1985 GMC K25 High Sierra 4 x 4 Up for auction is a nice original 1985 GMC K25 Sierra 4 x4 with a 350 ci engine, automatic transmission, air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, power windows and locks. The engine has recently (1,000 miles ago) been overhauled from the carburetor to the oil pan. A RV camshaft was installed as well as tubular headers and new dual exhaust. The transfer case was also serviced and had new seals installed at the time of overhaul. The 4x4 functions correctly. The truck cab is sealed very tight, there is very little wind noise going down the road. The brakes are good and steering is tight. The truck has very little rust. It was spot painted years ago but has no bond-o or other rust repair. The factory bench seat has been redone but now has minor rip on the driver side (please see pictures). The air conditioning works but does need charged. The odometer currently reads 14,533 (114,533) but may vary slightly as it is still being driven. Man spent $75 on a truck that lasted 38 years
Mon, Jan 5 2015Absurd as it is, some buyers today are worried about getting their car to last throughout the term of their seven-year car loan. Minnesota resident Bob Sportel has the opposite issue: his Chevrolet truck seemingly won't die. Sportel needed a cheap ride to get to work when he took a job at a farmer's co-op 38 years ago, so he bought a rusty 1957 Chevy pickup for $75 from a farmer; at the time, the 20-year-old truck was almost as old as Bob was. After nearly four decades of daily driving and an estimated 300,000 miles, Sportel is still driving the truck today. Bolts secure a fender, Bondo secures the lights, what looks like a whole roll of duct tape keeps him sitting on the bench seat instead of in it. For a 58-year-old pickup that's never seen a garage or a new coat of paint – but did get its oil changed four times a year – that's not bad; Sportel thinks his repair bill hasn't got above $1,000 for the entire time he's owned the truck. 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray order guide hits the web
Mon, 15 Apr 2013The official debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is only part of the excitement for fans of Chevy's virtuoso sportscar. Although we got to see the car and some of its preliminary specs in Detroit and Geneva, there is still no word on pricing and some of the juicier data points we've been waiting for - such as confirmed power output, EPA estimated mileage figures and performance numbers. Until then, CorvetteBlogger has gotten its hands on the order guide for the coupe version of the car - in both base and Z51 iterations - revealing tidbits like standard and optional features and available color combinations.
Some other new details made it onto the order guide, such as our first interior specs for the coupe including slightly less hip room and headroom, more shoulder room and the same amount of legroom.
