UP FOR AUCTION IS MY 1994 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 3500 EXTENDED CAB DUALLY PICKUP TRUCK, IT HAS THE FULL SIZE BED, THE MOTOR IS A VERY STRONG AND RELIABLE 454 BIG BLOCK V8 WITH A 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION, IT HAS THE VERY LOW 1ST GEAR AND 5TH IS A HIGHWAY GEAR, THE TRUCK IS A LOADED SILVERADO MODEL, IT HAS A/C THAT WORKS JUST FINE, HOT HEAT, GOOD BRAKES, AND GOOD CLUTCH, UNLIKE MOST OLD,TRUCKS, THIS ONE WORKS! IM A RETIRED MECHANIC AND I HAVE GONE OVER EVERYTHING ON THIS TRUCK SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT. IT IS VERY RELIABLE, IT HAS NO MECHANICAL ISSUES, MOTOR IS VERY STRONG AND DOES NOT LEAK OR SMOKE OR USE ANY OIL AT ALL! THE TRANNY IS STRONG AS IS THE CLUTCH, I HAVE INSTALLED A NEW CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER AND A CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER, ALONG WITH NEW EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLES, NEW FRONT AND REAR BRAKES INCLUDING NEW FRONT CALIPERS AND REAR CYLINDERS, ALL WHEEL BEARINGS, NEW HYDROBOOST BRAKE AND STEERING UNIT, ALL FLUIDS CHANGED AND READY TO GO. THE TIRES ARE NEW WITHIN THE LAST YEAR, ALL 6 OF THEM, IT HAS A 3 INCH STEEL COWL INDUCTION HOOD AND SPORT MIRRORS, CUSTOM PAINT ON THE HOOD AND TAILGATE, NICE STEREO, I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK FROM A GUY WHO USED IT TO HAUL A RACE CAR AND TRAILER. IT SHOWS 93000 MILES ON THE OD, BUT THE THING QUIT WORKING ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO AND I HAVENT PUT MORE THAN 3000 MILES ON IT SINCE, I HAVENT LOOKED INTO THE PROBLEM, IM GUESSING IT IS THE SENDING UNIT ON THE TRANSMISSION OR A CONNECTION IN THE DASH, BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS JUST FINE AND I REALLY DIDNT BOTHER TO LOOK INTO IT. I FIGURE IF ITS NOT MOVING, IT ISNT ADDING MILES TO IT, BUT I ASSURE YOU IT WORKED FINE UNTIL A FEW MONTHS AGO. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY IT QUIT. BUT ONE LOOK AT THE MOTOR AND THE WAY IT RUNS, YOU WILL BE A BELIEVER IN THE MILEAGE, THE TRUCK RUNS TOO GOOD AND SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO HAVE ANY MORE THAN 93000 MILES ON IT. GREAT OIL PRESSURE, NEW ALLUMINUM RADIATOR, STAINLESS PACIFIC WHEEL SIMULATORS, INTERIOR IS NICE FOR A 1994 TRUCK, THE FRONT SEATS HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH HIGH BACK BUCKET SEATS FROM A CHEVY VAN. THE UNDERSIDE OF THIS TRUCK IS RUST FREE AND SOLID,, BODY IS VERY SOLID AND STRAIGHT. PAINT IS GLOSSY, NOW FOR THE NEGATIVES OF THE TRUCK. THE SEATS ARE COMFORTABLE, BUT THEY DONT MATCH THE REST OF THE INTERIOR, I HAVE SEAT COVERS ON THEM, BUT IF YOU WANTED TO PUT A SPLIT BENCH SEAT BACK IN IT, THEY ARE EASY TO FIND AND FAIRLY CHEAP FROM A SALVAGE YARD. THE OTHER ISSUE IS THE HOOD RELEASE CABLE IS BROKE, BUT IT DOES COME WITH A FREE SET OF PLIERS TO PULL WHAT IS LEFT OF THE RELEASE CABLE, EMERGENCY BRAKE RELEASE IS THE SAME ISSUE, BUT IT WORKS GREAT AND ALL YOU DO IS PULL THE CABLE TO RELEASE THEM. THE WINDSHIELD HAS A CRACK IN IT ALONG THE PASSENGER SIDE AND DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH YOUR VISION WHILE DRIVING, THATS ABOUT THE ONLY NEGATIVES ABOUT THE TRUCK, PRETTY SIMPLE FIXES, THE TRUCK ALSO HAS A ELECTRIC BRAKE BOX AND A HITCH BALL INSTALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BED, IT ALSO HAS A BEDLINER, LIKE I SAID THIS IS A GREAT RUNNING TRUCK, I WOULD BE COMFORTABLE DRIVING IT ACROSS COUNTRY, AND FOR A 454, IT ISNT ALL THAT BAD