This 1968 Camaro Sport Coupe started life the 3rd week of April 1968 as a Sport Coupe with black bucket seats, standard shift, with the  Rare Option (ONE YEAR ONLY) Factory Special Color 00 Corvette Bronze, Option C08 black vinyl roof, Option Z21 style trim. Through the years, Corvette Bronze lost its original motor, went through a color change (Tuxedo Black), and after 26 years, in 1994 Corvette Bronze started its restoration. I purchased Corvette Bronze in 2002  a  11 years ago, for $15,000 wow.  Today that would be $30,000. The restoration was a work in progress. Corvette Bronze had all new professionally installed steel GM front clip, all new professionally installed steel rear half quarter panels, the wheel wells were never cut-up to keep Corvette Bronze stock and  original.

Has all Original Floors and Trunk, NO RUST, has Original all steel trunk lid that opens with original key as it should. Has all Original Wiring, was not hacked up, has original dash, plate cover hides radio, heat air controls, ash tray. I have original heat air controls. Standard transmission was replaced with a Turbo 400. But still has original clutch pedal still in car. Had a 12 Bolt Rear with 4:88’s.

The original 327 was replaced with a 355 small block. Has NEW SS grill, NEW chrome bumpers, NEW carpet, NEW door panels, front and rear, NEW arm rest pads. As a car collector, I know you buy CONDITION, CONDITION, CONDITION. That’s why I spent $15,000, a 11 years ago. I did not want a rust bucket to start my next project. I wanted to replace the small block  with a BIG BLOCK. Small block  are always second to Big Blocks. Ask any ’67 Corvette owner. I did not want a restored, original, antiqued, SLOW, BAD brakes, Trailer Queen.

I took the Camaro to “BILLS  CUSTOM AUTO” in Hollywood, Fla. (954) 826- 4451 to UPDATE the Camaro to drive on the street, go to Happy Days, drive to and enter in  car shows. I had pro touring in mind but the Camaro was too original and in excellent condition. The small block was the first to go. Big Block, L-78 396-375, L-89 396-375, aluminum heads, Baldwin Motion 427-425. BEEN THERE DONE THAT. I told Bills Custom Auto I wanted a REAL Big Block. Keep the Camaro stock looking and eat for breakfast the ZL1 Corvette, Porsche, Viper, Ferrari, Shelby’s and the list goes on. To do that a 496 cu. In. Nitrous 225 HP Big Shot, Aluminum Heads, a Crane 713 Roller Lift Cam, Crane Roller Rockers, MSD Distributor, MSD wires, MSD ignition box, High Flow Aluminum  Radiator, Electric fan, Electric water pump, a 1050 Holley Dominator Carburetor, NEW fuel cell, NEW dual fuel filters, NEW dual fuel pumps, all NEW stainless steel braided fuel lines, NEW fuel gauges, and THE LIST OF NEW GOES ON. No expense was spared. The BEST OF THE BEST. The 488’s were replaced with NEW 4:10 gears to make the Camaro more streetable, NEW Aluminum housing cover,NEW large front & rear wheel studs. NEW springs, frame connectors. I knew with a blistering 496 Nitrous motor I needed to stop.

New all 4 wheels, Air Hart Aluminum  Disc brakes, Drilled Rotors, High Performance Master Cylinder.

New M/T front tires

New M/T street drag radicals

Original front suspension overhauled

TRANSMISSION, 4 speeds are nice but at my age, non-smoker, adult owned, I don’t want to miss gears. The Turbo 400 is FRESH, NEW TCI Converter, B+M deep pan, Trans brake.

The interior in the Camaro is ORIGINAL & Stock except for NEW Racing Bucket Seats. NHRA approved roll cage, B+M Shifter, steering wheel, original dash is all there, windows work as they should, original backseat, head liner, interior lite, ALL STOCK & ORIGINAL. the original interior only needs to be totally original is bucket seats, console and shifter, thats it!

The Camaro has FACTORY wiring with NEW Quick Dis-Connects in engine compartment (see pictures)

When I purchased the Camaro the body was in excellent condition.  Panel gaps are excellent; I still want to buy a Ferrari when the prices come down. So the Camaro is painted a beautiful, show quality FERRARI RED, PAINTED NOT DECALS SINISTER looking Rally Stripes, a lift off glass hood, the paint has a MIRROR FINISH. More wax than miles. So you’ll be proud to show it.

