1993 Chevy Custom Show Truck Chiefs Tailgater on 2040-cars
Warrensburg, Missouri, United States
1993 Chevy Custom Show Truck - Extended Cab Pickup - 58K original miles, 350 V8 Engine, Automatic Transmission, full power. Be the coolest tailgater this year with this exceptional ride. Many options, power windows, etc all working perfectly. Red interior is in excellent condition and very comfortable. The truck still smells like new inside. There are no scratches, dents or waves, it just looks as good as you see here only better in person. This truck rolls on American Eagle Boss series alloys with new Goodyear Eagle L-S rubber. The engine is the original numbers matching 350 4-bolt main which has been kept stock. The factory fuel injection system was kept intact, and coupled with a HyperTech performance prom. Other than some engine dress up parts, nothing has been done to the engine and drive train to modify it. You can jump in and drive it home worry free as it was meant to be. The exhaust is a new stainless Flow Master muffler and Catalytic converter, three inch pipe in, and dual 2.5 out, creating a rich, mellow tone finished with stainless tips. All emission related parts are on the truck as when new and should pass any testing nation-wide. The trucks frame is beautiful and very detailed. The frame looks like stainless with clear coat. This truck did not see dirt roads or rough driving as it was converted to a customized show truck early on in its life. The front suspension consists of a Bell-Tech 3 inch lowering system. A rear Airbag ride lift system was installed to allow you to lower the truck when you are at a show and raise it when driving over speed bumps. Brake linings are new throughout. The dash is perfect, no cracks or broken parts with everything working. The climate system works perfectly and the air is ICE COLD. For the tunes, there are two individual sound systems centered around a Pioneer Premier DNT 400. The tunes for the cab are enhanced by a 250W MTX Thunder amp and speakers. It sounds great when running down the road. When cruising or tailgating, the 1000W Clarion system built in the bed will turn all the heads. Can you imagine this at a KC Chiefs tailgate party!? This truck ALWAYS starts and performs well and does not leak. Other than test drives, a couple short cruises and cool car show events, this truck does a lot of sitting in my shop. The Original manual, Identa plate, and spare plastic emergency keys are still in the glove box. There are numerous other things done to it that far exceeds the modest reserve we are asking. Space is limited here but if you want more info, drop me a note or call. This truck will be eligible for collector’s plates this year. The reason for selling this beautiful truck is that I have had it for 6 years. I've had fun finishing out small details, enjoyed driving it on important occasions and shows, but, quite frankly, it’s time for a change. I would be interested in working a trade for a higher mileage 1999 through 2005 Corvette needing a little TLC. So I'm going to let her go…. Clear title, and you can drive it home today. You can bring a mechanic to verify the things mentioned here. If you want it but live far away, I can ship it as I have 4 carriers I can work through. I will need your Zip Code for an accurate quote. Another option is flying in and driving it home. You can buy with confidence. This truck also comes with a CAR FAX. The price is really reasonable for the quality of truck offered here, however, if you can't live with the price, make us an offer and we'll consider it. Call me at 660 747 9857 for MANY more pictures and detailed information. I can be reached via e-mail, but I work best off the phone. You can also call the 9857 number after 7:00 pm, up until 10:00. |

GM to idle car production at five factories as Americans continue CUV love affair
Mon, Dec 19 2016In case you needed another reminder that Americans have fallen out of love with sedans, General Motors today announced plans to idle five factories in January in a bid to cut its inventory to 70 days. Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly ( Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Chevrolet Volt and Impala) and Fairfax Assembly in Kansas ( Chevy Malibu) will stop production for three weeks. Lansing Grand River ( Cadillac ATS and CTS, and Chevy Camaro) is going down for two weeks, while Lordstown, OH ( Chevy Cruze) and Bowling Green, KY ( Chevy Corvette) will go idle for a week each, Automotive News reports. GM's shutdown reflects a broader problem with the company's supply – at 847,000 vehicles, the company's supply increased unsteadily from a low of 629,000 units in January of 2016. That's more than a 25 percent increase in the past year. Citing information from Autodata, The Detroit News reports that at the end of November, GM had a 168-day supply of LaCrosses, 177 days' worth of Camaro, 170 days of Corvette, 121 days for Cruze, 119 days for ATS, 132 days for CTS, and 110 days of CT6. Meanwhile, inventory of the company's more popular vehicles is actually below the professionally accepted 60- to 70-day supply, The News reports. The Trax, Colorado pickup, and GM's full-size SUVs are sitting below 50 days and experiencing year-over-year sales increases. GM needs a rethink of its inventory levels, which is something that's apparently coming. "We're going to be responsible in managing our inventory levels," GM spokesman Jim Cain told The News. Another unnamed spokesman told Automotive News the company's day-to-day supplies would "fluctuate before moderating at year-end." But at least one analyst thinks this won't be the last time Detroit needs to stop production to level things out. "Incentives are elevated, residuals are declining, and rates are rising," Brian Johnson, an analyst with Barclays, told The News. "And while GM in particular may benefit in the months ahead from new product launches, it's important to recognize that GM's inventory is elevated at the moment, and it wouldn't surprise us if they need to announce another production cut – which could pressure the stock." GM profits threatened by glut of pickups
Wed, 05 Dec 2012Automotive News reports that General Motors may slash production or ramp up discounts in order to deal with an oversupply of pickup trucks. GM currently has more than double the standard supply of pickups, and the vehicles are threatening to dampen the automaker's profits for 2013. Typically, automakers try to sustain a 60- to 75-day supply of vehicles, but GM is currently loaded with a 139-day supply, as of last month. At the end of November, the automaker was sitting on 245,853 units.
The manufacturer says that it will adjust production accordingly before laying any incentives on the profitable pickups. Even so, there's some concern that the inventory swell could hurt the roll-out of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM actually began slowly stepping back production in August, but it's clear the company will take further action as it heads toward the end of the year and into the next. Analysts predict the automaker could reduce pickup manufacturing by nearly half in the first quarter of 2013.
That still may not be enough to keep GM from laying extra cash on the Silverado and GMC Sierra. While the company's incentive spending was down in November compared to the same month in 2011, both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 saw double-digit percentage increases in sales last month while the Silverado and Sierra numbers slid compared to a year prior. Incentive spending could help move more trucks and add some balance to the GM inventory surge.
GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
