New Deluxe interior w/ center console w/ 67 console gauges. Factory Tachometer, all gauges work. RALLY SPORT HIDEAWAYS OPEN/CLOSE AUTOMATICALLY w/ new all new headlight motor components. Big Block 396 motor runs excellent, mild cam and flowmaster exhaust w/ equalizer tube gives a nice throaty sound. Approx. 375 HP, this camaro is easy to drive for the power. Runs excellent, suspension goes down the road perfect. All new sub frame bushings Muncie 4 Speed shifts smooth, the correct hurst shifter fits in the center console perfect w/ shift plate. This is a Van Nuys built camaro that has spent its entire life here in CA, it comes with previous owners paperwork that verify its residency here in CA throughout its life. Paperwork also shows this camaro still has its original black and gold CA license plates. It has been off the road and stored inside nearly half its life, and is amazingly rust free due to inside storage and our dry CA climate. This car still retains its ORIGINAL GM quarter panels and floor pans. Even the fenders are original! The original GM floors and quarters on this car are all in amazing condition! Very clean original undercarriage, nicely detailed and not caked down with undercoating. All 4 original cocktail shakers are still in place. Yes, they are actually the original shakers that appear to have never been removed from the car. Windows are also all original to the car and in amazing shape, all windows line up as they should to the convertible top, no gaps like many convertibles. It has a New Top, excellent quality work. New Tires and Rally Rims. THIS IS NOT THE MATCHING NUMBER 396 Engine! This was a factory V8 base convertible, the RS/SS options were added to the car during restoration (this is not an original big block SS 396 vert, or the price of one!!! please do your research) This camaro has nearly all of the best factory options available in 67 added to the car and now is about as fully loaded as you could have ordered. Very few camaros could come close to comparing to not just the options this car has, but the pristine original metal body simply puts this convertible on another level than most that will ever come up for sale. This car is a great example of a California car should be. A very small number of these camaros have lived as easy of a life as this convertible. Searched MANY years throughout CA looking at rust free cars that were rusted, patched together, twisted, sometimes all in one! This very special car is one of the very few that looks best under extremely close inspection. The more knowledge you have about first generation camaro convertibles and their common issues, the better this car will look.

GM to idle car production at five factories as Americans continue CUV love affair

Mon, Dec 19 2016

In case you needed another reminder that Americans have fallen out of love with sedans, General Motors today announced plans to idle five factories in January in a bid to cut its inventory to 70 days. Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly ( Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Chevrolet Volt and Impala) and Fairfax Assembly in Kansas ( Chevy Malibu) will stop production for three weeks. Lansing Grand River ( Cadillac ATS and CTS, and Chevy Camaro) is going down for two weeks, while Lordstown, OH ( Chevy Cruze) and Bowling Green, KY ( Chevy Corvette) will go idle for a week each, Automotive News reports. GM's shutdown reflects a broader problem with the company's supply – at 847,000 vehicles, the company's supply increased unsteadily from a low of 629,000 units in January of 2016. That's more than a 25 percent increase in the past year. Citing information from Autodata, The Detroit News reports that at the end of November, GM had a 168-day supply of LaCrosses, 177 days' worth of Camaro, 170 days of Corvette, 121 days for Cruze, 119 days for ATS, 132 days for CTS, and 110 days of CT6. Meanwhile, inventory of the company's more popular vehicles is actually below the professionally accepted 60- to 70-day supply, The News reports. The Trax, Colorado pickup, and GM's full-size SUVs are sitting below 50 days and experiencing year-over-year sales increases. GM needs a rethink of its inventory levels, which is something that's apparently coming. "We're going to be responsible in managing our inventory levels," GM spokesman Jim Cain told The News. Another unnamed spokesman told Automotive News the company's day-to-day supplies would "fluctuate before moderating at year-end." But at least one analyst thinks this won't be the last time Detroit needs to stop production to level things out. "Incentives are elevated, residuals are declining, and rates are rising," Brian Johnson, an analyst with Barclays, told The News. "And while GM in particular may benefit in the months ahead from new product launches, it's important to recognize that GM's inventory is elevated at the moment, and it wouldn't surprise us if they need to announce another production cut – which could pressure the stock." GM drops diesel engines for 2020 Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain crossovers

Fri, Jul 12 2019

GM is officially discontinuing the diesel engine in the Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain for the 2020 model year. The 1.6-liter turbodiesel was always an oddball of an engine in the compact crossover segment, and now the experiment has come to an end. The Car Connection initially reported the news, and a GMC spokesperson, Stuart Fowle, confirmed it to us this morning.  “A huge majority of our Terrain customers have opted for one of our two gas engines," says Fowle. We canÂ’t say this eventuality comes as a massive surprise, as we saw news from couple of months ago that GM was dropping all-wheel drive from the diesel-powered cars for 2020. Low demand was cited as the reason for that cull, and itÂ’s the same for the little GM crossovers this time around, too. These vehicles were the only ones powered with a diesel engine in their class, but thatÂ’s going to be changing. Just as GM is going away from the diesel, Mazda is finally bringing its diesel to market in the CX-5. YouÂ’ll only be able to get that engine in the most expensive ($42,045) trim level, combined with all-wheel drive, though. The cheapest Equinox diesel starts at a comparably low $30,795. ThatÂ’s a $2,400 upcharge over the base 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder, and the value is questionable. Mileage is better, but diesel fuel is more expensive. Towing capability didnÂ’t increase over the base engineÂ’s 1,500-pound capacity, but the extra torque around town was nice. As diesels go in the U.S., this one was rather rough and noisy, possibly contributing to some turning their noses up after a test drive. Perhaps another reason for its demise was that the much quicker 2.0-liter turbo Equinox was only $100 more than the diesel. This engine offered significantly better towing at 3,500 pounds, too. You can read all about what we thought of the diesel in our first drive review here, but the 2019 model year is the last one if you had it on your shortlist. 2013 Chevy COPO Camaro announced with two new engines and manual option

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Chevrolet is following up the 2012 COPO Camaro with another limited run of the drag-strip-ready production car for 2013. Ditching the superchargers, the 2013 COPO Camaro can only be equipped with one of three naturally aspirated V8 engines, and other new features include the option of a manual transmission, new front springs, some minor styling changes and a lower starting price of $86,000. All cars are designed to abide by the rules of the NHRA's Stock Eliminator or Super Stock classifications, depending on in which series buyers wish to enter their Chevrolet Camaro.
Returning for 2013 is the 427-cubic-inch V8 producing 425 horsepower, but the new engines include a 325-hp 350-CID V8 and a 375-hp 396-CID V8. Buyers can select to purchase all three engines, and each will be matched with the sequence number of that car; the track-only COPO cars will not have vehicle identification numbers and can't be registered for street use.
Chevrolet is also offering unique enthusiast-specific options such as a COPO Build Book and the opportunity for owners to help assemble their car's engine at the Chevrolet Performance Build Center in Wixom, MI.
