Was my Grandfathers truck. I can't justify keeping it as I need a tow rig with seats for the family. Grandpa putted it to the store and back every couple weeks. 79k on the clock and a desirable 454 and color combo. It drives like a new 28 year old truck and it's mechanically sound as can be. Aesthetically it needs a little TLC as it was stored outside.

Quick video of a trip around the block. Can't see it? Go here: http://youtu.be/7B73FHqAK38

Good:
  • 79,200 original miles. Hasn't rolled over. True sub 100k pickup.
  • 454 - Turbo 400 - 14-bolt full floater - Dual tanks.
  • Last year for no catalyst and carb.
  • Full trans rebuild 6500 miles ago (16 years ago, but yeah, 6500 miles).
  • Full brake service including master cylinder 3k miles ago
  • Never smoked in

Bad:

  • Sat outside in Grandpa's driveway its whole life so the paint on the hood and roof is cooked off. It has a few dings and scratches as well.
  • 20 years ago it had a canopy. There are mounting holes and some surface rust on the bed rails.
  • Grandpa apparently never rolled the windows down and both window motors failed within a month of me getting the truck. New motors are $25 on Amazon, I'm just a busy guy.
  • Same thing with the A/C compressor. He never used the A/C and the compressor seized as soon as I turned it on.
  • Drivers vent window lower hinge is broken. It holds itself closed fine but would flap around if you tried to drive with it open.
  • Passenger lock cylinder doesn't seem to match the drivers and should be rekeyed to match.
  • Looks like a loose tire chain beat up the wheel well molding on the left rear.
  • Volt meter doesn't work. Battery and charging system are perfectly functional. All other gauges work including the clock.
Here's a shot of the RPO tag. As you can see this was a heavily optioned truck. G80 locker, dual batteries, tilt, power everything. Not sure if there were any options it didn't have.

Clean title in my name.

The Chevrolet Bolt is headed to China as a Buick SUV

Thu, Jan 16 2020

When spy photos of what appeared to be Chevrolet Bolt EV with some minor front- and rear-end updates circulated last week, Autoblog surmised that GM was working on some sort of Bolt-based vehicle — potentially a crossover — to be sold in China as a Buick. We may just have corroboration for that theory. On Thursday, Motor1.com spotted a story published earlier this week on the Chinese site Auto Home which claims that GM has applied to sell an all-electric SUV under the Velite 7 nameplate in China.  There's little differentiating the Velite 7's exterior from the Bolt EV's, apart from bumpers, badges, and a little extra ground clearance. Up front, the bowtie is replaced by a round Buick badge, and the bumper picks up an almost Prius-like appearance thanks to contrasting vertical elements and a thin grille bleeding into the head lights to give it a full-width appearance. Chevy Bolt-based prototype View 16 Photos If the Chinese report is accurate, there is one significant difference under the skin. Per the application, the Buick crossover variant is to be powered by a 174-horsepower electric powertrain. That's down 26 horsepower from the Bolt EV's powertrain, and we can't help but think that a lifted Buick variant might just need every pony it can get.  The needs of the Chinese market are unique, and we're certain GM knows what it's doing if these figures are accurate. We have no reason to believe Buick plans to sell the Velite 7 EV here in the States, though we expect an updated Chevy Bolt eventually, and we wouldn't be surprised if Buick brings something along shortly to fill the void left by the departure of the Regal sedan and its variants.  Related Video:

2020 Chevy and GMC HD truck spy shots reveal LED lighting

Mon, Aug 20 2018

With Chevy and GMC's 1500 series pickups just starting to roll into dealerships, our attention naturally turns to the Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500 series trucks. We've seen these HD trucks testing already, but thes latest spy photos give us our first good glimpse of the two HD trucks' headlights through some translucent camouflage, and their designs appear very interesting and quite different from each other. The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD looks to be getting a striking set of LED lights that flank the grille. A previously released teaser image of the truck shows that the front lighting elements are split by a bulky wing that branches out from a big, upright chrome face, and both top and bottom units seem to incorporate LED slashes. If you look closely at the images, you can easily make out the Chevrolet script cut into the grille's top edge. Amidst a bevy of Chevy test trucks was one lone GMC model in a dually configuration, and the Sierra HD also appears to have some LED accent lighting up front. Unlike the boomerang-shaped Chevy LEDs, GMC's version sports a shoulder-like right angle of light bars. Assuming these are production-level lighting units, it seems the Sierra HD will stick pretty close to the face of GMC's latest light-duty pickup truck. We're still waiting for confirmation on what range of powertrains will be available in GM's next-gen HD trucks, but we're sure there will be both gasoline- and diesel-burning engines on the ordering sheet. We expect to hear official details on the trucks sometime soon. New 2016 Chevy Volt ad arrives in time for Tomorrowland

Tue, May 12 2015

As summer approaches, so do the blockbusters. We've already seen Furious 7 and The Avengers: Age of Ultron, while Mad Max: Fury Road arrives this week. Next week's big debut is Disney's Tomorrowland, starring George Clooney, and not surprisingly, the advertising campaign is kicking into gear. Perhaps attempting to capitalize on the high-tech theme of the flick, Chevrolet has teamed up with Disney for the second-generation Volt's very first commercial appearance. As we reported previously, the Volt will star on the big screen when Tomorrowland hits theaters, and it will be accompanied by the EN-V Concept. Take a look at the Volt's Tomorrowland spot, up top.
