Rare factory Sequoia Green color/black vinyl top/black interior car. This car is a project and is mostly complete with a lot of new parts. No motor or transmission."

I have my Very Rare optioned 1968 Factory Sequoia Green/Black Vinyl Top/Black Interior Camaro Project for sale! This car is a  Factory V8/Manual transmission car. Only 2.5% of the 235,147 1968 Camaros that were made were this very rare and desirable color.  It is a project car and there is no motor or transmission. Car is currently stripped to bare metal as it was just dustless not too long ago. The car has the typical rust areas these cars typically have (floors, 1/4 panels, passenger side outer rocker panel and small areas of the front and rear window channels). However the entire trunk area is very solid! including the trunk pan/trunk drop off panels! The car will come with a lot of new parts/new sheetmetal. The factory doors are in very good condition with only minor rust repair patching that will need to be done. All of the factory trim, emblems, grille assemb., seats, console, steering column, heat/vent stuff, ALL the glass, taillights, factory suspension, and boxes full of parts are all included. Car omes with factory flat hood in primer and also the steel cowl induction hood. Factory trunk lid also included and is in excellent condition. Factory Subframe has been sandblasted and painted with black frame paint. Car has the mono-leaf spring 10bolt rearend. Car is a PROJECT and will need some work. Almost all the parts are there except the Motor and Transmission!  For more info/questions/details please contact me as it would be easier to discuss or go over the car over the phone. This would be an excellent starting point for someone for a full restoration. All the panels on the car appear to be the original ones. The car was not a cut up,hacked up drag car or anything like that. The car is a very solid starting point for a full restoration. From what I can tell it will need floor pans, minor window channel patching/replacing, upper dash panel (patch or replace might be easier), passenger side outer rocker panel (might just need a patch), both quarter panels, and rear deck filler panel replaced. These are almost all the typical areas that need replaced on these cars. Car comes with a set of 15" factory ralley wheels/ This is my dream car and I would love to keep at it and finish it, however I do not have the time or funds right now to do so. If it does not sell I will keep it and build it, it will just take a lot longer time frame than I had hoped for. I strongly suggest anyone interested in this project car give me a call or contact me as there is a lot of details and a lot of things I'm sure I am forgetting to mention on here. TONS of parts come with the car, I am sure I am missing a couple things here and there so be sure to ask if you have any questions. Floor pan was not dustless blasted, as I planned on replacing it anyways.

New parts:
2" steel cowl induction hood
Both front fenders
Both front inner fenders

Both rear 1/4 panel skins
Both rear outer wheelhousings (do not need to be replaced as the ones on the car are very SOLID!)
Passenger and Drivers side floor pans
Radiator Support
Weatherstripping Kit
Front end bolt/fastener Kit
Front end bushings/balljoints
subframe/body mount kit
Weatherstripping kit
Gas tank
Mirrors

To discuss anything about the car or what all is there I strongly suggest you call me at 785-737-6209 or email me at jwill_20@hotmail.com and I can answer any questions or concerns you may have. There are a ton of parts here and a great starting point for a full restoration.

Silverado HD, Touareg V10 TDI face off in diesel tug-of-war

Sun, 30 Dec 2012

A couple weeks ago, we watched a Chevrolet Silverado get dominated by a Dodge Ram Heavy Duty in a fullsize pickup tug-of-war, but in that truck's defense, Chevy's Vortec gas engine was no match for the torquey Cummins turbo diesel. For our next round of vehicular tug-of-war, a Duramax-powered Silverado HD takes on Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI.
Now, on paper, putting the Duramax V8's 365 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque up against the V10's 310 hp and 553 lb-ft looks like an easy win for the Bowtie, but unfortunately, this battle has a similar result as the Dodge versus Chevy video, with the Silverado smoking its tires trying to move forward as it gets pulled backwards. Put another way: YouTube 2, Chevy Silverado 0.
It just goes to show, though, that big tires, bolt-on fender flares and goofy smoke stacks don't improve your towing abilities. Besides, what did the Silverado driver expect when the Touareg V10 TDI has towed a Boeing 747 in the past?
