Early 1980 Chevy truck. Does need some work.

Stuff that is wrong.

1. Front brakes are grabbing and pull to the right. I was told that it needs new rubber brake lines. Has new caliper and pads on drivers side.
2. Needs shocks
3. Wing windows missing handles.
4. Slow power steering leak.
5. Has rust.
6. Front cab mounts are rusted. Cab is still solid, but the mounts are rusted.
7. Throttle cable is broke. I have it working with a zip tie. Basically the metal ball on the cable pulled threw the plastic insert that goes on the peddle.
8. Dings and one major dent that would pop out. I just never done it. On the passenger door.
9. Drivers side wiper are will need replaced. Passenger side was replace last year. It wont hold a wiper anymore. Might just be the wiper also.
10. Seat is tore up.
11. Drivers side tail light busted.
12. No mirror on passengers side.
13. Drivers side window might be off track. It will roll down but is hard to get all the way back up.

All in all not to bad for a old truck. If I think of anything else I will edited the listing.

Some good stuff now.

1. Small block 305. This motor came out of a 1985 shortbed 4x4. Dip stick is on the drivers side. I was told when I bought this motor that it was rebuilt 60,000 miles ago. I have no proof of this. The motor is strong. I've put about 3,000 miles on it since Ive had it.
2. Newly rebuilt Turbo 350 transmission. I had this tranny built. It was built by a gentleman that does this for a living. No it was not rebuilt in a professional shop. He does a lot of work in his shop for dirt track and stock car drivers. Only does trannys, no motors. The tranny was built to handle 400 horses. Has a TCI shift kit. Will hold in any gear for as long as you want. I have never tried it. It does have a snap to it. Has B&M trick shift fluid in it.
3. 1200 stall converter.
4. Edelbrock performer intake.
5. Edelbrock 650 carb.
6. Nice Edlebrock Heavy aluminum breather, with K&N filter. Used recharge kit will come with it also.
7. Electric fans out of a Honda. They are on a toggle switch. I never put them on a sensor. They have always kept the truck cool. I put them on there just to pull some more horse power out of the motor.
8. Old headers, into old glasspaks that run into very short pipes. I get a lot of compliment on the way the truck sounds. It is fairly loud according to my wife. I've never had any complaint from inspectors or cops. They do not seem to be leaking.
9. After market Oil, Temp, and Volt meter gauges. These are just cheap ones from O'reillys. I set them in the dash. See picture.
10. 15 inch aluminum wheels. Tires are in good shape. Not a matching set though. Front matches the front and back matches the back. All wheels are matching.
11. All glass is in god shape. No cracks.

Well folks that about all I can think of. I've owned this truck for about 8 years. It had a straight 6 in it when I bought it. It died so I put the 305 in it, then the tranny died shortly after. So I had one built and put it in. If this truck sells I will miss it, but we are going RVing and will not have a place to keep it. Also I do not know how many original miles are on the truck. The dash reads 6,840 right now. Truck is sold as is, No warranty. I can not ship. You will need to provide your own method of pick up. Thanks for looking and if you have any questions I will be happy to answer them. The answers will be honest too, I have no need for the bad karma. Thanks.

Sinkhole Opens Up In National Corvette Museum, Swallows Eight Cars

Wed, Feb 12 2014

More cars are being moved inside the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky. to avoid falling down the same sinkhole that swallowed eight classic sports cars early this morning, Autoblog reported. Museum officials said the hole was discovered when motion sensors activated around 5:45 a.m. The rescue mission can be viewed on the museum's live feed cameras, which weren't working after the sinkhole emerged. A 1993 ZR-1 Spyder and a 2009 ZR1 "Blue Devil," both on loan from General Motors, were among the cars that fell into the sinkhole. The museum owned the other affected Corvettes, which included a 1963 Corvette, a 1984 PPG Pace Car and the 1 millionth Corvette ever produced. The state of the cars at the bottom of the hole isn't known, but trial lawyer and sinkhole expert Ted Corless said the cars may be a total loss for the museum and GM. "Most states, including Kentucky, exclude damage caused by sinkhole activity," he said. "There will be, in all likelihood, a claim made, but a lot of policies would specifically exclude these kinds of damages." Corless has 15 years experience dealing with sinkholes. He said that typically neither the building, nor the cars themselves are protected under their insurance policies. "I would have to say, more likely then not, they're going to have an uninsured loss measured in the hundreds of thousands of dollars." The museum is closed Wednesday while a structural engineer assesses the damage. General Motors shaking up its marketing... again

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")

GM patent reveals new two-stage turbocharger

Fri, Jun 24 2016

Modern turbochargers may be some of the best ever made, but performance is something that engineers are always trying to improve. According to GM Inside News, General Motors (GM) is hoping to alleviate some of the negative aspects of a two-stage turbocharger setup with a newly-patented design. The patent, that was filed on May 19, 2016, reveals a clever bypass system that allows the engine, a four-cylinder unit, to optimize both the low-pressure and high-pressure inlets for its respective functions. According to the filing, a conventional two-stage turbocharger setup is engineered to allow both turbines to operate simultaneously at low and mid engine speeds. At high engine speeds, only the low-pressure turbine works. The setup can't isolate either the low or high pressure side, which can impair low-end performance. GM's new two-stage turbocharger setup looks to eliminate this by linking the high-pressure turbo to the exhaust manifold through the high-pressure inlet duct. The low-pressure turbo is attached to the high-pressure turbo by a low-pressure inlet duct, which is linked to a connecting channel. A single actuator that is housed in the exhaust manifold creates a bypass that can opens the high-pressure inlet or close the connecting channel. Depending on what the engine load and speed is, the ECU guides the actuator—a single rotating spindle with discs corresponding to flanges on the high and low pressure sides—to isolate one of the two turbos. Isolating the turbos allow the respective inlets to be engineered for the best possible fluid dynamic performance. The setup should increase performance and decrease lag. There's no word on what car this setup will make an appearance on, but it will most likely be used in premium vehicles before trickling down to the rest of GM's vehicles.
