19448 original miles 350/5.7L engine starts easy, runs great, no leaks, new oil and filter TH400 3 speed automatic new fluid, no leaks, shifts great Corporate 14 bolt rear axle with 4.10 gears, open. 235/85R16 tires alternator charges fine service brakes work great emergency brake works all glass is good all lights work wipers work on both speeds Dash has several cracks Door panels and arm rest are in great shape. both inner fenders have heavy rust and the passenger cab corner has a small hole. the rest of the truck is clean as far as rust goes. Drivers side fender and bumper are dented pretty good. There are some small dings in the hood and both doors. On the seat, the light blue vinyl is sewn over the original vinyl. It has one tear on the drivers side. Heat only..No A/C This was an ex military truck used as a tank truck, then a rural fire department had it which is why it is red. Interior is still green There are heaters for the battery, engine oil, engine coolant, and transmission fluid. The wires have been cut (wire are still there) from the between the fender plug in to the firewall mounted junction. They could be spliced back together easily if one wanted. NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say
Fri, 05 Apr 2013The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.
