Up for auction is my 1985 Chevy C-10 short bed pick-up truck ,I am the 3rd owner of this truck which I was told by the former owner that it was originally a 6 cyl. engine that was swapped out for a low milage Chevy 350 with an edelbrock intake ,I replaced the carb with a new holley 600 cfm added a tune up, which consisted of a new set of Accel 8mm wires ,cap, rotor and a set of AC Delco spark plugs . Truck also has headers and turbo mufflers that exit in front of the rear tires. The transmission is a 350 turbo with a shift kit. As far as the brakes go a new master was installed as well as a new radiator that was replaced about 6 months ago.I also had a new windshield installed, and the rest of the glass is in very good condition. This truck also has a custom grill as well as a rear Lund roll pan.The truck sits on a set of American Racing wheels with P255/70-15 Intimidator Roadking SR tires, the spare tire rim matches whats on the truck. As far as the interior goes I replaced the carpet and installed a JVC CD player with remote control however you will need to replace speakers and there is a small tear on the drivers seat .The body of the truck is in pretty good shape, the front bumper is very clean and the cab corners which seems to be the norm for these trucks to be replaced is really the only bad thing and will have to be done in addition to a paint job.The bed of the truck is in super clean condition as the pictures will show.THE RESERVE IS SET VERY LOW FOR THIS AUCTION AND THE PRICE IS VERY REASONABLE .Shipping is the buyers responsability and payment will be a certified bankers check which once clears I will overnight the title to you .Any question feel free to e-mail me and I will respond as quick as possible. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT I HAVE A 100% FEEDBACK AND DONT HAVE TIME FOR ANY ONE WHO JUST HAS NO INTENTION ON COMPLETING THE TRANSACTION SO PLEASE DONT WASTE MY TIME AND YOURS !!!! I also have all the original A/C brackets and what not that goes with the truck.Truck is also for sale locally and reserve the wright to end auction if needed..Thanks for looking at my auction and bid with confidence because this truck is a great starting point for nice ride at a very reasonable price........GOOD LUCK !!!!!!!!!

GM Recalls 218,000 Chevy Aveo Models Over Fire-Prone Lighting
Wed, May 21 2014The recall train keeps on rolling for General Motors. Hot on the heels of its recent 2.4 million-vehicle recall of various models, it's now calling in 218,000 Chevrolet Aveo units from the 2004-2008 model years because they could catch fire. The problem concerns the daytime running light module in the instrument panel. It could overheat, melt and cause a fire. According to GM spokesperson Alan Adler, "We are aware of some fires," and the company "is still investigating." Adler wouldn't comment about how many fires were reported or when the automaker was first aware of this issue because of the ongoing analysis. However, he said the issue has not caused any injuries or fatalities. GM also doesn't have a fix for the problem with the DRL module yet. The company says in its recall statement to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the remedy "is still under development." Adler wasn't sure when it would be ready, but he said Aveo owners would receive notification in the mail "relatively soon." They will receive a second letter later to schedule the repair. In a separate letter about the Aveo's problem to NHTSA (viewable here as a PDF), GM said its Executive Field Action Decision Committee decided to conduct the recall on May 16. Scroll down for the recall report. RECALL Subject : Daytime Running Light Module Overheating Report Receipt Date: MAY 19, 2014 NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V261000 Component(s): Potential Number of Units Affected: 218,000 Manufacturer: General Motors LLC SUMMARY: General Motors is recalling certain model year 2004-2008 Chevrolet Aveo vehicles equipped with daytime running lights (DRL). In the affected vehicles, there may be heat generated within the DRL module located in the center console in the instrument panel, which could melt the DRL module. CONSEQUENCE: If the DRL module melts due to the heat generation, it could cause a vehicle fire. REMEDY: The remedy for this recall campaign is still under development. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact General Motors customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet). General Motors recall number for this campaign is 14236. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
