This nice truck has been owned by my girlfriend for over 20 years and she has asked me to sell it for her as it has been sitting for the past 4 years.  The motor is nice, when I tried to fire it for the first time after sitting the gas was old and I dropped the tank and replaced the high pressure fuel pump.  It started right up and I have put about 500-700 miles on it to make sure the mechanicals are sound.  Here is what I found:

Engine - running well, there are a few occasions when it might miss and it feels like a dirty injector from the bad gas - right now it is no longer noticeable but the first hundred miles it was occasional.  Dual exhaust with headers, all are in very good shape.
Transmission - strong but has a small seal leak, nothing serious
Transfer Case - working well, put in a new front driveshaft as her ex had removed the original one
Body - very clean and solid southern truck, a few rust areas (rocker panels) and a couple of paint blemishes but overall very nice.  Duraliner in the short bed.
Chassis - Shocks are good but the bushings are gone as a result of age and sitting, all rancho suspension.
Tires - a nice set of BF Goodrich 35x12.5x15

Interior - seat is a replacement with a cover on it, it is comfortable and has a center divider that folds down if the cover is removed.  The seat is an oatmeal color and from a newer truck.
-radio - this is a very nice Blaupunkt 230 Watt with a power amp located behind the seat, speakers in the doors.
-dash is OK but has cracks
-Guages (oil pressure and tach are working), (fuel, water temp, amp not working) speedometer was working until a friend tried to fix the other guages and he must not have gotten the cable in far enough and it is no longer working.

Payment Terms - $1000 due at purchase via paypal, the balance upon pick up in cash.

Delivery - pick up in Tennessee, or, a fee to deliver which will vary depending on final location - please ask if you are interested.

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

2016 Lamborghini Huracan at the Horse Thief Mile | AutoblogVR

Tue, Sep 13 2016

AutoblogVR returns to the Horse Thief Mile in the Mojave Desert to put the Lamborghini Huracan to the test. It's everything we want a modern supercar to be: Powerful, striking in appearance, and a riot to drive. But does it live up to Lamborghini's unique performance heritage? Senior Editor Greg Migliore reviews the Huracan on Horse Thief's unyielding curves and elevation changes to find out. Meanwhile, Autoblog Editor-in-Chief Mike Austin reviews a different kind of performance car – the Chevy SS at the IndyCar circuit on Detroit's Belle Isle. He's ably assisted by ace driver Simon Pagenaud. You must watch his hot lap! The SS is old-school V8 American muscle wrapped in Australian design and engineering. This AutoblogVR segment also launches on the app Sept. 13, and the teaser follows the Huracan preview above. Each week, new episodes will launch on the AutoblogVR App. We'll preview them here on Autoblog, but for the full immersive experience, head over to the app, which you can download for free from the App store and Google Play. Be sure to try it with a cardboard viewer, too!

The Volt Dance had precedent; meet the Chevy Footlockers

Sun, Dec 14 2014

Marketing in the auto industry can get weird sometimes – really quite bizarre, in fact. For example, remember the Chevy Volt dance from the 2009 Los Angles Auto Show? If not, a group boogied to a song about the electric car, and it was every bit as awkward (and hilarious) as that sounds. In fact, that innocent bit of promotion lives in infamy, as some pundits grabbed hold of it during General Motors' bailout and asked why America's tax dollars were going to such things. The Chicago Auto Show has been digging through its vault of vintage videos, and it has come up with something that might actually be worse than that Volt-themed routine. They're called the Chevy Footlockers, and they're a dance troupe somehow promoting the Cavalier at the 1988 Chicago show. The connection between the car and their routine is unclear, but it's gloriously cheesy in a Chippendales-meets-AC Slater sort of way. Also, there are props towards the end, but we aren't going to spoil them for you, because you just have to watch for yourself. As a bonus, there's another (brief) clip below showing a female dance group with the Geo Tracker at the '91 Chicago show, and they sing, too. Scroll down to watch both of these oddities.
