Beautiful '81 Chevy K20 Lifted Show Truck on 2040-cars
Melbourne, Florida, United States
Beautiful custom 4X4 1981 Chevrolet K-20. With 18" springs, 4" drop shackles and 4" blocks in the rear, all spring over. The 46" Mickey Thompson Baja Claws fit underneath perfectly. SBC 350 .30 over with a 270 comp cam, ceramic coated headers, holly carb (fresh tune), NP205 and a turbo 350 all in GREAT running condition. There's a torsion control arm welded into the subframe, this truck needs NOTHING.
I hold a clean title to this truck! Truly turn key. I have taken her on 100+ mile trips to shows. She's really pretty fast in 1st gear. Running gear is a 1 ton corp. 14 bolt in the rear and the stock Chevy 10 bolt in the front (I have 8 lug hubs to match the rear also). Newly serviced .513 gears. The rear drive shaft is at perfect angle, the front is at a pretty steep pitch. This is my road queen so I don't wheel it hard enough for the front yoke binding to bother me, but if you were going to make a mudder out of her you'd want a true CV front drive shaft (and probably the 1 ton D60 to match the rear). Notice the antique tag and take a glance at statue 316.251: http://www.flsenate.gov/Laws/Statutes/2011/316.251 NOTE: I am not a lawyer, nor do I offer any legal advice. Take what you will from the phrase "antique automobiles" as defined in s. 320.08, [...] shall be excluded from the requirements of this section. This truck has been a joy to own and drive with only minimal maintenance. She has off road lights all throughout the undercarriage for when you're stuck on the trail. The build has less than 5k miles total. I have $10K in receipts. I have a ton more pictures here: http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/jshack02/media/A_sidedirversstool_zpsa5a30977.jpg.html I am well aware that you don't get the money back that you put into your toys, but I know what this rig is worth. I can't always answer, but I'll always respond to a text. Questions, just ask. Thank for looking, -Joel 205/529-3683 |

Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.
This 93-car Iowa auction is like a Big 3 classic muscle museum
Tue, Aug 27 2019Bill "Coyote" Johnson has been buying cars since high school and has amassed a collection totaling 113 vehicles, according to NBC 6 News. But time has changed his motivations and priorities, and he's decided to auction 93 of those cars, many of which are classic muscle from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Plymouth and Pontiac. The megasale will take place Sept. 14, 2019, in Red Oak, Iowa, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. A 1969 Plymouth Road Runner infected Coyote with a love for Detroit muscle when he was just a teenager, and his desire quickly turned into an obsession. He's spent the past 40 years finding, buying and working on a variety of makes and models. Unlike some collectors, Coyote didn't discriminate against certain brands and has rides from each of the Big 3 automakers. Included in the auction are Camaros, Satellites, Super Bees, Chargers, Challengers, Barracudas, Coronets, GTOs, Mustangs, Cutlasses and others. Possibly the most intriguing aspect of the auction is that all of these cars will be sold as-is with no reserve. Many of them will need work, depending on quality standards, but this seems like a golden opportunity to find a classic car without leaving a bank account in shambles. The auctions are open for bidding online now, and the full auction will take place on September 14. Check out the full listings and bid at VanDerBrink Auctions.
