

The car will need to be picked in Wilmington, California (about 15 miles south of LA), I will not ship anywhere.  No low ballers, no tire kickers or dreamers please.  I am a solid ebayer with an impeccable record of over 930 transactions with 100% feedback. Cash or cashier's check are the only methods of payment for this vehicle.  There will be a $1500 non-refundable deposit due immediately to hold the vehicle and the entire balance will be due 72 hours after the auction ends.

If you have any questions, please call me at (310) 989-1457. Thanks, George

I will be out of town the rest of the week, but you can still contact me in regards to the vehicle.

5 reasons why GM is cutting jobs, closing plants in a healthy economy

Tue, Nov 27 2018

DETROIT — Even though unemployment is low, the economy is growing and U.S. auto sales are near historic highs, General Motors is cutting thousands of jobs in a major restructuring aimed at generating cash to spend on innovation. It's the new reality for automakers that are faced with the present cost of designing gas-powered cars and trucks that appeal to buyers now while at the same time preparing for a future world of electric and autonomous vehicles. GM announced Monday that it will cut as many as 14,000 workers in North America and put five plants up for possible closure as it abandons many of its car models and restructures to focus more on autonomous and electric vehicles. The reductions could amount to as much as 8 percent of GM's global workforce of 180,000 employees. The cuts mark GM's first major downsizing since shedding thousands of jobs in the Great Recession. The company also said it will stop operating two additional factories outside North America by the end of next year. The move to make GM get leaner before the next downturn likely will be followed by Ford Motor Co., which also has struggled to keep one foot in the present and another in an ambiguous future of new mobility. Ford has been slower to react, but says it will lay off an unspecified number of white-collar workers as it exits much of the car market in favor of trucks and SUVs, some of them powered by batteries. Here's a rundown of the reasons behind the cuts: Coding, not combustion CEO Mary Barra said as cars and trucks become more complex, GM will need more computer coders but fewer engineers who work on internal combustion engines. "The vehicle has become much more software-oriented" with millions of lines of code, she said. "We still need many technical resources in the company." Shedding sedans The restructuring also reflects changing North American auto markets as manufacturers continue to shift away from cars toward SUVs and trucks. In October, almost 65 percent of new vehicles sold in the U.S. were trucks or SUVs. That figure was about 50 percent cars just five years ago. GM is shedding cars largely because it doesn't make money on them, Citi analyst Itay Michaeli wrote in a note to investors. "We estimate sedans operate at a significant loss, hence the need for classic restructuring," he wrote. The reduction includes about 8,000 white-collar employees, or 15 percent of GM's North American white-collar workforce. Some will take buyouts while others will be laid off.

Train derailment leaves Jeep, GMC, Chevy pickups damaged in Nevada

Thu, Jul 11 2019

An unfortunate train derailment is causing some inevitable delays for pickup truck customers west of Nevada. Yesterday morning, 33 train cars derailed in Lincoln County, and the cargo that was being transported consisted of new Jeep Gladiators and Wranglers along with Chevrolet Silverados and GMC Sierras, judging from the photos released by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. The train derailment also caused the adjacent road to be closed, and local law enforcement recommends the area is to be avoided as long as it takes to clean it all up. In the photos, damaged Jeeps and other trucks sit either on their wheels or shiny-side-down as the incident is being assessed. Available information says there were thankfully no personal injuries, but itÂ’s not likely any of these trucks will end up in customer hands, even with a significant discount. Pre-registration transport damage, significant or not, has often resulted in scrapping complete vehicles so that manufacturers can steer clear of liability issues. Hooniverse.com, which also reported on the incident, notes a couple of interesting things. Firstly, the upended Gladiator seems to have a pretty sturdy support structure for its glasshouse, thanks to its new rollbars. Another matter is that the GM trucks, also pictured, wear discreet and temporary transport steel wheels instead of fancier items, perhaps to deter thieves eager to grab a shiny set from trucks on their way to the dealer. Still, itÂ’s a shame these vehicles could never fulfill their hauling purposes in the hands of new owners. Perhaps the manufacturers can at least use the damage for data-gathering purposes.
