1984 Chevy Silverado K10 4x4
197,014 original miles. 18,814 on a new 1989 350 crate motor from Chevrolet. Has Rochester 4bbl quadrajet carburetor purchased from National Carburetor in Florida, with lifetime service warranty. Chrome valve covers. DUI distributor with red cap. MSD red plug wires with NGK spark plugs. New EGR valve and oxygen sensor. Holley fuel pressure regulator mounted on fender with gauge. Brand new carter fuel pump mounted inside frame under the cab with stainless steel braided fuel lines. This pump is a little loud. New fuel pump relay wiring harness. New K&N air filter. Newer computer with Hypertech performance chip. Twin fuel tanks with brand new switching valve. Passenger side tank has new sending unit and filter. Flowmaster exhaust with 3 inch turn down pipe. New Catalytic convertor. New water pump. Air conditioning works and blows cold. Has new refrigerant. Engine oil was just changed with synthetic AMSOIL.
Transmission is older Turbo 350 with shift kit built by B&M racing. It has a chrome deep pan along with chrome flywheel cover. Has Autometer mechanical trans temp gauge. Transmission and transfer case oils have also just been changed. Transmission shifts good and tight.
The truck was repainted 7 years ago. I kept the original 1984 chocolate brown and added a 2002 Chevrolet champagne. Has a handpainted violet pinstripe with orange edges. The chrome trim was also new at time of painting. The paint looks great and really shines in the sun. There is a few rock chips on lower panels which is normal and also a few scratches on top of tailgate. Custom headlights in chrome bezels and euro style taillights.
Procomp 6 inch lift with dual front shocks and steering stabilizers. 35x12.50x15 Mickey Thompson MTZ tires. They are like new and have lots of tread left. Both front and rear axles were changed over to 3.73 gear ratio. All work was done by 4 wheel parts.
Interior of truck is almost perfect except for the cracks in dash but has a cover and a small tear in driver door arm rest. The bench seat and headliner have been redone. Billet trim on dash and doors and billet rear view mirror. All gauges work. The fuel gauge is a little off but stills reads close to accurate. Has the factory installed clock. New passenger window motor along with new switches. The tint on the passenger window is starting to peel up. The cruise control and windshield washer has never worked. 4 JBL speakers. 4inch in the doors and two 6x9 behind the seat in custom built cab corner brackets. 8 inch JBL sub with amp. Brand new Kenwood excelon stereo with usb plug for ipod.
The steering box was starting to tear away from the frame last year, so 4 wheel parts welded in a steering box kit to secure it. I've never had the truck off road and have only used the 4 wheel drive a few times. It's built for California smog and passes everytime. I'm the third owner having bought it in 1998. It's never been driven long distance and has been well cared for. I have the original engine that I will let go with the truck if the winning bidder wants it. It does need rebuilding. Truck is sold AS IS, WHERE IS. A $500 non refundable deposit is required within 24 hours of close of auction. Will accept a certified cashiers check but will have to have everything cleared by the bank first before I release the truck. Full payment is due within 7 days of close of auction. Buyer to make all shipping arrangements.

