1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 Big Block with RS package.

Features include hidden headlights, and reverse lights below the bumper, as well as other trim options. This RS/SS
package included the best of available features: a more powerful engine and the desirable trimmings of an RS.

The RS is an appearance package “Rally Sport”, that included hidden headlights and body side bright trim with
front signals down low.

The SS is a performance package, title stands for Super Sport. Performance features include higher hp engine, Turbo
hydro transmission, positive traction 12-bolt rear, and heavy duty suspension.

The exterior is refinished with the factory color, British Racing Green. A rare color, available for a limited time
in 1968 only. A few minor chips are noted on the sides and some crazing can be noted particularly on rear spoiler.
An easy fix and you have perfect paint. The white vinyl top (rare option) keeps the car cool and is in good
condition. RS option hidden headlights are functioning and are framed above by the scallop stripe stretching across
the hood on the front edge. This 1968 only stripe makes its way rearward where it dies at doors edge in a white
spear. Factory rally wheel trim and hubcaps are framed by Goodyear Tires. The SS gas cap is planted firmly in the
center of the rear panel. Also seen are nicely preserved and shiny trimmings around the wheel wells and rockers.

Interior:

Black stitched vinyl bucket seats with black piping highlighting, in great condition in front, and a matching motif
rear bench seat makes up the seating arrangement. All seats are in showroom condition. A center console shows an
automatic stirrup shift grab handle that is designed right out of the 60's. The forward console and center dash
is surrounded by walnut wood trim. This wood works its way upward to where the radio and temp sliders are located.
Deep round angled analog gauges create the gauge cluster in front of the original RS steering wheel. Accessory
gauges monitor temperature and oil pressure. Black carpet in great clean condition and is covered by badged rubber
floor mats in black.

Drivetrain:

A GM orange block, heads and intake manifold are flanked by shiny chrome valve covers and a chrome air cleaner. The
detailed filter rests atop and is showing in 396ci L35 Engine ID. This engine is an original 1968 Camaro “MW”
code designating it’s 325hp preparation. It has a new Holley 4bbl carburetor on top with electric choke for
flawless operation. A 3-speed automatic TH400 is behind this monster mill and it throws power rearward to a 12-bolt
3.08 posi rear axle. Very nice presentation under this hood for this RS-SS.

Undercarriage:

Underside is refinished to original colors and specifications, and no rust is present. Power front disc brakes,
rear power drums, along with a dual exhaust system are seen all in good condition. Looking good, the underneath is
clean, just like the topside. Independent coil springs provide the ride for the front and multi-leafs do the same
for the rear.

Drive-Ability:

A very solid and fun driver, quick starter, smooth shifter, and some good grabby brakes. The car rides smoothly and
accelerating is a snap. The tires do break loose easy under aggressive acceleration. The interior is spacious.
It's ready to go for a spin in in a moments notice and definitely grabs peoples attention!

A beautiful first generation pony car, completely restored, with both RS option and SS package. And some great
factory options too. All surfaces. interior and exterior are good to go, and in good working condition. Noteworthy
is the desirability of a true big block Camaro that retains an original Camaro “MW” engine.

CA Chevy dealer allegedly adds $50K 'market value adjustment' to 2015 Z06

Fri, Jan 9 2015

It seems to happen with every eagerly anticipated new car – dealerships, recognizing that crushing demand far outstrips the initial limited supply of a new model, inflate the price via a so-called "market value adjustment." We've seen it in the past with a number of new models, and now it's happening again with one of the Detroit 3's hottest vehicles. A dealership in Roseville, CA, outside of Sacramento, has allegedly attached a staggering $49,995 market value adjustment to a 2015 Corvette Z06. We say allegedly because, despite the evidence uncovered by BoostAddict, John L. Sullivan Chevy's online inventory listing doesn't display the price premium of the Z06 in question, a (normally) $93,965 model with the top-end 3LZ trim. It's unclear if either of the dealer's other Z06s, both 3LZs, one of which is in transit, will receive similar price adjustments. Now, legally, Sullivan Chevy isn't doing anything wrong here. Dealerships are under no obligation to observe a manufacturer's suggested retail price, a point General Motors' spokesperson Ryndee Carney pointed out to Autoblog via email. "For the Corvette Z06, Chevrolet has established a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price we feel is right for the market. Actual transaction prices, however, are the province of the dealer," Carney said, adding that a dealer zone manager will be discussing the price hike with the dealership. While we also reached out to the dealership over both the market value adjustment and the price of the Z06 as it appears on the company's website, we've yet to hear back as of this writing. Should they reply to our inquiries, we'll be sure to update you. Until then, we'd like to hear what you think about this case. Is Sullivan Chevy simply pricing the cars as high as it thinks the market can bear, or is this a cash grab for an hotly anticipated product? Have your say in Comments.

My year in EVs: 8 electrics that are changing the car industry

Wed, Dec 1 2021

The year 2021 will go down as an inflection point in the auto industry’s transition to electric vehicles. It's when many much-anticipated models became reality. No longer sketches or sketchy prototypes, electric vehicles appeared from all corners with everything from the Lucid Air to Ford Mustang Mach-E changing how we think about transportation. I managed to drive a lot of them, and as I went through my notes, I realized IÂ’ve got a mini memoir of the seminal EVs of 2021. HereÂ’s my take on eight of them. Hummer EV Easily the most over-the-top EV I tested this year. The 1,000-hp super truck lived up to the hype with its domineering presence, stupendous power and simply being a reincarnated Hummer. I took it for a short spin on- and off-road at the General Motors Proving Grounds in Milford, Mich., and was impressed with the airy cabin, removable sky panels and expansive touchscreens. Yes, I crab walked, which felt like steering a pontoon boat, though I can see why it would be useful. Lucid Air Dream Performance The most beautiful sedan I tested all year, EV or otherwise. Unlike the futuristic Mercedes EQS — which is quite attractive — LucidÂ’s car is a blend of mid-century modern interior aesthetics and classic European exterior styling. When I walked up for my test drive, someone who IÂ’m pretty sure was comedian Jon Lovitz was sitting inside and taking it all in. As it sat in the valet of a hotel in a wealthy suburban enclave north of Detroit, the Lucid drew more attention than any of the Mercedes, Cadillacs or Lexus models passing by. The driving experience was enveloping. Starting at $169,000 for the Performance model (reservations are closed), the Lucid I sampled packed 1,111 hp and 471 miles of range. From the precise steering to the comfortable suspension, the dynamics were spot-on. It's a formidable product, and all the more impressive given itÂ’s LucidÂ’s first. Chevy Bolt EV The Bolt was the most pleasant surprise for me. It handled well, offered low-to-the-ground hot hatch dynamics and the steering was dialed-in. Adding a crossover variant for the new generation was a smart play. On a summer morning where I went to a first drive of the Ford Bronco at an off-road course, my hour-long commute in the Bolt was an enjoyable appetizer.  The Bolt was also my biggest disappointment due to its extensive recalls for fire risk. Ironically, I had the Bolt in my driveway when the initial recall went out for the previous generation (2017-19).
