HERE IS A GREAT LOOKING AND VIRTUALLY RUST-FREE 1967 CHEVROLET CAMARO RALLY SPORT CONVERTIBLE TRIBUTE WITH LOTS OF FACTORY OPTIONS THAT HAS HAD A LOT OF WORK DONE AND IS WAITING FOR A NEW OWNER!
Please e-mail me with questions or to set up an inspection to see the car in person. AUCTION MAY BE STOPPED AT ANY TIME.
Vehicle came out of Maryland. Previous owner has had it since 1994. I purchased it out in Carlisle a couple of years ago and drove it all the way home, 200+ miles. Since then I've had the car repainted the original granada gold with added black z-28 stripes. I also added a steel cowl hood and a rear spoiler, as well as replaced a lot of the chrome (bumpers, wheel well moldings, mirrors, etc.). I detailed the engine bay and tuned it a bit and installed the correct deluxe interior seats, and added correct rally wheels with good rubber.
Body is VERY STRAIGHT with excellent original gaps. Doors open and close nicely.
OPTIONS:
Power steering
Power drum brakes
Power convertible top
Deluxe interior
15" Rally wheels with radial tires
Rally sport appearance package
Dual exhaust
10 bolt rear end
Automatic transmission w/console
350ci 4bbl. V8 motor
Cowl induction hood
Rear spoiler
Z-28 stripes
Under the hood lies a mostly stock 350ci V8 motor with 4bbl intake and carburetor upgrade. Mechanically it fires right up and sounds great along with the nice and throaty dual exhaust system. Good steering without too much play in the wheel. Brakes feel good and tight. Overall mechanically sound except for a couple of things here and there.
Interior is in overall GOOD/VERY GOOD original condition. Seats are original other than the added headrests (rear covers are NEW and just installed). Door panels have some wear. Dash in good shape. Carpet is good. Convertible top is excellent (replaced approx. 4 years ago). Overall nicely presentable for an everyday driver.
Underside has a SOLID and dry frame. Floorboards are in good shape throughout with NO evidence of any major rot or any large noticeable holes that I was able to see (I am sure if you look closely there may be a few pinholes but I didn't see any large eye sores). Excellent structurally.
The old girl is NOT perfect by any means of course so please keep that in mind when bidding. Paint is in GOOD to VERY GOOD shape throughout, but it is NOT a $20k paintjob, so it will have minor imperfections here and there upon close examination. Transmission has been refusing to shift in high gear lately for some reason and I haven't had the time to check it out yet (works in all gears of course but doesn't shift up on the highway). Power steering pump has a whine to it and may need some attention soon, although it does not seem to leak. Some leaks here and there (oil leak from pan gasket I believe, should be easy fix). Not working: rally sport headlights (was going to convert to cheaper electric system but never got to it), backup lights (not connected), signals, horn, perhaps a couple of bulbs may need replacing here and there. Missing: spare/jack, rear license plate bracket, rally sport motors/actuators and relays. Ignition switch on dash needs to be secured as I had to replace it a couple of months ago.
So overall she is not perfect and will need some form of TLC depending on how nice you want it to be and what you plan to do with the car. Please note, I cannot remember every single issue with the car, nor do I know everything wrong with it, as it is after all over 40 years old so keep that in mind.
If you just want a GREAT LOOKING AND VIRTUALLY RUST-FREE DRIVER then this is the car for you. If you want a show car, it will need some work to bring it up to that level of course. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE BIDDING OR SERIOUSLY INTERESTED TO COME LOOK AT IT IN PERSON. I WILL BE GLAD TO SHOW IT TO YOU TOP TO BOTTOM SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO.

Next Chevy Volt will be 2016 model and ride on new chassis
Fri, Mar 7 2014What do we know about the 2016 Chevy Volt? Well, for now, all we can do is try to put the puzzle together without the box. Thankfully, a new batch of pieces has arrived from a new report in Edmunds, which says that the 2016 model year will introduce the second generation of a car that hasn't been dramatically updated since it went on sale in 2010. The new Volt is getting an "evolutionary styling change" and will ride on a new front-drive platform that has been developed by General Motors. GM's Kevin Kelly told AutoblogGreen that he has "no comment on future products," but he did acknowledge that Chevrolet is working on a second-generation Volt, "but I can't say anything about timing." Everybody already knew that a next-gen Volt is coming, so that's not a surprise. What we don't know is any real concrete information on the car itself. The few tidbits of information we do have help define the outlines of the next version of Chevy's halo car, but they're not confirmed yet. For the record, they range from the eye-raising (a $10,000 price drop) to the logical (20 percent more electric range). We can't see the whole picture yet, but the pieces do point to the 2016 Volt, which would be released next year sometime, being a much bigger deal than the last update, when the Volt's range was increased by three electric miles thanks to a battery capacity increase of 16 kWh to 16.5.
800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable
Tue, 01 Oct 2013What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]
Mon, 18 Aug 2014For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.