GM program sees dealers taking on way more loaner cars
Wed, Dec 17 2014Given the volume of vehicles we're talking about, this is a significant development for GM's bottom line. Bring your car into the dealership for service, and you may need a loaner car in exchange. And with so many recalls being carried out, that means a lot of loaners – especially at General Motors dealerships. That could be one of the reasons why GM is massively expanding its loaner fleet program. While many Chevrolet and Buick-GMC dealerships have an on-site rental car location operated by a third party like Enterprise (which may or may not provide a GM vehicle), others manage their own loaner fleets. But while the range of dealerships operating such fleets was once small, reports Automotive News, the number has been growing rapidly: from the locations responsible for only 20 percent of those brands' sales two years ago to about 90 percent today. The impetus for that growth comes down to a massive expansion of GM's Courtesy Transportation Program. The initiative encourages dealers to ramp up their loaner fleet to a maximum size determined by GM, with a mix determined by the dealer itself, so that a showroom in Texas can be bolstered with a fleet of pickup trucks and a dealer in California can employ more Volt and Camaro Convertible loaners. The dealership gets a $500 credit for each vehicle its puts in its fleet, and can use those vehicles as loaners for service customers, as multi-day test drivers or to rent out separately. The vehicles remain in the dealer's fleet for 90 days or 7,500 miles, then they can be sold as used, but with new-car incentives. The dealer gets a fleet of loaners, customers get to use the loaners, try out a new car overnight or buy a barely used car with attractive incentives, and GM gets to clock more sales. But therein lies the kicker: the automaker counts the dispatch of the loaner new vehicle to the dealership as a new-car sale, which could end up distorting its sales figures. Counting loaner vehicles as sold vehicles is something of an industry-standard practice, but given the volume of vehicles we're talking about, this is a significant development for GM's bottom line. One dealership - Paddock Chevrolet in Kenmore, NY, for example - had no loaner fleet two years ago, but now runs a fleet of 50 vehicles. Multiply that by the 4,000 or so dealers GM has across America and you're talking about the potential for hundreds of thousands of these sorts of sales.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible headed for Geneva debut
Mon, 28 Jan 2013While most of the world is still coming down from all the hype surrounding the debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, we're already looking to the future. And according to Autoweek, the next chapter in the C7 story will unfold at the Geneva Motor Show in March. That's right, General Motors is reportedly using the Swiss stage as its venue to debut the Corvette Stingray convertible.
If this strikes you as odd, you aren't alone. After all, with a car that's such an American icon, we'd fully expect Chevrolet to unveil it here on our shores in either Chicago or New York. But according to Autoweek, GM is looking to boost export sales of its halo car, and since the C7 was engineered to compete with the world's best and brightest, showing it off in Geneva is somewhat of a smart move. What's more, those with sharp memories will recall that GM used the Geneva expo to debut the sixth-generation C6 Corvette convertible back in March 2004, so there's also a precedent.
Details surrounding the Corvette Stingray convertible are still slim, though we fully expect the 6.2-liter V8 and choice of either six-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmissions to carry over unchanged. Prototypes spotted on the road showed the car fitted with a cloth convertible roof, as well.
GM Recalling Another 2.7 Million Vehicles In Five Separate Campaigns
Thu, May 15 2014The recalls keep rolling in from General Motors, evidently keen to avoid repeating the mistakes of the ignition-switch debacle and clean house. This time they're all coming at once, with five separate recalls announced together covering approximately 2.7 million vehicles. The largest of the five actions involves over 2.4 million units of the previous-generation Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx, Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura in order to fix brake light wiring harness, which have been found to be susceptible to corrosion. The recall is separate from the 56k Aura sedans which GM recently recalled over faulty shift cables, not to mention the previous massive recall of 1.3 million vehicles – some of them the same models – but appears to have resulted from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation that started with the G6 almost a year ago. The second-largest campaign involves the 2014 Chevy Malibu, specifically those fitted with GM's 2.5-liter engine and stop/start system, approximately 140,000 examples of which has been found to have problematic brakes. The issue does not appear to be connected to the recall of 8k Malibu and Buick LaCrosse sedans (also involving brake woes) which we reported upon last week. Four crashes have been reported in such models, but GM admits it's not yet clear if the problem was a contributing factor in the accidents. A further 112k Corvette models from the 2005-2007 model years are being called in for problems with their low-beam headlamps resulting from a flexing relay control circuit wire that's not meant to bend. GM says it is "aware of several hundred complaints" about this issue, but notes that there have been no reports of related accidents. In addition, over 19k examples of Cadillac CTS from the 2013 and 2014 model years are being recalled over windshield wipers that might not work after a jump start. Finally, GM is also bringing in 477 examples of its 2014 Chevy Silverado, Tahoe and GMC Sierra (though not the Yukon) to fix a problem with a tie rod in its steering rack. As ever, all recall repairs will be performed free of charge, and GM is now estimating that recall-related actions this quarter will result in an estimated $200-million charge against its second-quarter earnings. Read the full announcement from GM below for further details.
