Purchased from Estate, The man was the original owner and was restoring the truck piece by piece until it was being driven by his wife and she ran a wooden barn door down half the passenger side of the truck.  He then started looking for dually flairs to start repairs.  But he passed before the job was done.  The truck has a TON of new parts. Motor was rebuilt 462 miles ago, transfer case was rebuilt at same time. Tranny is untouched since new but is solid good.  New exhaust from front to back ( there are still price tags on it in places ) Its heat wrapped from the front to wear the bed starts.  New body mounts and bolts, New bumpers and New new ,new, The list goes on.  Sweet sounding.  I have new carpet ready to be installed, plus a new dash mat, The drivers door is missing its inside panel, and the passenger side door window electric motor is weak. No Rust any where on the unit.  Please check pictures and if you have any questions please ask.  This is a super solid running truck. 4x4 works Great too. WOW is all have to say when driving the truck.  Only the driver side fuel tank works, the change over switch is not working.

I'm driving the truck daily until sold just because its fun to drive, brakes are a little soft but not real bad for daily use in normal traffic.  The truck can be left for 60 days in outside storage to help buyer work out transport or person pickup.  Or If buyer pays gas and return airfare I will drive it to them.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.

Officially Official: Chevrolet replaces Daewoo name in Korea

Chevrolet Camaro in Korea - Click above for high-resolution image

There once was a time when Daewoo was one of the biggest companies in South Korea. It was larger than both LG and Samsung, and second only to Hyundai. But these days the name is all but gone.
