1990 Chevrolet C1500 Silverado Standard Cab Pickup 2-door 5.7l on 2040-cars
Detroit, Michigan, United States
I purchased this truck in Atlanta, GA in 2008. The truck was factory except for a C-notch to the frame and HID headlights. In March of 2009 I began the installation of a 350 create engine and a new fuel pump. The interior was removed except for the dash. Leather two tone seats were installed with burgundy perforated leather and micro suede door panels. A 1995 console was wrapped in burgundy leather and repainted in gray, Behind the seats are 2 12" Rockford Fostgate sub-woofers the boxes are covered in gray micro-suede along with the roof panel and sun visors. Empire Motorsports billet door accents, upper and lower dash, vents, speaker door covers and pedals. Grant mahogany and billet steering wheel. From Superior Custom real rose wood accents on dash and center console. Alpine CD player with power booster and power reservoir. Exterior: Phantom billet grill, new windshield, billet antenna , Sir Michaels roll pan molded in. Billet steps, Bed Rug, Anzo LED tail lights, Checkmate bed cover, low profile fiberglass wing, Reflexxon steel cowl hood, Godfather Customs steel front bumper with 2 billet grills and cat eye fog lights. 22" U2 Chrome wheels. Suspension: Bell Tech shackles, hangers, shocks. The bottom leaf was removed for a perfect ride height. The engine has about 2500 miles on it and it was used as a summer pleasure vehicle. The engine runs perfect with a slight rumble from the shorty headers. The 3.08 rear gives it a smooth top end feel on the highway and the engine on takeoff with burn a little rubber. As a artist I designed this truck to turn heads and retain a sleek custom profile. |

Chevy Trax engineer says GMC version possible
Mon, Dec 8 2014The Buick Encore is doing so well and its platform-mate the Chevrolet Trax has such good reviewer vibes going for it already, that a GMC version hasn't been ruled out. During the recent press launch, Automotive News asked lead engineer Al Manzor if the Trax could wear a GMC-branded suit, to which Manzor replied, "I think that is certainly possible." That's a long way from telling us anything about the probability of a GMC version of the Trax, and a legion of questions would need to be answered before it could happen. How would a GMC version be priced to leave room for the $26,465 GMC Terrain but not eat into sales of the $20,995 Trax or the $24,035 Encore? Or would that matter? Could it primarily be considered to encourage a new faction of The Yukon Set at the compact end, GMC buyers being famously committed to the marque? And of course, would there be a Denali version? It'll probably be a long while before we have any kind of answers, but if you want to see it happen, the door to your campaign of persuasion is at least ajar.
Mustang retakes monthly pony car sales crown from Camaro
Wed, Dec 3 2014Going back to their origins in the Swinging '60s, the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro have been fierce rivals for fans' hearts and dollars. Historically, the Ford often led in volume, but Chevy took the muscle car top spot in 2009 upon the Camaro's rebirth. However, with the launch of the latest Blue Oval pony car, the tide is turning back in Ford's favor. November was the first full month of sales for the new 2015 Mustang, and according to TheDetroitBureau.com, the model did spectacularly well. The Blue Oval shifted 8,728 of them, up 62 percent from same month last year, with the automaker proclaiming it the model's best November sales since 2006. Conversely, 4,385 units of the Camaro were delivered, down 13.5 percent year-over-year, meaning its sales were roughly half that of the new-generation Mustang. Ford is understandably happy with the results, and product development director Raj Nair even hinted to TDB that another version of the Mustang might be unveiled at January's North American International Auto Show. Rumor has it that the model will be the even more potent Shelby Mustang GT350R. Despite the Mustang's November success, the Camaro outsells it year to day. So far in 2014, Ford has sold 73,124 Mustangs versus 79,669 examples of the Camaro. With December offering the last chance for an overtake, the Bowtie may yet remain king for this year's sales crown. A new Camaro is peeking over the horizon, as well. It's reportedly moving to the Alpha platform used by the Cadillac ATS, and production could start in late 2015. Prototypes are already testing at the Nurburgring, and camouflaged examples have been spotted weirdly being compared to its '80s forefather.
'84 MotorWeek Cherokee, Bronco and Blazer comparison indulges your SUV nostalgia
Fri, Jan 16 2015These days, truck-based, full-frame SUVs are somewhat of a rarity on the auto landscape due to the rapid rise in popularity of easier-driving, car-based crossovers. Although, without the gradually building popularity of these chunky, high-riding vehicles decades ago, it's unlikely that America's roads would be filled with so many CUVs today. In its latest dig into the archives, MotorWeek has found a 1984 comparison test of a trio of these early Sport Utility Wagons, as long-time host John Davis called them, that helped get acceptance of this segment going. This is a red, white and blue test of the SUVs from American automakers at the time and pits the Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Bronco and Jeep Cherokee (specifically in Wagoneer guise) against each other. Driving manners and interior usability are considered in the evaluation, but Motorweek actually takes these vehicles off road, too. Among the bigger revelations is the improvement in on-road ability in the past 30 years. While specific 0-60 times aren't given, all three models take around 10 seconds just to get to around 50 miles per hour in the 500-feet on-ramp acceleration test. Check out this clip to see just how far this segment has progressed in the past three decades or just get a blast of nostalgia from these now vintage models.
