1998 Gmc C/k 2500 Ext Cab 4x4 7.4l 454 Vortec Auto Rust Free California Truck!!! on 2040-cars
Clinton Township, Michigan, United States
THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION. LAST BIDDER OWNS IT. 1998 GMC C/K 2500 Extended Cab Short Bed (6.5 FOOT BED) 7.4L Vortec 454 Automatic with 101K one owner miles with a 8,000 pound working Ramsey power winch. Let me start by saying that this was a Park Ranger's truck and spent it's life in California since 1998. Just arrived here and has never seen snow or salt. 100% rust free body, see the pictures. It has a heavy duty front Ramsey chrome bumper and winch that was installed since new. It also has a rear diamond plate heavy duty bumper and front brush guard, installed when new. This truck was meticulously maintained and the oil was changed every 3K miles. This truck has just been completely serviced and is ready to go. The intake gaskets have been changed and it just received a brand new set of TransForce HT E rated 10 ply tires and Eagle alloy wheels at a cost of $1,600. This truck had a light bar on the roof and a few antennaes that have been professionally removed. This is rare find as this is a rust free California truck with a 454 Vortec 2500 4X4 series with a 6.5 foot bed. This is the best truck that GM ever built. You will look long and hard to find another one like it with these miles and condition as I have seen them with 300K+ miles still on the road working and running strong. The bottoms of the doors, rockers, jambs, tailgate, etc. are all completely corrosion free, see pictures. The truck runs and drives perfect and you can drive it home anywhere with confidence. Please note that front California license plate does not go with the truck and there is a minor dent if the right bed side, see pictures. Call KEN at 586-365-8902 with any questions on the truck. Zero or negative feedback bidder must contact me prior to bidding or your bid will be cancelled. Bid what you are willing to pay and please do not bid if you do not plan on following through. Please have your financing in order prior to bidding. Read the description and if there are any questions that you may have that I have not explained, feel free to call Ken. Listed by a licensed MI dealer. $99 doc fee on all sales. Michigan residents pay 6% sales tax and applicable title/plate fees. $300 immediate deposit due via paypal (Right at the END OF THE AUCTION - SAME NIGHT and the balance is due in 5 days). Balance can be paid by cash in person at delivery, bank to bank wire or cashiers/certified check. If payment is made with cashiers/certified check, we will hold the title until the funds clear. Fly into DTW (Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport), we will pick you up and provide you with a temporary tag to drive home on. Thank you. |

PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]
Wed, 19 Jun 2013PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Head over to PickupTrucks.com to read the full evaluation and the final results. You may be shocked to see exactly where some of the segment's newest additions placed. You can also watch a video on the test below.
Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own
Tue, 22 Jan 2013It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.
Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why
Sun, 27 Jan 2013Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.
