2003 - Chevrolet C3500 - 1- Ton Work Van. Truck has High Mileage, but still runs strong. We no longer have service trucks on the road, so there is no need to hang on to the van. You will see the company viynl decals on the truck which easiely come off. The body is still is very, very solid condition with little rust. Some the plastic on the body has been cracked, but it certainly does not effect the performance. Bemmco Doors and Hardware bought the van as new and have run it ever since as a delivery and service vechile. We were in the far West Chicago suburbs at the time so many of the miles are highway miles. The interior is all for work, no carpets and the seats are good with only a tear in the drivers seat. They are "Captain's Seats with flip down arm rests so it is a comfortable drive.

The Van is long with the ability to slide 11'0" plus long items inside the truck. Inside you will find on both sides either steel storage lockers or steel tool boxes (In the Photos) The Driver side locker runs almost the entire length of the back of the van - LOTS of storage ! It also has steel cargo seperator walls in the back of both seats. The side doors are swinging doors, not sliding. The inactive door has the inside handle broken off, but it can be opened at the top for full access. The back doors are in good operating order and has a "Puck Lock" Hasp on the back doors. The back windows are blacked out so you can't see inside. Included is a Heavy Duty Ladder Rack that runs the entire length of the truck. It is galvanized steel & bolted to the drip sills. The truck also has a heavy duty trailer reciver hitch with electrical hook up. The tires are in EXCELLENT condition and that is important. Having to replace the tires is very expensive on a truck like this.

The motor is the big Chevrolet Vortex 6.0 Litre V-8 with an Automatic Transmission which work & runs terrific. It is hard on gas, but it will handle any load in it or on it or behind it. The truck was meticuliously cared for by the crew that ran it on the road. Both Mechanics by trade they always made sure that routine maintenace was done. The brakes were done by Car- X  less than 4- months ago. State of Illinois free & clear title. If you would like to see the truck, contact me & I will direct you to where it is stored.

Shipping & Payment: There is NO Shipping. THIS AUCTION IS A PICK UP ONLY!  The truck is located in a Western Suburb of Chicago. We are beteewn 2- Major highways and other toll ways. When picked up we will accept cash or payment thru paypal (in advance of pick up of course). Auction should end near 2PM on Sunday 11/9/13. (Buy it on a Sunday & work it on a Monday !)  We ask that you Contact us with a plan to pick it up... should be no more than 2- days. If you are an E-bay rookie - Less than 10 Feedbacks, please do not bid as I will block your bid.

Impala SS vs. Marauder: Recalling Detroit’s muscle sedans

Thu, Apr 30 2020

Impala SS vs. Marauder — it was comparo that only really happened in theory. ChevyÂ’s muscle sedan ran from 1994-96, while MercuryÂ’s answer arrived in 2003 and only lasted until 2004. TheyÂ’re linked inextricably, as there were few options for powerful American sedans during that milquetoast period for enthusiasts. The debate was reignited recently among Autoblog editors when a pristine 1996 Chevy Impala SS with just 2,173 miles on the odometer hit the market on Bring a Trailer. Most of the staff favored the Impala for its sinister looks and said that it lived up to its billing as a legit muscle car. Nearly two-thirds of you agree. We ran an unscientific Twitter poll that generated 851 votes, 63.9 percent of which backed the Impala. Muscle sedans, take your pick: — Greg Migliore (@GregMigliore) April 14, 2020 Then and now enthusiasts felt the Impala was a more complete execution with guts. The Marauder, despite coming along later, felt more hacked together, according to prevailing sentiments. Why? On purpose and on paper theyÂ’re similar. The ImpalaÂ’s 5.7-liter LT1 V8 making 260 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque was impressive for a two-ton sedan in the mid-Â’90s. The Marauder was actually more powerful — its 4.6-liter V8 was rated at 302 hp and 318 lb-ft. The ImpalaÂ’s engine was also used in the C4 Corvette. The MarauderÂ’s mill was shared with the Mustang Mach 1. You can see why they resonated so deeply with Boomers longing for a bygone era and also captured the attention of coming-of-age Gen Xers. Car and DriverÂ’s staff gave the Marauder a lukewarm review back in ‘03, citing its solid handling and features, yet knocking the sedan for being slow off the line. In a Hemmings article appropriately called “Autopsy” from 2004, the ImpalaÂ’s stronger low-end torque and smooth shifting transmission earned praise, separating it from the more sluggish Mercury. All of this was captured in the carsÂ’ acceleration times, highlighting metrically the differences in their character. The Impala hit 60 miles per hour in 6.5 seconds, while the Marauder was a half-second slower, according to C/D testing. Other sites have them closer together, which reinforces the premise it really was the little things that separated these muscle cars. Both made the most of their genetics, riding on ancient platforms (FordÂ’s Panther and General MotorsÂ’ B-body) that preceded these cars by decades. Both had iconic names.

5 classic trucks and their polarizing modern revivals

Sun, Mar 3 2024

EVs are helping eliminate Detroit's gas-guzzling problem. Some revivals of gas-powered classics are getting the EV treatment.  But not every revived model looks exactly like its original counterpart. We're in a new era of hulking Detroit metal, and you can thank EVs. Americans can't get enough of their big, beefy trucks and SUVs. But for many years, some of the biggest gas guzzlers fell out of fashion as gas prices rose and emissions regulations tightened. But in the past few years, some of the most iconic American truck nameplates have been brought back to life with electric motors, like the GMC Hummer. In other cases, as with the Ford Bronco, improvements in engine technology and more interest in rugged adventure vehicles made a gas-powered revival possible. Even some revivals that started as gas-powered, like the Chevy Blazer and the Jeep Wagoneer, are now getting electrified spinoffs. (Even if they don't always look quite as sleek as their original inspiration.) Here are side-by-sides of five classic American trucks and their modern counterparts. The Jeep Wagoneer 1975 Jeep Wagoneer and 2024 Electric Jeep Wagoneer SStellantis After a long wait, Jeep released its revival of the classic Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer in 2020. Starting later this year, an electric version of the luxury Jeep SUV will join the Wagoneer lineup. The Chevrolet Blazer A 1973 Chevrolet Blazer and a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EVGetty Images, General Motors The Chevrolet Blazer was first rebooted in 2019 as a sporty family SUV. The modern Blazer shares zero resemblance to its boxy, off-roading older sibling, but it has still managed to become one of Chevy's more popular SUVs in recent years. The Blazer EV came later, and was one of the first models GM built on its new Ultium battery platform. The Hummer A Hummer H2 and the 2023 Hummer EV pickup truckGetty Images, General Motors Once the poster child for Detroit's big, bad gas guzzlers, the Hummer got new life as an electric pickup truck in 2021. The Ford Bronco A 1971 Ford Bronco and a 2022 Ford BroncoFord Motor Co. After a rouge group of engineers and designers inside Ford spent years trying to breathe life back into the Blue Oval's boxy off-roader, the Ford Bronco was finally resurrected in 2020 amid a rise in popularity for rugged adventure vehicles.
