1987 Chevy K10, 4x4, Auto, Short Bed, Ready To Paint Or Drive!! on 2040-cars
Hanna, Indiana, United States
Truck is very clean, all rust removed and new metal welded in. Previous owner had a new crate motor installed with very little miles on it, I did not get any paperwork on the motor but the previous owner was an older guy that seemed real honest. the truck sat from 2006 per previous, until the new motor was installed, the truck was used very little, the truck has about 119000 miles on it, not sure how many miles on the motor, I would guess very low. I purchased the truck about 6 months ago to do the body work and paint. Most of the body work is done, it needs some minor filler work and sanding. I do not have the time to finish it, I work full time and farm part time, and now two new grandchildren. you can put a few things back on the truck and drive it if wanted or sand it and pull it in your garage and paint it. I have all the parts that were taken off to do a better paint job and will go with the truck. I have about $3,500 in the truck, And about $1,000 in brand new tires, I'm not interested in making any money, just need to let the truck go, I need the room in the garage, and I don't have the time to finish it, and maybe getting too old for projects. I'm not going to detail everything about the truck, so please ask all questions before bidding. I believe the only thing the truck needs that does not go with it is a muffler. The truck needs to be trailered because the glass has been removed,(glass place will reinstall the glass for about $150) no muffler, and the light covers are removed. If your local I have a place that will rent a nice trailer for under $100.00, or you can use U-haul, or have it shipped, it is cheap to ship a truck, please check. The truck is sold as-is, sold as a project truck, please come and see the truck and drive it, ask all questions, and do not bid unless you are sure you want the truck. I am a very honest person, see my feedback. Non-refundable $500 deposit paid thru paypal within 8 hours of auction end, no exceptions. |

China's rise, global restructuring wither GM's Korea division
Wed, Jan 7 2015An article in the Daily Kanban suggests the sun is setting on GM Korea, and it could already be well into dusk. GM Korea came about when General Motors, along with co-investors SAIC and Suzuki, bought Daewoo Motors from parent company Daewoo Group in 2001; it had a previous tie-up with GM, a joint venture that ended in 1992, although Daewoo cars were based on GM cars until 1996. Over the decade following the purchase, it became such an important part of operations that it was renamed GM Korea in 2011, "to reflect its heightened status in [the] global operations of GM." Just two years later, the printed rumors were that the subsidiary responsible for a fifth of Chevrolet's global production could be shutting down. The division's sales were down almost 21 percent through November of last year, counting domestic South Korean sales, exports, and CKD – Complete Knock Down – products. That makes the labor strife, already an issue for four years, even more acute, reports say the subsidiary will lose $36 million a year if it can't get the job and wage cuts it wants, and government concessions can't make up for the losses. And it gets worse, so head over to Daily Kanban to read the rest of the story.
Mysterious white powder discovered at GM Orion Assembly
Fri, Sep 2 2016Workers at General Motors Orion Assembly Plant in Orion Township, MI uncovered a mysterious white powder in two different parts of the factory earlier this week, raising concerns about worker safety. "We can confirm that an unknown substance (white powder) was found on the floor outside of Gate 6 at Orion Assembly on Monday, August 29. On Tuesday, August 30, we had a second report of a bottle containing a similar substance found inside the plant," GM spokesperson Dayna Hart told The Oakland Press via email. GM stressed that incident didn't disrupt operations at the plant, and that the company was taking steps to ensure the safety of the sprawling factory's workers. That did include, an anonymous worker told The Oakland Press, closing off parts of the factory for two full days, as drug-sniffing dogs and crews in haz-mat suits descended on the area. "A sample of the substance has been sent to a laboratory for identification and results are expected later this week," Hart said. "All findings and actions have been shared with our employees." Orion Assembly currently builds the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano, and will eventually be responsible for production of the new, all-electric Chevy Bolt early next year. Related Video:
Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.
