This auction is for a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Coupe.  It was purchased in 1967 by our grandmother who passed it on to her son (our dad) and is now being sold to the public for the first time in it's life.

This car has spent most of its life indoors and was always adult driven and well maintained.  It was never smoked in or abused in any way.  In 1994 the car was stripped to bare metal and repainted in its original yellow.  In 1997 we added a $1,600 sound system.  In 1998 the engine was rebuilt and in the last few years a complete restoration to the interior was completed.  As you can see from the pictures this is a very special car.

The List:

Yellow exterior with black front cowl stripes.
Super Sport hood with emblems.
Black vinyl top.
Black deluxe interior with white trim.
Center console with gauge pack.
Wood and metal spoke steering wheel.
350ci V8 (rebuilt/not original).
4 speed Muncie transmission (rebuilt).
Rear end rebuilt.
Shirt shifter with black shift knob.
Power steering.
Power brakes.
Updated (cd) Panasonic sound system.
American Racing Salt Flat aluminum alloy wheels (time period correct).
Michelin 205/65R15 tires with most of their tread left.

The original wheels are also included with the car (pictured).

We have most of the records including the original owner's manual and the 1967 Camaro brochure (pictured).

The only minor issue I could find:

There is rust on the base floor of the truck (pictured).  We weren't that concerned when we had the car repainted but at some point the new owner will probably want to have it fixed.

The Purchase:

I require a $500 deposit via Paypal at the end of auction to hold the car for 2 weeks.  During the 2 weeks I recommend that the buyer make arrangements to see the car or have it seen by someone.  If the car is not everything we advertise it to be or the buyer changes his or her mind for any reason I will refund the $500 and re-list the car.  We are not in a hurry to sell and I want the buyer to be 100% satisfied with this car before it goes to its new home.

Final payment can be check or cashier's check or wire transfer and the car can drive away only after our bank gives the green light.  I would prefer not to do this large of a transaction with cash but if the buyer would like to then I will suggest that the transaction happens at our bank.

Please feel free to call us (me / Gregg 805-252-3240 or dad / Chris 805-443-0969) with any questions.

Thanks!

These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky

Fri, 24 Aug 2012

It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
Check out our gallery of discontinued cars above, then scroll down for more information.

Man surprises girlfriend with C7 Corvette

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

How would you react if someone just showed up at your place of work with a new, 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, complete with all the trimmings? While a lot of us would likely be flipping out over the still rare sports car, it's a fair bet many more of us would be responding like Pattie here, whose boyfriend stopped by her work to show her her new C7.
Speechless and shocked as she seems, she does end up taking it out for a drive, despite claiming she wasn't really outfitted to handle the car's seven-speed manual transmission at the time. From the sound of the video, we got the impression that she knew the car was coming, just not that it was anywhere near ready for delivery. It also, as Pattie says, seems like her boyfriend is more excited about the car than she (which, can we blame him?). Take a look down below for the full video of this C7 Stingray delivery.

GM Design shows what could have been and what might be

Thu, May 27 2021

We periodically like to check in with GM Design's Instagram account to see what they're cooking up. Even better is when we catch a glimpse of an alternate history of what legendary designers from The General's past were thinking, though those ideas may not have made it into production. This week, for example, the account posted some illustrations from George Camp, whose career at GM spanned nearly four decades, from 1963 to 2001. One of the renderings is of what appears to be a 1971-72 Pontiac GTO Judge, but with two headlights instead of the production unit's quad beams. The rear departs from the canonical version most dramatically, with a massive integrated wing. Other bits that didn't make the production cut include large side vents, a gill-like side marker and rectangular intakes below the headlights that wouldn't be out of place on a modern design today. Amazingly, from what we can make out of the date, it appears that the drawing was done sometime in 1965, which makes it quite prescient.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) There's also a very aerodynamic interpretation of a Corvette ZR-1. To our eyes it splits the difference between the 1986 Corvette Indy concept and a fourth-generation F-body Pontiac Firebird, so perhaps parts of Camp's work on this sketch did make it into physical form. There's also a radical sports car concept from May 1970 that resembles the Mazda RX-500 concept from the same year, a Syd Mead-looking Cadillac coupe, and an Oldsmobile with a cool take on the company's trademark waterfall grille and elements of the Colonnade Cutlass at the rear. Other recent posts include a FJ Cruiser-like off-road EV, a sleek coupe with the Chevy corporate grille, and a rendering of a Silverado-esque pickup that looks far better than the current production version.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) It's pretty easy to lose hours in the account, but it's always fascinating to see GM's visions of what could have been and what might be.
