I am selling my father’s truck that he has had for
the past year and this one has been remarkably reliable and is a very healthy
one. We are all finished up on the house projects and he is ready to downsize
and it’s a shame as it’s a super truck. Here’s what we have:
The mechanicals all check out with straight-As. Under the hood is
the 5.7L V8 that pulls very strong and sounds great. The automatic transmission
shifts perfectly through the gears with no issues. The brakes are strong and a
couple of months ago a portion of line and the rear wheel cylinders were
replaced. The suspension is comfortable and tracks smooth with no noises from
the wheels. The steering is a bit soft but the truck doesn’t wander excessively
and there are no leaks to fault it so we never bothered. It’s an older truck
with miles and that’s just how it drives. The exhaust is quiet, the truck
doesn’t smoke, and there are no warning lights illuminated. It is two-wheel
drive and gets fairly good gas mileage with still enough power to pull a
trailer which it does easily with the class-3 hitch on the back. No foreseeable
work needs to be done and it’s a turn-key dependable worker.
The interior of the truck is beautiful with nice cloths seats
that don’t have any tears, burns or stains, the carpets are in great condition
and they were always kept clean. The headliner has a couple small rips but does
not sag at all. The dash is in perfect shape with no big cracks, the power
buttons all work, the a/c compressor kicks on but doesn’t blow cold and we
never had it checked out as it was not a priority, and the heat is red hot so
you’ll be comfortable for winter to come. There is an aftermarket cd player
installed which as great sound through the factory speakers.
The body of the truck is really nice for a truck that’s
been used and driven as there are no rot or bubbles that I can find. I hope
some extra pictures of the rockers and fenders aid in my emphasis on how clean
of a body it has. There are some small dents, the most notable on the nose of
the hood and the tail gate, but all pretty negligible in-the-line-of-duty
bumps. The clear coat is fading on the roof but nowhere else around it. There
is a nice set of tires on it, the fronts are normal and the backs have some
extra ‘nob’ but don’t affect the handling. The bed is in good condition but no
liner so the marks are obvious and apparent in the pictures. It’s a good
looking one from any angle.
All-in-all this is a really awesome running truck
with a very healthy body and interior that has been very well kept. The truck
has a clear Florida title and was registered there while my father was living
in the state last year. He has opted not to return in the foreseeable future
and thus is being sold here in Central NJ. I am selling it with no reserve on
auction and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Please ask
prior to bidding and please respect my integrity as a seller by being a real
buyer yourself!
As-Is Condition
While I hold the truck in a very
confident regard, it is being sold as-is where-is with no guarantees or
warranties expressed or implied. My description and pictures describe the
vehicle in its current state to the best of my knowledge and any inconsistencies
or aspects of the sale or vehicle that you may be unclear about are the
responsibility of the purchaser to express prior to the end of the auction.
I’ll be happy to assist you in any way I can.
Payment
A deposit of $500 must be
made within 24 hours of the end of the auction and can be made only through
PayPal. Full payment must be made for the vehicle within 7 calendar days of
auction’s end. Full payment can be made in cash or a certified bank check.
After one week if I have not heard from the buyer regarding his/her plans to
pay in full and pick up the truck, I hold the right to retain the deposit to
cover eBay fees and the time inconvenience of re-running the vehicle.
Shipping
Shipping and pickup is the
responsibility of the buyer. Any expenses associated with shipping or pickup
will be additional expenses the buyer must handle. If you would like me to
suggest a shipping service I know personally and hold in high regard, please
contact me directly for that information prior to auction end. I will only meet
a shipper or individual and pass over the title and keys at a mutually
convenient time at the vehicle’s current location but I am happy to help in this
way.
“0” Feedback Bidders
If you have zero feedback or
if your only feedback states negative remarks, please contact me prior to
bidding. I hold the right to cancel bids from anyone with zero feedback that
has not made contact to confirm their intent to win and purchase the car. For
that reason, if I message you regarding your interest, please respond to
confirm your intent. The car is for sale locally and I may end the listing
early if purchased in person. Please be a real buyer with respect for a real
seller. Many thanks!

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue. In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.

MotorWeek's Retro Review series gives us a nostalgic look back at some of the best sports cars and luxury sedans available in the 1980s and '90s. For its latest clip, the show shifts gears to remember the 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Similar to the success of crossovers today, SUVs were tallying big sales and making big money for automakers in the mid-'90s. The Tahoe and Yukon filled slots in the market as steps down from the larger Suburban. These twins weren't wanting for space, though, with plenty of room to haul around a family. MotorWeek came away generally impressed too, and called the models some "of the better riding sport utilities we've ever experienced." This review comes with some jazzy, electric guitar licks to enjoy in the background.

Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London. In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around. If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.
