Up for auction is a 1985 Chevrolet K10 4x4 Pickup minus the motor. The pickup is equipped with a 4-speed transmission, 4x4, WARN lucking hubs, power steering, power brakes, A/C, CD player, sliding back glass, truck cap, bed liner, trailer hitch, aluminum rims and 33/12.5/15 tires with 1/3 tread left. I purchased the truck a week ago just for the engine, so now I am selling the rest of the truck. I suppose for the right money I would sell the truck complete, so I will entertain offers. I have left the engine in the truck until the end of the auction so the truck will be available for test drives. I have driven the truck approximately 50 miles with no issues. The gentleman I purchased the truck from said it needs new tie rods; however I did not experience any major issues on the drive home. Over all the truck is in pretty good condition for its age. During my short ownership I have tested the 4-wheel drive which worked as it should. I have run the 4-speed manual transmission through all of its gears with no major issues. I tested the brakes, head lights, wipers, heat, radio, fuel gauge, aftermarket water temp gauge, aftermarket oil pressure gauge, and all function properly. The speedometer does not appear to be hooked up; it did not function during my trip home. The bed is the main rust on the truck. The front fenders, hood, floors, cab corners and rockers all appear to be in good condition. Doors shut nice as does the tailgate. The interior is in good shape for a 1985 Chevy pickup. I have the clean Indiana title in the previous owner’s name. The truck is sold As Is. No warranty implied or otherwise. A $500 Non Refundable deposit is due at the end of the auction, cash only balance at pick up or full purchase price through pay pal. Must be paid for and picked up within 7 days of auctions end. Shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer. If you have questions PLEASE ASK BEFORE BIDING!!! Thanks for looking.
On Apr-10-14 at 08:05:42 PDT, seller added the following information: The truck is located in Casey, IL 62420. Please contact me before you bid if you have 0 feedback or negative feedback, otherwise I will cancel your bid. Thanks! On Apr-11-14 at 06:52:13 PDT, seller added the following information:
The radiator, power steering pump with bracket, and manifolds will go with the truck. I plan to use the alternator with bracket, and the starter. The truck has a new flowmaster exhaust system that will go with the truck as long as I do not have to lower my reserve to get the truck sold. If I lower my reserve I will keep the exhaust system and use it on my project. Thanks, for your interest! |

IIHS gives good ratings to 4 of 8 midsize pickups in crash test
Wed, Sep 6 2017Versions of the Toyota Tacoma, Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon Crew Cab earned top ratings in a new crash test of midsize pickup trucks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, while two versions of the Nissan Frontier earned marginal ratings. But the organization gave poor marks to all eight pickups tested for their dim headlights. Overall, four of the eight pickups evaluated earned good ratings for protecting occupants in all five crash test categories — the Tacoma double cab along with crew cab versions of the Colorado, Canyon and Tacoma. But the poor headlights and lack of an automatic emergency braking system blocked any of the pickups from qualifying for the IIHS's Top Safety Pick awards. The study looked at two pickup body styles using 2017 models: crew cabs, which have four full doors and two full rows of seating, and extended cabs, which have two full front doors, two smaller rear doors and compact second-row seats. It subjected each to five tests, and it evaluated the performance of front crash prevention systems and headlights. The Toyota Tacoma crew cab was the only pickup in that class that earned a good rating for structure in the small overlap test, which replicates what happens when a vehicle clips a tree, pole or another vehicle that has crossed the center line. The model's Access Cab extended-cab version was rated similarly, though its structure was rated acceptable. "This group of small pickups performed better in the small overlap front test than many of their larger pickup cousins," says David Zuby, the Institute's executive vice president and chief research officer. "The exception was the Nissan Frontier, which hasn't had a structural redesign since the 2005 model year." The extended-cab versions of the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon earned acceptable ratings, while both the Nissan Frontier king-cab and crew-cab models were rated marginal. Toyota says its 2018 Tacoma will feature upgraded headlights and a standard autobraking system that can detect pedestrians. "Headlights are basic but vital safety equipment. Drivers shouldn't have to give up the ability to see the road at night when they choose a small pickup," Zuby said. Chevy Sonic shreds like a skateboard
Tue, 19 Mar 2013Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London.
In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around.
If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.
Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