ON GAS EITHER. THE 5TH GEAR REALLY HELPS AND YOU NEVER HAVE TO USE 1ST GEAR DRIVING IT AROUND TOWN. WHEN I PULL MY BOAT OUT OF THE WATER, ALL I DO IS EASE THE CLUTCH OUT WITHOUT EVEN GIVING IT GAS AND IT WALKS RIGHT UP THE RAMP IN 1ST GEAR. I KINDA HATE TO GET RID OF IT, BUT MY WIFE WANTED A CHEVY AVALANCHE SO WE CAN LOAD THE GRANDKIDS UP AND SO THAT SHE CAN DRIVE IT! THIS IS TOO MUCH TRUCK FOR HER TO EVEN THINK ABOUT DRIVING, LET ALONE PARKING IT,. I CANT THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE THAT IVE DONE TO THE TRUCK SINCE IVE OWNED IT, BUT IM SURE THERE IS SOMETHING, ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT IT IS A VERY SOLID AND RELIABLE TRUCK THAT WILL PULL A HOUSE DOWN THE ROAD. IT IS BASICALLY ALL STOCK EXCEPT FOR THE HOOD, SEATS, AND MIRRORS. ANY QUESTIONS FEEL FREE TO ASK, I FEEL FOR WHAT IM ASKING FOR THIS DUALLY, YOU CAN T GO WRONG WITH IT. I WOULD EVEN CONSIDER A PARTIAL TRADE ON SOME GUNS AND CASH FOR IT, ANYTHING SEMI AUTO IN PISTOL OR RIFLE.AND CASH AND YOU CAN OWN A NICE TRUCK! IF YOU NEED ANY OTHER PICS, JUST ASK.

Chevy Volt owners log half a billion electric miles, 2015 production starts
Thu, Jun 19 2014As General Motors gets ready to start 2015 Volt production Monday, Chevrolet is looking back at some of the numbers that got the car to where it is today. The headline number is that Volt owners have collectively put more than a half-billion electric miles on their cars. The unsurprising upshot is that, if you went out and bought a Volt, you're pretty keen on getting as many electric miles out of it as possible. 90 percent of all Volt trips are done purely on electric power. The typical Volt driver goes 970 miles between fill-ups, GM says, and that means that 63 percent of all miles are done on battery power. General Motors executive director Larry Nitz gave AutoblogGreen a few more details on the usage habits of Volt drivers, including that 81 percent of commuting miles are electric. Two-thirds of US Volt drivers charge their vehicle 1.4 times a day, a clear indicator of drivers trying to maximize electric miles through opportunity charging. In fact, Nitz said, 90 percent of all Volt trips are done purely on electric power. GM also says that the Volt's official 35 miles of electric range is still doable for many owners who have had their car for more than 30 months. Looking ahead, we know that one upgrade for the 2015 Volt will be 4G LTE connectivity that can turn the car, like others in the GM family, into a mobile wifi hotspot. We're of course much more interested in when GM is finally going to start production of the next-gen Volt, but GM officials would only tell us that they're very excited about the still-secret vehicle, promising we'll be learning more "soon." Nitz did confirm that today's Volt drivers are most interested in three things from the next-gen model: more range, a lower price and a fifth seat. He did not say whether or not GM will be able to deliver on those requests. Chevrolet Volt Owners Surpass Half a Billion Electric Miles After 30 months of use, a sampling of Volts shows consistent all-electric range 2014-06-19 DETROIT Since its launch in late 2010, Chevrolet Volt owners have accumulated more than half a billion all-electric miles. Additionally, based on a General Motors' study of more than 300 Volts in service in California for more than 30 months, many owners are exceeding the EPA-rated label of 35 miles of EV range per full charge, with about 15 percent surpassing 40 miles of range.