The restoration has moved beyond factory stock and into the realm of a high end retro mod. The clean look of this early Camaro is popular for a very good reason. It simply looks AWESOME.  For performance  its hard to beat, this 496 cu.in. BIG BLOCK in a light weight F- Body. This BIG BLOCK Ferrari Red Camaro was built for speed, and like the rest of the car, takes no prisoners! BRUTALLY FAST CARS LIKE THESE ATTRACT ALL THE ATTENTION AT FRIDAY NIGHT CRUISE NIGHTS AND DOMINATE THE DRAG STRIP ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON. The Camaro starts and idles like a 2014 ZL1 Camaro. And best of all, it remains in ready-to-race condition. If you are a race fan, a Camaro enthusiast, OR BOTH, this is a once in a lifetime car. There is only one of these and you can bet the winning bidder will probably not be interested in selling for a LONG, LONG TIME. BID NOW!!! NO DISAPPOINTMENTS!! TURN KEY – NEEDS NOTHING!! DRIVE ANYWHERE!! EVERYTHING IS FRESH, DRIVEN LESS THAN 50 MILES.

i am a private seller, ebay only allows me 24 pictures. i have more pictures, under carriage, motor, interior, exterior, trunk.

send me your email address, i will send more pictures to you. you can eat off the engine, the bottom of the camaro is just ask CLEAN as the top

this camaro has been a labor of love. I have spent THOUSANDS of DOLLARS on this , On- The- Frame Restoration.  MY LOSS YOUR GAIN. Illness forces sale. LOW RESERVE. FLY IN AND DRIVE HOME, NO DISAPPOINTMENTS

Chevy working on production Impala Midnight Edition

Sat, Dec 13 2014

To put together the Impala Blackout concept for SEMA, Chevrolet didn't need to go much further than its accessories catalog. The in-house connection is what could make it possible for Chevy to get a production version of the Blackout into dealers this model year, with its few bits of chrome trim and dark detailing on the 19-inch aluminum wheels set into an abyss of gloss black paint, black Bowtie, grille surround, rear spoiler and mirror caps. The interior is black leather, with stainless steel for the sill plates and pedals, and an 11-speaker Bose audio system, and it gets the optional 305-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6. The brand's marketing director for cars and crossovers, Steve Majoros, told Edmunds that it could come in late spring, and that it will be called "Midnight Edition." Majoros didn't give any indication of pricing or if the production car will be spec'd out like the concept. If you simply don't want to wait for late spring, you could work your DIY mojo by putting one together the same way Chevrolet did: give the accessories catalog a workout. Related Video:

GM shows off 'digital vehicle platform' enabling more in-car tech and OTA updates

Wed, May 22 2019

It appears to have dropped the sobriquet "Global B," but General Motors' new electrical architecture has bowed in drawings and video. This is the "digital vehicle platform" GM president Mark Reuss spoke to Reuters about in 2015, saying it would move a great deal of a vehicle's computer work to the cloud and enable over-the-air updates. Reuss took the microphone for the debut, too, saying, "Our new digital vehicle platform and its eventual successors will underpin all our future innovations across a wide range of technological advancements, including EVs and expanded automated driving." The system will go into production later this year, appearing in dealerships first either on the 2020 Cadillac CT5 or the mid-engined 2020 Chevrolet Corvette. Yes, these are the same electronics cited for delaying the launch of the C8 Corvette over excessive draw, security and getting the more-than-100 computer modules to communicate seamlessly. When Car and Driver asked about that, GM replied with "No comment." Volkswagen's having the same issues with the Mk8 Golf right now, though, so GM isn't alone, and this will be the new normal among OEMs for a while. What's certifiable is that the new architecture is robust enough to handle 4.5 terabytes of data per hour, which is five times what GM's current wiring can handle. And thanks to Ethernet connections of 100 Mbps, 1 Gbs and 10 Gbs, communication within and without the vehicle happens much faster. The advances mean better screen resolutions, better battery management for hybrids and electric vehicles, the capability for over-the-air updates and "functionality upgrades throughout the lifespan of the vehicle." Cadillac's Super Cruise has already been lined up as a leading candidate for constant improvements in the driving assistance suite, a key part of GM's "vision for a world with zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion." And whenever GM decides to take the plunge, it will mean a 48-volt electrical system. More than 300 specialists worked on the digital platform, and security was a huge part of the task. We've already heard that GM consulted with Boeing and military contractors on how to prevent hacking. The carmaker has an internal Product Cybersecurity group that reached out to the research community, and created a "bug bounty" program to crowdsource uncovering any flaws.
