1968 Chevrolet Camaro Rs Ss on 2040-cars
Croghan, New York, United States
This rare 68 RS/SS was owned by a little old lady who wasn't old when she purchased the car new in 1968. She owned
it for 35 yrs. then in 2003 she sold it to her neighbor who'd been begging to buy it for years. He had it painted,
the L48 engine totally rebuilt, and the Muncie transmission rebuilt to factory specifications. I purchased the car
from her neighbor in 2016 in Carlisle P.A. Since 2003 there has only been a little more then 20,000 miles put on
this beautiful machine. This RS/SS is in excellent condition a strong # 2. # 1 being a trailer queen # 5 being a
basket case. The interior is in great condition the high back headrest bucket seats are NOT original they are from
a 69. The only thing it needs is each bucket seat has a 2 inch area that has to be restitched. These are NOT tears
it's right on the seam where the stitching separated in the exact same spot on each seat. I was quoted a price of
$206 only $103 a seat but she can't take it until after the new year. The hideaway headlight switch needs to be
replaced too but also can't be repaired until after the new year. I only bring my cars to one shop, the good news
is he does a great job, the bad news is sometimes you have to wait. I recently had a new heater core replaced, oil
change and 4 new quality tires added. In my 55 yrs I've owned at least 45 muscle cars mostly big blocks. There's
only two small blocks I've owned that can not only hang with the big blocks but beat some one is this RS/SS, the
other an 70 AAR Cuda I owned a couple of years ago. The paint still shines great 8.5 - 9 out of 10 there's only a
couple of little nicks & one spot by the antenna that could use a little attention. The convertible top is in
excellent condition along with the tonneau cover. This is one very rare & special vehicle. Power steering seems to
be the only option. Of course it has dual exhaust, 12 bolt rear, I'm not sure of gear ratio.

Europeans ask Chevy to bring Volt back to Europe
Fri, Aug 14 2015A group of French fans is asking for a jolt of support from General Motors to get the 2016 Chevrolet Volt across the pond. The Association Amperistes et Amis des Vehicules Rechargeables is running a Change.org petition that currently has 383 signatures out of a goal of 500. While the attempt is admirable, it's probably going to take a lot more than several hundred people for the model to make a return to the continent after the poor showing of the Opel Ampera – first-gen Volt's European cousin. The group's major argument for bringing a version of the second-gen Volt to Europe is that consumers need "an intermediate choice between expensive or range-limited pure electric cars and plug-in hybrids with a miserable electric range." Furthermore, such a vehicle would prod the competition to produce similarly efficient electrified models. They also lavish praise on the abilities of the Ampera for its long EV driving range. The supporters aren't entirely kind to GM in the petition, though, and claim the company excluded the original car from marketing efforts there. The Ampera actually enjoyed a strong European launch with more orders than initially expected and briefly topped the best-sellers list among EVs there. It was even named 2012 European Car of the Year. Those halcyon days didn't last long, and by 2014 sales fell off to a trickle. The waning reception caused GM's decision not to introduce a version of the new 2016 Volt there or in Australia. Related Video:
Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th
Tue, 15 Apr 2014It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.
Refreshed 2014 Camaro confirmed for New York debut
Thu, 07 Mar 2013We've already seen leaked specs and potential spy shots, but the refreshed 2014 Chevrolet Camaro will make its official debut at the New York Auto Show in a few weeks.
Besides a tweaked exterior and the possibility of a high-output LS7 under the hood, we really don't know much else about the 2014 Camaro, but here's hoping for an improved interior, too.
In addition to the refreshed Camaro, Chevrolet will also be showing off the recently introduced Chevrolet SS, making its debut on the auto show circuit, and we'll also get our first look at the C7 Corvette coupe and convertible side-by-side.