Nissan Leaf ends 2013 with best sales month ever, but can't catch Chevy Volt
Fri, Jan 3 2014Nissan and Chevrolet both ended 2013 with solid sales figures for their plug-in vehicles, the first two that were released (all the way back at the end of 2010) from major automakers. As has been the story for most of 2013, December sales for the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt were roughly the same. When we left the year-to-date running tally at the end of November, the Volt was at 20,702, while the Leaf was at 20,080. As you can tell from the image above (if you've been noticing the trend in these EV sales monthly flash-reports), the Leaf outsold the Volt, but was it enough to put the Nissan on top for the year? In 2013, Nissan sold 22,610 Leafs, more than twice as many as in 2012. Almost. The Leaf made a valiant attempt, and did have its best month ever with 2,529 units sold. That means that for 2013, Nissan moved a total of 22,610 Leafs, more than twice as many as in 2012 (that year, Nissan sold only 9,819 Leafs in the US) and actually more than 2012 and 2011 Leaf sales combined (which was 19,493). Nissan continues to see the effects of its price drop and expanded sales areas, with Georgia rapidly becoming a Leaf hotbed. Nissan's Paige Presley said that Atlanta was once again the Leaf's number one market and that, "sales are expanding deeper into Georgia markets such as Macon and Columbus." The Volt saw a boost upwards from a November slump and sold 2,392 units in December. That puts the plug-in hybrid's annual total at 23,094, just down from the 23,461 sold in 2012. For all of 2013, though, the Volt outsold the Leaf by 484 vehicles. In a competition like this, we'll count that as a win for both sides. We will our more detailed monthly green car sales report, which covers more of the fuel efficient vehicles on the market, up soon. Mustang, Camaro, Challenger gallop onto USPS pony car postage stamp set
Tue, Jul 19 2022Some of America's most iconic cars are about to be immortalized on postage stamps. A new set by the U.S. Postal Service will celebrate the the golden era of pony cars, featuring five classic examples of Detroit iron. Each one is beautifully illustrated in oil-on-canvas style, with subjects in motion and sunlight glinting off the chrome, and would add a nice touch to any first-class letter. The pony car segment was all about (relatively) small, sporty alternatives to the full-size land yachts of the 1960s. They typically came equipped with 6-cylinder engines or small-block V8s. The category was named after the Ford Mustang, henceĀ the name. Some, though, argue that the Plymouth Barracuda, which was launched a couple of weeks before the Mustang, is the first. Luckily, the Falcon-based Mustang's distinct styling generated a sales sensation, or we might be calling them fish cars. Appropriately, one of the featured cars is a Mustang. But it's not just any Mustang. The 1969 Boss 302, seen here resplendent in Bright Yellow, was created for the hotly-contested SCCA Trans-Am racing series. One of its main rivals would have been the 1969 Chevy Camaro Z/28, also created specifically for the series, and is included in the set in Fathom Green. Representing Auburn Hills in the set is a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T in Plum Crazy, while Southfield's American Motors gets a nod with an AMC Javelin in Big Bad Orange. The Mustang's platform cousin, a 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7, is portrayed in a gorgeous Burgundy Poly that almost looks incomplete without Neko Case on the hood. It's not the first time the USPS has honored America's rich car culture on its stamps. In 2013, it issues a series of muscle car stamps with the help of Richard Petty. That set featured a 1966 Pontiac GTO, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1970 Chevelle SS, 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda and, of course, a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. Another set in 2016 featured classic pickup trucks. Going further back, a 2008 release had chroed and finned automobiles of the 1950sĀ and a 2005 release featured sporty American cars of the same era. The pony car stamps will debut on August 25 at the Great American Stamp Show in Sacramento, California in partnership with theĀ American Philatelic Society. The public is free to attend the dedication ceremony, but you must RSVP first. After that, they will be available at local post offices and on line at the USPS store.
