1966 Chevy P/u Rare Factory 4x4 on 2040-cars
Huntsville, Alabama, United States
Truck is for sale at other locations also. This is a survivor--1966 Chevy pickup Factory 4X4 with just 68K miles. It was built in Baltimore and sold in Va. at Front Royal Pontiac/Chevrolet to Mr. Morrison. Has a set of manuals with his name. Also two repair bills with name and mileage. Truck is in good shape for its age-- has build paper ! Wood bed is in good shape, has original hub caps, 283V/8 engine with 4 on the floor transmission, oil bath air filter, cannister oil filter, decals on cab roof, etc. Owners on sold it to a car lot and I bought it from them in 2003. I have found another to buy and have a 2wd anyway. This truck should be taken to car shows in an enclosed trailer ! Someone did paint it with original color before I got it and put a wear strip around the bottom, and it has an electric fuel pump and a recent tear in the drivers seat. Still it is a great survivor and I do nor believe you have seen any in this good shape unless they have been rebuilt. Look under classics on NADA website and see the value of this truck is $31500.00. I am deeply discounting it for a quick sale and hopefully to someone that will cherish it. Thanks for looking. Of course, buyer is responsible for pickup and transportation. No overpayments or other BS tolerated !

Camaro SS facelift and dune-riding the new Mercedes-Benz GLS | Autoblog Podcast #579
Fri, May 3 2019In this week's Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Road Test Editor Reese Counts and Associate Editor Joel Stocksdale. First, they talk about the newly refreshed Chevy Camaro SS. Then they dish on the cars they've been driving, including the Lexus UX, Lexus GS F and Volvo V90, as well as riding in the new Mercedes-Benz GLS. After that, they ask the question, how many AMG cars is too many? Finally they turn to car buying, and suggest potential vehicles for a shopper on Reddit for the "Spend My Money" segment. Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
This SEMA special drag race is absurdly awesome
Fri, Dec 5 2014The SEMA Show came and went last month, and it showed us a ton of heavily modded goodies to dream about during the long, cold winter. The Motor Trend Channel on YouTube is keeping the party rolling a little longer, though, with a drag race inspired by the aftermarket event. All of the hosts were supposed to borrow a vehicle from the show for the big race, but only two of them actually cajoled companies into lending their wares. Still, the result includes four very cool and extremely different examples of the breadth of the automotive hobby. First up, there's a 1955 Chevrolet with a 535-cubic-inch (8.8-liter) Hemi V8 stuffed under the hood. Appropriately, it's dubbed the Blasphemi, and with skinny tires up front, fat rubber in the rear and a stripped interior, this this is made to go very fast in a straight line. Next, there's a stock Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat boasting 707 horsepower. Plus, host Jessi Lang has her dog riding shotgun for the race. A Chevy Sonic RS with some body mods, downpipe and intake is also competing. Finally, the most bizarre of the quartet is a custom 1958 Jeep Forward Control with a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 and treads to replace the wheels. Obviously, the Blasphemi and Hellcat are the only two that really have a chance of winning, but check out the video to see which one crosses the finish line first.
